Right, so. Here's what's been up with me:

A couple months ago, the elder of my two dogs had a sudden seizure. After a month of various highs and lows, his body finally gave out completely and I decided to have him put down. We were... Very much alike. So much so that I came to regard him as my brother. Knowing that he loved me and relied upon me kept me alive at times when I wanted nothing more than to simply cease being. I'd lost two dogs prior to him and some family besides, but he was the first loss of my adult life. The first one I could really understand, I think.

So I've been pushing through that, as everyone has to, until I sustain a pretty severe back injury at the start of this month. Worst pain I've ever experienced, laid up in bed for four days straight before I could even think of standing, let alone walking. Suffice it to say, I've found myself left with entirely too much time to ponder mortality, the nature of the universe and the various ups and downs of my life. I cracked, and I fear I remain cracked - I've managed to strain at least one friendship in the midst of this internal crisis I've been having.

So uh, yeah. This is why I haven't been myself lately. It should probably take a lot more than this to derail me so completely, but I've never been the most put together kind of guy. My apologies to anyone I've concerned, normal programming should resume at... Some point.
