Magic of my writing.
General | Posted 10 years agoIn my writing magical force is called Ether.
Everything possesses Ether to some degree, but usually only living things possess Ether signatures.
There are two types of Ether signatures, one denoting the type of living thing an entity is and the personal one for the thing in question.
Only people are said to have personal signatures.
Ether is a natural force predominantly (the sun sheds a large a large amount upon the earth), but relics of of old civilizations (and the sites themselves) possess large amounts as well. There are ley-lines too. Objects can be infused with Ether by an experienced practitioner; the most receptive to such practice are certain metals, like mythril or adamantine, and crystals or gems.
People can be infused with Ether as well, but such is highly dangerous, not to mention forbidden.
The ability to cast magic is a thing that is determined by the individual's brain structure. There is no other way.
When the person is in question is young they begin to manipulate the world world around them inadvertently, and then then when they're old enough, they are immediately sent to a special school set up by the Duchess.
Having a large amount Ether is not correspondent to having magical ability. Even if you're born with the smallest amount of Ether, you can use magic if your brain is structured properly. However, individuals possessing large amounts of Ether tend to develop other powers like kinesis or telepathy, or become physically/mentally stronger. Or they grow to large sizes.
I previously said casting magic was limited to a select group, but some advanced scientific societies have developed "magi-tech", a device replicating conventional magic through Ether-infused stones (which are also manufactured). The device drains Ether from the stone to cast, but it can also drain the energy from other stuff and the air, but it takes much longer. However, individuals possessing large quantities of Ether can also attach the device to themselves; a living battery; making them high demand in certain institutions.
Regardless casting magic is a test of mental strength, whether you have the brain for it or not. Continual shaping can lead to splitting headaches and mental fatigue n either case, and overreaching your limits will cause a brain anuerism, and draining Ether from yourself has numerous undesirable side effects.

Writing Plans
General | Posted 10 years agoHello watchers.
I'm sorry for not providing you much reason to visit my page except for these insubstantial journals.
I'm still writing, just off-screen. I havent had much time devote energies to the written word, due to many circumstances...
I can still give two definitive works which will be finished in the upcoming time.
Untitled Work- A simple work to test how well I can tie together scene, description, and character interactions.
Untitled Work- My first trade yet which is wretchedly tardy in coming, with
AugenSinum 's main character.
I have less idle time now, but I will be working on these with what I have.

Haha.
Feeling very tired lately, and falling asleep in my classes.
I lack mental energy in all but a few things as of late.
I'm trying to write again.
How are all of you? Anything interesting or weird?

Beyond Death: The Experience
General | Posted 10 years agoIt was a curious experience, to say the least. By now I have completed 2 different playthroughs with 2 characters, each presenting their own difficulties and advantages.
The first was a Lady by the name of Mexai; she was agile and graceful. But she was overwhelmed by the other undead she fought on a daily basis.
Synopsis: Mexai was a dexterity build I was used on my first playthrough. I died the most times with her, and she was also the only one I managed to get TWO blacksteel katanas with.
I have also ruined my pvp experience with her as well. My "Soul memory" is too high, leading me into grueling online encounters. I am going to delete her, as she no longer gives me joy...
Crono was my second character. A Cosplay from a game I played by the name of crono trigger. He focused on Miracles and quick strikes.
Crono was also the first character I used spellcasting with, and it was an interesting experience. Learned how useful clerical magic was during invasions, It was a lot of fun as well!
Ayla is my third character, One ive almost completd the game with. She uses the Vanquishers seal, Which vastly increases bare fist damage. Another Cosplay; look her up.
She has been the easiest by far to play with. Really, the damage is amazing with the stats and its simple; run up and punch guys in the face. The armour for the cosplay is terrible, but i can dodge...
The controls for this game are strange. The dodge button seems to have a slight delay, along with the button to attack. I have discovered a hidden mechanic. If you completely exhaust your stamina, you will not be able to run for a period of time.
Some areas are just horrible. The gutter.... Ugh. So many deaths in darkness.
Undead crypt...
Shaded Woods....
And then there is the lag.
It makes me incredibly frustrated. My internet is bad, but still... The other players are pretty much scumbags. Havel casters, Chaos blades (complete with dark buffs) Regular mages who dont know how to play the game, r1 spammers... MY skills will do me little good against lag.
Lag is the true death of the game.

Beyond Death.
General | Posted 10 years agoI have recently aquired a game, Dark Souls 2.
Hmm. It's quite intriguing, Like skyrim, but it seems to have much more depth than the former.
Of course, after watching so many playthroughs on youtube, I spoiled myself. But it still cant spoil the raw feeling i have for this game.
There are soul-mates, so there must be soul games? I if there is then ive found my match...
There are flaws, of course. Dark souls is infamous for its lag, leading to many of my deaths in online confrontations. The control scheme is unfriendly to novices as well. I still encounter difficulties...
Let me know if you play. I could kill you sometime. Or you could kill me. Either is fine.

Ambitions, Expectations, and Stagnation.
General | Posted 10 years agoFor those of you that care, you may have noticed that I have not written anything for quite the time.
I have not quite Lost my Desire to write, but I feel a curious barrier to putting down words.
I have the motivation, but when I try, I just cant get things down. I stall.
About the saga, for those it portends to... It will be halted 'till further notice. I realize that it is simply asinine to expect myself to weave a grand story when I am just starting writing. It was an ambition that fell drastically short of my expectations (and abilities). I... I feel slightly disappointed. But there is not much else to be done. That is something to leave until much later, when my abilities meet my ambitions.
I will work on other things to fill that gap, in meantime, and scale back what I expect of myself.
I am interested in hearing some ideas, too. I'll consider them, at least.
I've learned what I can and can't do from this, at least...

General | Posted 10 years agoI feel truly questionable, as of late...
Oh dear....
General | Posted 10 years agoSoo... I heard about this movie, Zootopia. Created by Disney, anthros in it, and whatnot.
It's due to release in...2016.
Already fanart of it, though. Hmmm. Particularly about that red fox. Some cute.
Others not. Like... r34 art.
It's amazing, really. Already? This could be a "turning point" of how people view the fandom, but at this rate...
But if the fandom has been screwing up for years already, there's a pretty dubious chance of that.
Oh fandom... You truly never fail.

General | Posted 11 years agoI had a dream I was drinking white wine.
It tasted horrible, but I finished my glass. and the whole bottle.
I can think a few different things this could mean, but I want to hear what other people think.

General | Posted 11 years agoI have relatively calmed down from my last journal, looking through the opinions, arguing my point, and I've made a few people pissed off.
Have a hard time caring about that. It is to be anticipated when you share your opinion.
The comments I deleted were
Zeichwolf getting defensive.
"The thing is all artists of this site must come together." (Paraphrased.)
That is not possible, and never will come to be. There will always be the predominantly porn/fetish artists, and those that are not. Where he stands is a chasm wide. And the ones who do not cater to the...more adult side are ignored.
Granted, differences can be set aside, but in the end thats what it is. Sex/fapping material sells.
I do not hate the artists that create such art, but the shadow it creates is quite oppressive indeed...
I've been talking to
Tehweenus. He generally promotes artists, but they do adult work. I talked to him about this, and he said he covers non-nsfw artists too, but they're getting harder to find.
The conclusion I've drawn is that porn is a semen-slicked fasttrack to popularity in this fandom. This is not what I thought it to be... 'Tis the ugly truth.
Another adverse effect of this I can't ever quite explain this properly to my associates. The fandom, this is. I can explain in depth anything I want, but not the really gross and fetishes and porn on this site... Or anywhere else for that matter.
I have a "friend" that is hellbent against furry art of all kinds. She really doesn't get it, that it isn't all about sexual stuff, no matter what I say. Not going to blame the fandom (she IS hella stubborn) but she does have a point. More porn than anything else. Porn ads. Porn on the front page. Porn in the deepest dankest dungeons of an innocent seeming art gallery.
I always wondered why I saw two submissions in an artists gallery, but they have fifty in total...
The thing is most porn artists aren't comfortable with it, but do it anyway to cater to a larger audience. Poor Aok... his talents are wasted here.
Let me stop ranting and raving now, because it'll most probably change jack-squat.
About my writing... I have many factors impeding the process. Really, I have nowhere to go so that I can jot down stuff in peace.
But I haven't given up, and never will, so keep your eyes open...
Take it as you will.

General | Posted 11 years agoYou see movies like the Idiocracy and the Matrix and think that is Americas future.
Torn apart by our own lack of hindsight (and by our own creations, which are more intelligent than we are in every way), slaves to a system we hate but will fight to protect if we see it being taken away.
Or degenerate into a nation of dumbasses ruled by dumbasses.
Assuming that isn't the case nao. Eh.
And it has the gall to parade itself as the "Land of the free and home of the brave."
My arse is more brave and free.
Please, somebody tell me the reasons i shouldn't just pack up and go to Germany. Or Australia.

On Old Game Franchises
General | Posted 11 years agoBecause it's been on my mind for a while, my next few journals will be reviewing affluent game franchises and their ilk. I'll be highlighting their high and low points, along with how they compare with todays standards.
Here we go.
Sonic (or Sanic): Hmph. Sega's Blue blur has now become a badge of shame. Today's gaming generation has no idea of how their games compare with Sonic's "glory" days.
I have played Sonic 2-3, A little of Sonic 1, Heroes, And Unleashed.
I played the early ones poorly, since i am not a good platformer. But i still found them fun, except near the end( Death Egg and Launch Base Zone gave me rage).
I first played Heroes when i was 5, and i picked it back up in 2011(?) It was enjoyable, but i felt no need to complete the other team's stories. I simply lost desire to play it.
2013:Unleashed was okay. Subpar story with aggravating new character, blah blah who plays Sonic games for the story anyways? Not me. Day stages were great and fast, with secrets I still haven't gotten.
The night stages were strange for Sonic games. Beat'em ups? That was a low point, along with the fact that they dragged on for an ETERNITY. Five minutes? Ten? Ugh. Final fight was interesting, but not that much.
Sonic 2 8/10
Sonic 3 9/10 Playing as Knuckles brought a spin on the game.
Heroes 8/10 Fun, but the huge difficulty spike near the end and the general cheapness kills it a little.
Unleashed 7/10 Boring night stages brought it down immensely.

I Am a troubled Young Man.....
General | Posted 11 years agoI've come to that conclusion recently.
In English class, I did this poetry brainstorming-thing and one of the questions asked when's the last time I laughed.
I could not remember.
Now, I DO laugh. But not sincerely.
I am also EXTREMELY cynical. Many of the teachers I've sat down with get that immediately. I also have trouble caring sometimes about others feelings, and I derive an unusual amount of pleasure from causing strife. I find it easier to hate than to love, and can feel it burning my soul out, to put it dramatically.
I don't know what is this. I mean, i've went through alot of crap in my life, but it hasn't been eternal suffering.
My god, what am I?
