long story short, there’s a thing in the EU that’s being passed called Article 13 which attempts to enforce stricter copyright laws. The consequences though are that, if the wording isn’t changed for the legislation, it would make the entire EU an internet bubble, where individual content creators can’t post content anymore, and the only people who can are the large companies who already have the copyrights to things. It would kill memes and severely damage social internet culture in the UK.

If that wasn’t bad enough, there’s more; if the wording remains unchanged, the world’s copyright laws may end up coinciding with the EU laws, since they tend to simply use the strictest laws possible, meaning that it could very well kill the internet as a whole

TL;DR: it will certainly kill youtube and social media in the EU, and might kill it everywhere else in the world.

what can be done about it? spread the word to anyone and everyone, but especially people in the EU since they are the ONLY ones who have ANY chance to change it.

yeah, i’m starting college tomorrow, and it will last until the 20th of April. Expect even slower content than usual, or a very inconsistent schedule with them. I have been working on some traditional art, which i’ll put up soon, since that style has always been quite relaxing for me to do, and that’s something i may need in the coming days.
