Sooooo yeah I've been feeling pretty under the weather for the past few days :< Weird combination of just feeling constantly sick to my stomach and dizzy, and like I've been run over. No fever though, so idk what it is. Anyway, just letting you guys know b/c I have been getting so close to completing my commissions, but this has prettymuch had me in bed/asleep for the past 3 days. My apologies for commissions taking so long...everyone's are in progress though, and I'm going to try to work on some tonight because I feel a little bit better :3

I know nothing may come of it and it's been tried many times, but please sign this petition to help stop animal cruelty in China. If you think it's not worth your time then watch the video. I did, and thought I have seen parts of the footage before I still gagged and cried for a long while afterwards. The fox at the end...I can't push it out of my mind.

** I kinda forgot to mention, I've been volunteering at a zoo lately and that's where these animals were, lol. The manager tends to hire people from the group of volunteers so I'm hoping I'll get lucky and can work there while I'm in NC for a few more months ^^

Still one of my favorite scenes in a Disney movie, regardless of whether it's now politically incorrect or not, lol. I loooove the crows!

So..went to one of the concerts on Yann Tiersen's US tour last night, as a Valentine's gift from my sister for the both of us. It was at a very small venue and we were able to squeeze our way to the very front, right up against the stage :)

If you haven't heard of Yann, he is a French composer (composed the score for the movie Amelie and other movies) and Indie musician. Last night most of the songs were from his new album, and if I had to compare them (which you really can't lol) to another band, I would say that if you enjoy the haunting and sometimes heavy sound of Muse, you'd probably like the album :) There are SO many different instruments used (Yann himself played the Mandolin, guitar, violin, and a few others) and there were also TONS of synthesizers and even a ukulele <3 They played for a good hour and a half, and it was just pure awesome.

Here are pictures and short videos I took there (keep in mind, the only videos where the sound actually came out decently are the violin ones; in the others you can't hear the vocals very well at all because they were so soft.)

Watched Australia last night. It had gotten some not-so-great reviews from critics saying it was too long, but I actually really like to get involved in the story and get to know the characters, so I loved it :) Nothing worse in a movie than having it feel rushed, imo.

Apparently in the UK, there is a planned cull of crows and magpies >:( This is because some organizations think they are the cause of songbird decline, but extensive scientific studies have shown that this is NOT the case. A very kind watcher of mine informed me of someone on facebook is using a picture of mine as their own. The picture is one I drew months ago and never got around to coloring. Apparently this person colored it, but with the exact colors of Trigger and Remy (with the exception of Trigger's eyes being green instead of brown) and then wrote their own character names above them. Oh, and then put their own watermark on it. So I guess you could say this is character theft as well as art theft.

Wow, 9 days since my last journal...it's a new record! Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know I'm working on your commissions/trades :) I've been ridiculously busy with moving (and I'm STILL unpacking the endless barrage of boxes), but the end is in sight! I officially start on my incomplete classes either this week or the next. This should be interesting, since I'll have to go up to Boone every time they want me to take a quiz or test, or make a presentation lol. Woo 3 hour drive at least once a week probably! :b

As for all of you going to FC: I'm jealous!! I wish you all the best though, have fun in Cali, and safe travels there and back! I really do need to get my butt out there...haven't been since I was 12 or 13. I'm going to try my hardest to get to FWA though!

I won't recount everything that has happened over the past year because that would take forevvvver, but there were absolutely wonderful times that will forever stay in my memory and in my heart. I cannot properly express in words how grateful I am to have had some of my happiest times in this past year. There have also been bad times, but that's life, eh? Here's to another new day (since really, every day can be the fresh start, the new beginning that some people want or need).

I will be spending the evening mostly with my sister, I believe, and I'm sure there are some adventures to be had tonight, as we always find odd and fun things to do :)

I have no shame in saying that this melody has always been one of the most beautiful pieces done for a movie, to me at least. There are not many scores from animated movies that really hit that spot in my heart, but this has always been one, without a doubt. Close you eyes and take a listen...see where it takes you :)
