Artwork, Money, and the Walmart Mafia
General | Posted 15 years agoOne day I will get around to scanning some of the things I've drawn recently... it's been quite a while since I had a scanner, hence the time it's been since I've posted a new picture. I'm trying to get back into drawing more regularly, but I'm finding it really hard to have enough time, between spending 10-13 hours either at work or in transit to and from work, trying to spend time with my mate, and trying to somehow fit 4 hours of sleep in there... Oh well, not like I'm complaining, well, maybe about the work part... =P
Also, I love getting artwork ^_^ With all the working I'm doing, you'd think I'd have a little spare change to buy a commission or something, but no... I have had a couple of people draw for me, though, which was nice. Behold the sketch
maskedpuppy drew for me! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4386330/ *giggles* I also have a conbadge I need to get up here somehow as well. Much thanks to the nameless one (who shall remain nameless) who got it for me! And thank you to the ones who have drawn for me! Forgive my shoddy memory for not keeping names together! >,<
In other, somewhat related news, I seem to have gotten the Walmart Mafia after me. Thankfully there seems to be only one member for now. . . . One of my co-workers gave us a futon, telling us that she'd like about $20 for it, but specifically said that it wasn't a big deal if we couldn't afford it because it was just going toward buying her son a video game. (Said co-worker is about to move to Hungary, and her last day was Friday.) In other words, "Here, have a couch. [full stop] Could I have $20 to buy my son a game? [full stop]" To me, pay for it only if you can afford to. Well, we can't afford to. Period. To the point that if she had said, "I'll sell you this couch for $20," I'd have told her that I couldn't. So we have a new futon now, which is quite nice. Then, almost a week after she gives it to us and says /nothing/ about money at work, I get stopped by another co-worker, who tells me that co-worker A asked to borrow $20 and said I would pay co-worker B back for it. Therefore, in essence, because co-worker A will shortly be out of country, it somehow falls on poor, broke /me/ to pay her debt to co-worker B. Sounds like the Mafia to me >,< I learned today that co-worker B is willing to work with me, though... she'll be "happy to take the couch instead" *growls softly* Oh, and did I mention that there is also a co-worker C, whom A told could buy the couch before she gave it to me? So now co-worker C wants to know if I still have it, because she was promised it first (for money). The worst part? It's a /nice/ futon... *sigh*
Edit: Um, oops, I managed to link to the wrong picture... should be working now though ^^;

Just found out from a friend...
General | Posted 15 years agoApparently,
maskedpuppy's mom had a ditzy moment and threw out over $150 worth of My Little Pony customization tools. She really needs some help to get new ones, and is willing to make custom MLPs for anyone willing to donate $20 or more to the cause. Anyone I know willing to help? Here's a link: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1675246/

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.
11) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to cars or longer lifespans.
12) Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages will for gays & lesbians.
