Artfight, a-again, I guess.

every year I try to start this and end up paralyzed with anxiety trying to draw a complete stranger's character.
Maybe this year will be different, idk.

Cohost and FA's contact info thing
Posted 2 years agoFor those that want it.

I plan on kinda posting stuff there that's not entirely done yet, but I also use it for like, y'know. Some Nonart shit, so beware if you watch me.
Also, is it just me or should FA just like, at some point update their social contacts to fallback on a direct link if you post a valid one to your userpage?
Like I see they've got a big warning now that you need to enter the username and not the full site link but I never see anybody do it properly, and if I click on someone's profile links it takes me to like `twitter.com/twitter.com/username` and then I gotta remove the extra junk that FA stubbornly appended to what was clearly a link.
Because one thing I learned from working in retail is that nobody will EVER read anything if they don't have to.
Is there something I'm missing, wouldn't it be easy to just regex the link to check if it starts with what they'll be appending anyway, or is there some weird webdev ideology of being stubborn on this point even to the point of user hostility? Bc I've seen a few other sites do this, and idk WHY.
The convenience of an artist needing to copy less into the field (which isn't really true bc you gotta cut it out of the link anyway so beh, just let me ctrl+a) seems to be entirely lost on the user side of people clicking a broken link and not knowing enough about FA's oddities to realize they just need to trim it.
Maybe it's security concerns, like, preventing people from just being able to share a phishing link and have it look legit, but I kind of don't see that as very likely since links aren't exactly banned here in the first place, and I doubt if it'd be hard to just regex it anyway. The more I think on it the more I feel it's just stubbornness.

Happy October
Posted 3 years agoI haven't really been up for drawing much for here, unfortunately. Life and all that, but I've been really enjoying the month so far.
Get to see a lot of the artists I watch doing spooky pictures, which is always enjoyable to see.

One day...
Posted 4 years agoOne day I hope to create visual pieces that move people the way that music moves me.
I've tried music, but the only thing I feel I'm really able to do is visual art, and that doesn't have quite the same window to people's emotions that music does.
Drawing stuff that feels emotional without coming off as edgy or pretentious is something I don't think I'll ever quite get the hang of.
Ramblevent over, sorry for clogging your journalfeed with nonsense.

Toss me some artists!
Posted 5 years agoI want some artists to watch!
Preferably SFW ones, but I wanna know whose art you find cute!
A watchfeed full of nice art makes sheep happy.

Activity.
Posted 5 years agoI'm gonna try to be more active here. Not like...art-wise, that's still up to chance if I feel like drawing, but...I'll check in more often.
New DAW
Posted 6 years agoSo after several months of using Sunvox, I ended up making the leap to another DAW. I don't feel comfortable dropping tons of money into a paid DAW yet, but a friend mentioned LMMS a few days ago, and I decided to look into it.
I've been learning how to use it and playing around with various things in it over the last couple days, and the biggest observation I've made is that as much as I love Sunvox's hex based trackers and modular instruments, a piano roll and vst workflow is kinda needed for me to make music at this point. Maybe in the future I can play around with Sunvox again, but for now, it'll be limited to being an app on my phone I won't use much.

Signatures updated!
Posted 6 years agoMade a signature for this account. Spent around an hour updating the images in my gallery to have it, then noticed that I missed the C.
Soooo then I spent around twenty minutes fixing them, since I was almost done. (It would've been ten minutes, but I was lazy on some when I updated some of them the first time and had to start from scratch on a few.)
Anyway! Done! Gyah!
In other news, I apologize for not drawing much lately. Since my summer vacation ended, I haven't really been able to draw anything I can post here. Aaand then school started. And I can't draw anything at all. So that's been fun.

Uploading some old stuff.
Posted 6 years agoStill using the original signature. I'll scribble up another one when I start drawing stuff specifically for this account.
