Hi guys! So I found a new job a few weeks ago, but it wasn't until last week that I was sure that I would be there long-term. I'm working at a pet resort/spa, working with dogs and cats :) It's a good job to have while searching for a career in my field (exotic animal care/training).

Anyway, this is why my progress with commissions has slowed somewhat. No worries though, I am currently working on several of the commissions :) I've also been in a little bit of a motivational funk, so I've been experimenting with dynamic poses and different ways of shading/coloring to use in commissions. Thankfully this, and doing warm-up drawings has been helping! Just wanted to let you guys know why my last few submissions have been personal art.

*venting, sorry*

I dont know what to do...only $17 to my name, & my new job won't pay me for another 2 weeks. Cant afford my prescription medications or to take my sick ferret to the vet (although thx to a commissioner the vet visit may be possible). I just don't know what to do..
I need my prescriptions but since I'm uninsured it will be at least $75 for a visit to a community clinic and then more to buy the medicine :( I quite literally do not have enough money to even pay 1/4 of the visit cost. Called every "free clinic" in the area and none of them are less than $75 for a visit. Free clinic my ass.
I don't have anything of value to sell, and I've opened commission slots to try to help.

I just want to curl up into a ball right now and cry..

This will probably get deleted later but for now I needed an outlet.

My ferret Yuki is now the sick one :( She has been having awful, convulsing sneezing fits that cause her terrible pain. She cries and screams while sneezing, and can't even support her own weight when it happens. This last up to a few hours at a time (I haven't slept well in several days, ugh). I've tried a humidifier and putting her in a steamy bathroom to sooth her nasal passages, but it's not enough. She has always had a pretty bad allergy to dust, and I think as she has aged it has gotten much worse. I need to see a vet to get her checked out and see if I can get her some allergy medication.

Now, I have found a job (YAY), and I should be hired officially in the next week or two, but it will be at least 2 weeks before I see a paycheck. Right now I only have $17 to my name, and I need that for gas money to get to work.

I'm a firm advocate of "If you can't pay for the vet, don't get the pet", but I never thought I would have this period of unemployment. I had a savings of over $1000 for each of my ferrets at one point, but I've spent it all on them and because of my unemployment I haven't been able to replenish the funds yet.

SO. TL;DR: If you want a commission, now's the time to act! Once I get $125 worth of work (I'm hoping $100 will cover the $55 vet visit plus some meds) I will be closed for commissions for a good while.

*I feel very badly for posting yet another journal caused by my being unemployed. For that, I apologize. Not looking for pity, just wanting to work and earn some money for my baby's vet visit.*

So. I filed for unemployment to help during this time of job hunting. I've done everything required during the past 2 weeks, and when I go to claim my weeks, I find out that one of my start/end dates for my most recent job got deleted, and now I can claim my benefits. Lovely.

Tomorrow I will be taking a train to Savannah, GA to visit my parents and grandparents, and I'll be returning the 7th. My mom and dad graciously bought me train tickets because I haven't seen them in 8 months, and I haven't seen my grandparents in a year (longest I've ever gone without seeing either of them).
My grandparents have only one slow computer, and no wireless internet, so while I will be working on commissions, I may not be able to post as frequently (or at all, possibly) for those 6 days. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up :)

My mom called me crying yesterday, and told me that my beloved cat Jade had died from a snake bite. She said he went missing for an entire day (he was an indoor/outdoor cat) and then came back horribly swollen. My mom and dad rushed him to the vet, only to have him die in their arms there. He was only 9 years old.

I've been crying on and off and mostly sleeping for the past 24 hours because of this, and because after paying my phone bill, I literally have $3.56 in my bank account.

I'm searching for any type of job, but I'm overqualified for most of them so I don't get hired, and the jobs that I went to college for (animal care, husbandry, training, etc) are so competitive that you literally have a 1 in 500 chance of even getting an interview.

Things are bad right now. I'm going to have to add more commissions to my list so that I have money for food/bills/rent.

Due to recently moving, I have to give up my joint car insurance policy with another person which cost $158 per month, so $80 per person. Upon asking Progressive what my cheapest rate would be for my own policy (and answering specific questions to get an accurate quote), they said it would be $160 for just myself. I told them I would call them back.

I, simply put, can absolutely NOT afford that.

So. I need to find out:
1. How much Progressive will charge for me to cancel my current policy with them (the new joint policy just started in July)

2. What is the cheapest option for car insurance in Florida??

If you guys can tell me who you are insured by, and what your monthly rate is, maybe I can figure out a solution to this problem. Otherwise I will literally be in debt. I only have money enough for rent and bills for this month, and enough for my previous insurance ($80).

As my last journal mentioned, my tablet pen died, and couldn't be repaired. My awesome boyfriend  failferret was very sweet and bought me a replacement which should be here by Monday. Just wanted to give a heads up as to why I haven't submitted anything in a few days!

My stylus (pen) for my Motion Computing LE1600 is not registering at all on the tablet screen. This is reeeeeally bad because my current income is from commissions, and I can't do those without a working stylus...

I read online that maybe it could be the battery, but I have no clue how to safely disassemble the pen, or where to get a replacement AAAA battery, if that is the case :C
