To Commissioners: I'm Sorry
Posted 11 months agoToo little too late at this point. You already have them in your hands and likely aren't too upset with me, but still. The "emergency commissions" have all wrapped up...a full four and a half months after they were supposed to be.
Ultimately, yes, the plan to finish them all in a June speed-run was a self-imposed goal. No deadline was set in stone for any of these. But is that really all I could accomplish in that amount of time? 20 damn commissions, some of which are barely finished and none of which look professional? Regardless, these commissions were organized with the expectation that they would get done quickly. I overpromised and underdelivered, once again, and I'm sorry.
It's forced me to confront some unpleasant realities about myself, my skill level and my work ethic. Sincerely hope that I'll do better in the future.

Commissions Update: Slight Change of Plan
Posted a year agoHey everybody. As stated in my last journal, my plan was to take on a bunch of commissions before the end of May, to offset an upcoming bill. However, I also made an earlier commitment to get a very large IRL project finished by the end of the month...one that's taken far too long and needs to be done, for the sake of my sanity. And the reality is that I can't juggle both. I assumed that I could, but did so foolishly, and I'm sorry. So NOW, my plan is to wrap up this huge assignment, take the financial hit, and then get the commissions done as fast as I can in June. During this month, I'll still work on rough sketches and send them out to you for approval, and SOME drawings will get finished. But for the most part, the comms have to be pushed back a few weeks.
If that's a problem for any of you and you want to cancel, I understand and apologize for the delay.
Also, just for clarity: this list is NOT first-come-first-served. As some of these are bigger than others and I have to do a bunch at a time, they will be done in whatever order I get them done in.

Long story short, I have a bit of a bill due soon and am hoping to make up the loss I'll incur. It's not life-threatening...I won't get evicted or anything...but it's going to take a big chunk out of my savings. My goal is simply to do as many comms as I can during the month of May, whilst in the middle of everything else I need to finish IRL. With that in mind, I'm opening defined slots and reorganizing my comm system. I tried to be economical and fair with my prices as my drawings have gotten more detailed over the years (my fault), please let me know if these seem too high. If you're hesitant, feel free to haggle.

Somehow or other, over the last 5 years, I wound up with over 1500 watchers! And I'm very grateful for that. But it made me feel a sense of responsibility to share this. Furries have a bit of a "reputation" and stigma attached to them, it's true. But a lot of this community really does care about animals.
There's a man in South Africa named Michael Jamison who takes in rescued ones. Most prominently, he raised two tigers named Enzo and Diego, and he has dozens of other critters that he's nursed to health and raised. You might've seen some of his more famous videos from several years ago.

I know what you're thinking, but he's not just some crazy rich guy who owns exotic animals just because he can. He got wealthy with a telecommunications business and then sold it a long time ago, and now just works day in and day out tending his flock. The tigers have a massive enclosed area with a pool, lots of friends, and they absolutely adore him.
Well, the South African economy has completely collapsed in the last 2 years, and Michael is essentially flat broke now. The YouTube algorithm destroyed his passive income....no one watches his videos anymore and he can't get the word out about what's happening. I myself was wondering what had happened to him, and suddenly stumbled across this. He made a vlog last week discussing the situation, claiming that he'd barely eaten in several days.

If you're looking at his house and all the stuff he owns and wondering "why doesn't he sell it? The dude has a helicopter and a suit of armor in his effing living room"....well, remember, South Africa's economy is in the toilet. He's trying, but can't sell things because there's no one to buy them. It's a tragic irony - he has 1 million subs but his videos can't get 10k views, and the dude has all this rich guy crap but can't afford to eat.
The government is threatening to take his house and his animals, and with the way things are in South Africa right now, it's a guarantee that they will not be put in good homes. They all rely completely on Michael and he's their family.
Stumbling on this situation broke my heart, and I don't want to see Enzo & Diego lose their dad and be put in an abusive third-world zoo environment.
If even a tiny fraction of my followers donated a tiny bit to keeping his head above water, it would help tremendously.

Anyhow, I keep getting questions about commissions, asking if I'm open, asking what the rules are. I have not been doing a good job of keeping everyone informed, and that's entirely my fault. But as I devote less and less time to being on here, that just sort of became the situation. Sorry.
As to the second thing I need to apologize for: I've been struggling a lot with art lately. And with all the digital stuff that needs to be done, commissions (even smaller ones, sometimes) have become more and more time-consuming. I still don't value my own work very highly, but my time is a different story.

Posted 4 years agoNow, I've made a point of trying to move away from commissions to work on my own IRL non-fetish projects. Occasionally I'll do something small. And for a while, I fully intended to leave this life behind. Someday, I probably still will. But recently a thought has been swimming around my brain and I'm not quite sure what to do with it.
This might be a bit egotistical to ask. I have plenty of OCs, to whom not much attention has been given, and I've always wanted to expand on their lives and stories in a bit more detail. If I were to do the classic MTJPub/Pawfeather thing (something pretty much abandoned by most of the tickling community, but Patreon irks me) and create a 10-or-so-page comic, or perhaps just a collection of more-detailed illustrations, would any of you be interested in buying it?
Am I a dick for putting this out there?

But on the off-chance they open again, I have something to say.
Just to be clear, this is NOT directed at anybody who's currently chatting with me. I'm not angry or frustrated with anyone, nor is this meant to be a guilt trip for anybody. This is a statement for the future; that's all.
Please, please, PLEASE stop asking me to draw dicks.
I've made exceptions for friends/longtime commissioners in the past (including some that have not been uploaded here) and am continuing to do so on a handful of my current projects. But I hate drawing them, and now it's all people seem to request from me. That's not what I want my page to be.
So at this point, I'm putting my foot down. Unless you're a REALLY good friend, and even then I might be hesitant, no more penises.

I'm fully aware that this announcement should have come much sooner, or not at all. My work-life balance was disastrous at the time, and it was a very stressful period in my life.
Having finally amassed the money I needed to make up for the financial losses I incurred last year, I recently decided to step away from my part-time job and devote myself entirely to art. At least, for a short time. There's one project in particular (not fetish-related) that has tormented me for well over a year, and it must be finished. With that said, I am much happier, more stable, and financially comfortable for the moment.
On that note...
Please be honest with me. If I were to reopen commissions, starting with the ones you all asked for six/seven months ago, would any of you still want them? I know it's been far too long, but if it were possible for me to make it up to you and pick up where we left off, how many of you would be interested?
If any of you have since moved on and gotten these commission ideas from other artists, that's totally fine. But if you're still in the market, or if you have new ideas that you're more passionate about, would you accept my apology and have any interest in moving forward?
Don't feel any pressure or obligation to re-enter business with me; I'm just letting you all know that I'm open to it.

Posted 5 years agoAs you may have noticed, I have been working incredibly slowly lately and haven't been on this website but twice in the last four months. It's very hard to say this, as I've never had to do it before, and I can't apologize enough, but I have to cancel my upcoming commissions. (This is why I don't take payment up-front.)
I just can't do it right now. Initially, I opened up commissions again because I was having difficulty finding a part-time job. So guess what happened about a week after my slots all filled up? >__<
I'm now working at a grocery store, and they've given me a lot more hours than I initially planned. So much so that I often don't feel like a part-time worker at all. In addition to that, I was juggling about four or five different projects already, all of which have fallen drastically behind schedule. I work almost constantly yet have made no real progress on anything. It's a nightmare. And as such, I can't commit to any of these commissions. At this rate, none of them will be done for a year, and that's not fair to anyone.
I know this is probably very disappointing, especially since I waited so damn long to announce this. But I've never backed out on a commission before, and I've prided myself on getting them done as quickly as possible, so this is very difficult for me.
Caroo's is currently in-progress, so that one will be finished, and I made a promise to work on Fluttershy~'s series intermittently in the upcoming months. But for the rest, for my own sake, I have to throw in the towel.

Posted 5 years agoSo, in my last journal it seems that I was unintentionally grim-sounding. I really appreciate everyone's concern, but things are alright...I'm just in between jobs and trying to make up some recent expenses. I've got money saved up, just not making any, you know?
So, right up front, I have a large commission in store for
arcadias, a similar piece for helioseusebio, some work for 
taserdude, and a small piece for dragonmaster2653, as well as a comic for someone on TMF that I'm spreading out over a longer period. As they were commissioned before I "officially" reopened, they won't count toward the 10 slots that I will make available. Theirs will be done first, and then I'll move on to the ones below.
Ground Rules
- I primarily work in tickling fetish art, but I am (to a limited point) willing to do things outside of that - character portraits and the like.
- Absolutely no scat, blood, inflation, vore...basically anything involving bodily fluids is a no.

So, right up front, I have a large commission in store for
arcadias, a similar piece for helioseusebio, some work for 
taserdude, and a small piece for dragonmaster2653, as well as a comic for someone on TMF that I'm spreading out over a longer period. As they were commissioned before I "officially" reopened, they won't count toward the 10 slots that I will make available. Theirs will be done first, and then I'll move on to the ones below. Financial obligations have forced me to reopen commissions. I tried to keep it quiet at first, but there it is. It's not a position I wanted to be in.
From now on, I'll be opening a limited number of slots like a normal person.

The Time is Fast Approaching
Posted 6 years agoWell guys, 7 months ago, I tried to take a hiatus. For the most part, that didn't happen. While it's true that I mainly kept to doing commissions for friends, small work still ended up pulling me back in. But now, for real, I'm going dark on commissions. The most recent of my uploads...the King Sombra one...will be the last major non-personal piece for quite a while.
Now, as to the title of this journal....
Long ago, I made a promise. My time on fA was never meant to be permanent, rather a safety cushion...a way to express a secret part of myself and, hopefully, make some money while doing so. But I have larger career goals for myself...ridiculous and unrealistic ones, granted. And as such, I decided that if my fetish work ever became more popular than my non-fetish work, for reasons of security and safety, I would nuke the content of this page.
And that time is fast approaching.
It's not quite here yet, but in a few months it probably will be. I still plan to lurk around, faving stuff from other artists and maintaining contact with a few friends on here, but my gallery will be empty and nothing new will (probably) be uploaded. So, long story short, if you're a fan of anything I've drawn, maybe you should save it.
Thanks for sticking with me all this time.

This Can't Keep Going Forever
Posted 7 years agoFirst of all, I'm sorry, but I can't take any more commissions. At least not for a while. If you're a close friend, or if I'm already talking with/noting you about a commission, then sure. But for the most part, I can't.
Here's the thing...I never intended for this site to be a huge part of my life. I never wanted to draw porn for a living. Not that I don't enjoy this stuff, but when this started, it was simply a means to an end...a job to help me survive. All along, the plan was to nuke this page (and all of my drawings) as soon as it had as many views as my deviantart profile (which is rapidly approaching). But somehow, I became relatively popular within the tickling sphere on this site. My page has grown shockingly fast and I'm getting commission requests left and right, which is something that I absolutely never expected. And what's become distressingly apparent is that I've gotten more successful doing this, drawing fetish art, than I ever have as a "real" artist. And so I stayed here...buried myself in this community. But in doing so, I've neglected my goals...my dreams...my friends who I've built relationships with over on my "main" deviantArt page. And I miss those things, dearly.
I haven't drawn anything for myself in a very, very long time, and my imagination has dried up. While many of you have become friends and the support has meant a lot, the truth can no longer be avoided: staying here is bad for me. I want to return to doing the things I truly love - and tickling is an awesome fetish, but it's not those things.
The long and short of it is that I intend to spend much less time on FurAffinity, at least for a while. Again, if we're currently discussing a commission, I'm not going to leave you hanging. So don't worry. Some of you I can still talk with on discord. But after this upcoming storm of projects (which may take another month yet), I hope to be around less often.

EDIT: In case I wasn’t 100% clear, I am not up and disappearing right now. Still have a lot of projects in the works and will be hanging around. I need a break AFTER that.
