Belated regards to you all for the new year!
Bit of update from this daft slutticorn. I’m still here - which is good! ^.^
Most of my time has been taken up with work in trying to get myself somewhat financially stable (or at least to a point where I am able to develop a bit of a better work-life balance. It’s meant holding down three jobs, taking quite a hit to my free time, and juggling my sanity. There is a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel though and I am hoping to trim off one of them while May.
I’ve no plans for personal travels this year to any conventions, perhaps Griffish Isles, UK PonyCon and perhaps a day visit to Confuzzled. Some work keeps on threatening to send me all over again so I might see if I can swing by something further afield (or nearer you ;P )….
Scribbling-wise, I’m always trying to take the opportunity to draw. Two notable things I’d be delighted with you supporting me with are:

Update on the state of living
General | Posted 5 years agoWhilst it seems that most of the world is having a massive sneezing fit I thought it would be a good time to reflect and update folks as to what’s going on in my world. In a contrast to some previous years, it’s mainly positive – yay ^.^ .
Firstly, and perhaps most significantly, I have passed my doctorate so can now use the “Dr” title which seems extremely pretentious but good fun… although I think I’ll sparsely use it. ^.^
Currently, I’m working on an international collaboration to put some sploOodge on train tracks somewhere in Canada…. It’s dragging on a bit but the project is nearly complete now. I’m not sure what I’m going to do next but might take on another project for a year or two, save up a bit, then aiming to travel to work in North America, Oceania, Japan or wherever will take this daft horse….
The past week or so I have had mild pneumonia as well as chest pain (which has been checked out and thought to be due to inflammation of my heart lining). I must stress that these are not considered serious and will likely clear up in a few weeks. Although not confirmed, because of where I live and have been working, these conditions may very well have been caused as a result of a certain infamous virus going around… fun times! ^.^;
Anyway, I’m locked down for the moment which I am sure many of you can associate with and needing to keep myself occupied. I’m starting to go a little bit loopy: my home has never been so clean and there’s only so many hours a day I can spend watching telly. So, I’m going to open up commissions soon. Pricing will be set starting from 50USD for a full colour piece typical of my more finished work which I think is about fair. Please contact me if you are interested and we can discuss….

Summer update

It felt about the right time to share some things that have gone on since I really last had any substantial presence on here; again, more-so to help me process things too. Also a warning that this contain some pretty triggering things.
My life fell apart last November when the person I was living with died suddenly. I rode over to where they were living during the week (for work) in a city over a few hills, after receiving a messages from a concerned friend around midnight, to find the worst....
A tough time came after then, with having to re-home myself as well as part ways with 2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 kittens and 3 chickens who we cared for to new families (it would be wrong to keep animals where I was moving). At this time I also encountered some extremely unpleasant people who took offense to me for not leaving my home immediately whilst trying to pick up the pieces and find somewhere else to live. Their efforts involved stigmatizing me in the local community resulting in threatening messages from neighbors and some of my late friend "friends".
Needless to say, I miss my friend who I loved dearly; the whole ordeal has shook me up in some pretty profound ways. I'm finding it difficult to move past this patch in my life but eager to do so. I am aware that some things will be with me forever.
I guess in other [happier] news, drawing is difficult as I've found it difficult to have the strength to do it for a while but I'm aiming to get back into the flow of it soon. Work is going alright although I need a break soon; I'm also coming towards the final stretch of my PhD so might end up being one of those soon (I do expect it to drag on for the best part of a year though)! ^.^ I'm picking up the violin again too and learning to enjoy life. I honestly don't know what I want to do after I get my doctorate but thankfully am not tethered to the company I am working for so might just do something completely different / silly.
Anyway, I know that might have been a bit heavy but appreciate it if you've taken the time to read though it. Life is pretty crazy and pretty stupid if you think about it, nether-less it's special so please be kind to each other and don't let anything stop you spreading love.

I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve been properly active and thought I’d just give an update on what’s going on should you be interested to know.
May was a wonderful month for the most part, I travelled to Canada (Vancouver) and the North West US for a bit of a road trip, a MLP convention (EFNW) and a bit of work. After that, was a furry convention in the UK before eventually trying to get things back to normal. Feel free to ask me about any of that, I have plenty of photos put aside from the trip but as time goes on it seems less and less likely that I’ll get about to doing anything with ‘em. So, getting back to what things were like before after all that would prove to be impossible….
As some of you may know, I’ve moved recently. It’s a lovely country townhouse in a village on the slopes of a small valley overlooking a steelworks. The people in this village are a very proud folk, it’s in the middle of no-where and the community seems tight by compulsion, from the working class families to the folk with tractors, to the 14 year old’s vaping club and to the toffs who prance about on horses. I’ve never really fit in anywhere but this seems like one of the less hostile places to live. The house is tall (4 floors) and I am sharing with 2 dogs, 2 cats and a good friend, Lisa.
The past few weeks have been a bit of a nightmare though. I’ve been taking care of the house and animals which should have been rather wonderful and allowed me to adjust to living here but the stress of other things happening around me have caused some extreme anxieties which probably will stay with me a while. I’ve been walked over by many, some of whom are close to me, and it’s made me feel betrayed – relationships seem fragile and forced sometimes. All the while I’ve had 2 psychotic friends needing help (they had been hospitalised for suicidal tendencies) which has been exhausting. The animals have been wonderful but s**t happens (especially with the nature of rescue-animals) and I’ve had to make 4 [necessary] trips to the vets and nurse one of the dogs (not like that you dirty minded sod XD ). Probably the worst (and a story in itself) was having to have someone removed from the house – that I did not want there in the first place but – whom became physically aggressive and threatening; making me feel unsafe in my own home.
Things are still very challenging now and even though my housemate / live-in-landlord is back which is nice, I’m still having severe bouts of anxiety and feel rather lost to where things are.
Anyway, not wanting to end this on a negative note, I’m working to pull things back together. Art has been slow of this past month because of for-mentioned issues but I’ve managed to get some old (and boring) works into an exhibition later this year and been invited to submit some stuff to galleries (sadly my pony stuff isn’t really taken all that well there though). On the pony side though, which is about the only work I’ve been able to work on recently, I’ve been putting time into a commission where I’ve had the chance (thank you soo much for your patience, you know who you are) which I hope to have ready soon. I’m also trying to kick start the Thursday streams so stop-by if you fancy a bit of low quality entertainment of me scribbling and slowly descending into a fragile drunken mess….
Hopefully I’ll be able to get stuff pulled back together soon (as well as catch up with about 2 months of MLP, Adventure Time, Stephen Universe and the likes). Social, work and other pressures are heightening but with a bit of luck, will be staying on top of it and providing you with a shameless steady stream of pony related crap.

I am wearing a lovely pair of rose tinted glasses about these cons so need somepony to lam them off and bring me down to earth. ^.^
If any folk are about let us know too and we'll ettle owt for a laik. Sadly I'll probably be tied up working near Vancouver for a few days the week after the con before I go home but if I get a bigger window in the future then a road trip is inevitable. ;P

General | Posted 10 years agoSome old feelings / issues resurface from time to time which are quite debilitating.
Had difficulties getting help but sought it recently. Not very insightful but it did suggest that many of the (quite self-destructive) coping strategies I’ve used in the past were avoidance.
It’s impossible to open up so I’ve given up, made a few ‘quick fixes’ (which are most definitely avoidance), and simply intend to carry on again. It’s kinda’ numbing and I really do appreciate that you may think it’s the wrong thing to do but I need to get on with my life…. I'll be alright. ^.^
As for you folk, thanks for being so supportive and amazing, I would be in darker place without ‘ya. Sorry for being shitty; I hope I can be there for you folk too!

Had difficulties getting help but sought it recently. Not very insightful but it did suggest that many of the (quite self-destructive) coping strategies I’ve used in the past were avoidance.
It’s impossible to open up so I’ve given up, made a few ‘quick fixes’ (which are most definitely avoidance), and simply intend to carry on again. It’s kinda’ numbing and I really do appreciate that you may think it’s the wrong thing to do but I need to get on with my life…. I'll be alright. ^.^
As for you folk, thanks for being so supportive and amazing, I would be in darker place without ‘ya. Sorry for being shitty; I hope I can be there for you folk too!

House warming

I can’t wait to christen the place with some new smutty pony stuff but have an unreasonable amount of work on at the moment; it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting much scribbling, socialising or even sleep over the next week – perhaps longer!
