Went to Charlotte for 2 nights with my roommate, stayed with our friend Lauren, left for the beach at 4:30am on Saturday, stayed all day, came back last night to Charlotte, and drove back to Boone today.

My roommate and I are riding with her friend for a day-trip to the beach tomorrow, and I reeeeeally hope it's a nice day. Then we are driving for 7 hours back to Boone X3

Is it bad that I'm almost glad to have classes start again, because then I won't have so much time to stress over other things? And if I get hired soon I'll probably be too tired to think about anything besides work and school....so...yay? Lol

You know, it would be really awesome to be able to go to FC in January. Buttttt...because I may be moving in January, I probably won't have the finances for that :/ Costs a lot to go from NC to California! Ah well, we'll just have to see I guess.

Had a nice visit to Sanford, stayed a lotttt longer than I expected, but it may be the last time I get to have that much time with my parents for a while, so I really enjoyed it. Got to see old friends, and made some new ones :3 And yes, my friend whom I stated could definitely be a furry...I told him about the fandom (b/c he admittedly knew next to nothing about it), and he loves it! Add one more guy to the dark side!

So yeah I'm back in Boone, and thank god I'll be gone from here in December! The countdown begins...

My roomie has planned for us to go to Charlotte to stay with her friend tomorrow and Friday, and then we'll be making a day-trip to the beach on Saturday, and a 7 hour trip back home that night Xb Should be fun though!

Ok, so this is probably the most simple thing ever, but I'm not sure how to do it :b How do you apply a custom textured background to a drawing on photoshop? On some artist's digital submissions here, I see things like "Used [insert another artist's name]'s texture for the background...". And it's usually just a simple, grainy texture, or something to make the background look like it's been drawn on old or textured paper of some type. Is this something where I need to download the texture (from idk where) and then apply it in photoshop (which I also don't know how to do)?
Any help would be much appreciated! I don't know much at all about photoshop since I have prettymuch taught myself what I know now.

Going to see a couple friends tonight and -most likely- drink. Also, got invited to go to Carowinds on Friday with some people (and they even bought my ticket!). Haven't been there in yeeeears. Mmmm standing in long lines in the heat, lol. I'll just go on some water rides and walk around soaking wet all day X3. And thennnn hopefully hanging out with some Raleigh furs later in the week again before I make my way back up to Boone.

And then school starts again, ugh. But...only one semester left!!! Then I am outta Boone.

Lightning just struck a tree behind my parents house, and I was standing on the back porch and felt the weirdest tingling sensation, like my hair was standing on end. I love storms!! I'd probably enjoy it more if I wasn't alone in this house though, lol. *Goes to try and find the cat...*

Earlier I went to Raleigh to eat dinner and hang out with and and a pretty decent sized group of other furs. Met some cool new people and had an AWESOME dinner: Mongolian stirfry and then Coldstone icecream :d Hung out for a while after and got to play with a skink and some cute puppies :3

As an update to http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1602600/: Sooooo apparently this "abandoned" church is no longer abandoned. Kinda a disappointment, as I haven't been urban exploring in a while, but hey, what can ya do? Lol. Might make a night expedition to the Devil's Tramping Ground before I go back to Boone. Or if any of you NC furs know of any abandoned places around the Sanford/Raleigh/Cary area that are cool to visit, lemme know!

In other news, my friend that I spoke of in an earlier journal (that had good potential for being a furry haha)...he is totally coming over to the dark side X3 I asked him what his fursona would be, and he instantly had an idea. He said he saw himself as a sort of quetzalcoatl/eastern-dragon hybrid with lots of feathers, and he asked me to draw it with plenty of artistic liberty. It's always an honor when someone trusts you enough to help design the look of their fursona!

I'm reading a pretty cool book right now too, called The Wild Road. I was in the mood for a book similar to Watership Down (as I love stories involving journeys), and that book was suggested. It's pretty good thus far :3
