Posted 16 years agoEvidently there's some issue with the way txt/internet language translates, so we've (almost instinctively) created and embraced the emoticon, to help in casual conversation.
Now emoticons are, more often than not, composed of letters, and common punctuation marks. Because of this, it looks weird to me to have an emoticon next to any 'real' punctuation - I used to space my emoticon far enough away so that the proper mark didn't interfere with proper translation of the emoticon. However, more and more I feel that the emoticon is more important, and acts, in and of itself, as a source of pause, and, indeed, punctuates a sentence.
So, for example:
'Mr. and Mrs. SoandSo said they would visit today =) I hope to see them before school starts.'
See what I did? Instead of putting a period, I put an emoticon, but in a place where a logical pause would be. When I do this, and when I see others make this choice, it reads as the end of a sentence. If not, context clues fill in my doubts.
So here is my question, folks:

Really. I have been interrupted, more times than I can count, by employees taking my order, or servers dropping things at the table, or dealing with customers of my mine own. Transformation theme question
Posted 16 years agoOkay, I LOVE transformation themes (werewolves, Gargoyles, Disney, demons, even the fucking Violator, okay?), but I've YET to see this, or even seen the idea being broached:
WHY. THE FUCK. do all their clothes just, like, rip away like tissue paper? EVEN SHOES? Because, I would think, that in the throws of a presumably painful and scary process, one doesn't always remember to take off one's belt or shoes.. and that shit is made to last.
SO MY QUESTION IS... wouldn't there be a high probability of insta-injury from certain clothing items? These guys should at least be having massive lacerations from suddenly tightened, then exploding belts and shoes, if not broken toes and ribs...
So yeah - why? OTHER THAN "THAT'S NOT SEXY" AS A REASON.
I like my realistic fantasies okay

Here's the deal, the base price of $15 gets you a slot. You are guaranteed AT LEAST a single full body sketch, with the (very good) possibility of getting upgraded! Whether that means inks, digital coloring, paint, charcoal, etc etc! Upgrades are at MY whim, and are random!

A 300 dpi version of the image will be given to the commissioner.

NEED SUGGESTIONS FROM ARTISTS/JOURNAL..ers..
Posted 16 years agoI'm making handmade books, and still have a little brand identity stuff to work out, so while that's getting sorted out, please give me your thoughts on the following:
How many pages would you like to have in a custom/handmade sketchbook or journal. How much more would you be willing to pay for more pages? Keep in mind the pages are quality artists paper (Canson and Stonehenge), so thicker and more expensive than sketching paper.
My sample books have been made with around 30 pages. I had intended to supply a ladder option, ie: pay an extra 5 bucks if you want double the pages.
Would you rather me just put that extra five into the base price, and have a book with 60 pages as default? Or do you like the ladder options?
I also intended to have ladder options for embellishments and the like (image transfers, straps, flaps, pockets, etc etc) - would you rather I just made books and sold as is instead of all this complicated custom stuff?

Posted 16 years agoNot been uploading/offering commissions as much as I'm trying to build up a stock of handmade.... BOOKS! Yes, I'm going to try and peddle my wares in the sea of Etsy, and possibly via a small gallery/boutique.
To give ya'll a heads up, these are coptic stitch books (exposed spine with kettle stitches), about 5 by 3.5 inches, hard back bound with recycled/reclaimed leather/suede over mat scraps (ie: mat window fall outs), with a full sheet of Canson Mi-Tientes torn down to make the pages.
Some of them will be available with... dun dun dun LASER IMAGE TRANSFERS! They look so cool ^^ So if you'd be interested in getting custom imagery on a fucking LEATHER SKETCHBOOK, that's totally doable (black line work only).
Anyways, that's what I've been up to (other than irl job/s and financial stuff ;___; )
