The "Lion King Fan Meetup" panel is Friday, from 8:00-9:00PM in the Performance Hall in the DLCC.

The "Careers In The Animal Field" panel is Sunday, from 11:30AM-12:30PM in the Meeting Room in the DLCC.

Hoping you guys can attend! The Lion King Meetup is gonna be awesome and I have some pretty amazing prizes for our usual trivia game at the end of the panel! Swing by and meet some other fans of TLK and show off your TLK pride! ROARRRRR!

I don't really post many FA journals but this weekend was epic and I felt like I had to say something about it somewhere.

This year was my 10th Anthrocon. I went to my first one when I was 18 and fresh out of high school. We've come a long way from that con at the Adams Mark. When I reflect on all the amazing adventures, friendships, experiences, and stories to come from the past ten years, I really hold a special place for Anthrocon in my heart. Out of all the cons I've been to during my time in the fandom, AC continues to be the highlight of my year and something I look forward to more than any other vacation.

With that being said, this Anthrocon was one for the memory books. I first want to thank EVERYONE who attended my panels. Your support touches my heart beyond words and I can't express enough how much it means to me. I hope to continue to host panels in the future and give back a little bit to the community that gives me so much.

I also want to say thank you to all the very flattering comments about how you all miss my  roogear t-shirts. I had no idea! I will confess I sorta let the project fade into the darkness. At the time I started RooGear there wasn't much in means of furry themed t-shirts. However, I felt over the years that competition just got too high and providing wears people would enjoy was something I no longer needed to provide. I was proven wrong this weekend! The feed back on how much my products are missed was overwhelming! I wasn't even sitting down 5 minutes in the dealers before I was asked "Where are your t-shirts?!?!" Perhaps RooGear may just have to make a return......

Other than that, I had a few other highlights. Normally I do the "shoutouts" thing, but I think this year I rather just say - I had amazing time which each and everyone one of you that I got to hang with. Arriving Wednesday is now a must for me. While I regrettably still did not go to the museum as planned (damn it one of these days I will see dinosaurs!) I still LOVED having the extra day. Between  sophiecabra's dealers table, panels, parties, dinners, and fursuiting - the days were just packed, but I sure did have a blast. I made a number of "new" friends this weekend. I put the word new in quotes because while I've known of these fine people for some time now, I am ever so happy I got to really connect with them on a new level this AC. You guys know who you are. Thank you for the booze, the laughs, and the company. I seriously cannot wait until we get to do it again :)

I hope everyone picked up a copy of the  caterwall ashcan that Sofawolf was passing out. I have a feeling with the comic's release next year I have another epic Anthrocon in store.

PCD is not something that normally hits me much anymore after so many years and so many cons BUT I have a feeling this year is gonna be a little different... I already am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things not to mention I also return to work tomorrow. I think my favorite things about AC these days is that it is hard to hide 5,000+ people and it is going to be hard not seeing familiar faces wherever I go. Hell, I even had a blast at the airport!

I think I've rambled on enough... I look ahead to the adventures yet to come, and I thank this AC for reminding me of the driving reason I attending these conventions. I miss you all so much already.

So they released the AC schedule!

Looks like I'll be hosting not one but TWO panels this year!

First one is I'm bring back the very successful Lion King Fandom Meet and Greet panel. It is Friday night at 7pm. Meet up, talk TLK, win some prizes in the trivia game (I have some pretty epic prizes this year!) and just meet and hang with others who have TLK inspired fandom characters. I know the TLK furs have been around for many years now so keeping the spirit alive and welcoming anyone who has been a part of the fandom new and old!

My second panel is gonna be a new one for me. It is called Careers in the Animal Field and it is Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Gather up and share stories, tips, and ask questions regarding working with animals. I'm hoping to collect a few other friends of mine who also work in the field so we can make the hour a very entertaining one and hopefully offer some insight to what it is like to share your life with animals everyday.

So please - if you're hangin' and looking for something fun to do swing by my panels! I'd love the support and company. Spread the word! Thanks guys :)

I don't normally post con reports on FA, but what the hell - figured I'd do it this go around because I feel a few words should be said to the people that made the con so awesome for me.

I still stand by my opinion that I like bigger cons better. I dunno, I guess the energy just feels high and I love knowing so many people. This con was very different for me because I hardly knew anyone there. It was weird to wear my suit and have people not familiar with a character that is now 3 years old and has been to more cons that I could count. Won't lie, it was refreshing! Like having a new suit all over again.

I spent a lot of time keeping  sophiecabra company at her dealers which is always fun to people watch. The con did have its fair share of the... interesting... variety, but really that was its only down side. The hotel was AMAZING to suit in. So easy, everything was so close to the room, and best part - no need for an elevator!

In addition to the con I must say the food to be had in the near by area was so awesome. I got to eat Texas BBQ, Tex-Mex, In & Out, and even dinner at The Magic Time Machine. So much better than the normal con diet of pizza and subs. I also enjoyed a night out on the town in Dallas and went to a Stars hockey game.

 merystic and  rapier4 - It was so awesome meeting you both! Thanks for the beer and the laughs! I hope to hang out with you again in the future! Beer and cats rule. ;) <3

Finally,  skuma and  animecat R.B., Thanks for keeping me company at the table and all your attempts at rescuing me from hungry and coffee needs ;) You're awesome! and Animecat, it was such a pleasure getting to know you more this con. Thanks for all your help!

Been sorta in a rut lately and feeling a vacation might be in order. It comes at a rough time with a move on the horizon which could be costly... but man, the idea of MFF is just more and more appealing. I'm also being taunted with cheap flights. GAH. I could mange taking a sick day off work and do Thursday-Sunday. Would travel light, shove Derby in a carry on or something. I DUNNO.

Who is going? I would need to figure out a room too. Had someone offer but is checking with their roomies first so not 100% if someone has something else.  sophiecabra is also looking, though we do not have to stay together. She'll be working most of the con anyway, I just wanna hang out, drink and suit!

Still all up in the air... people convince me! XD

Anthrocon was AMAZING this year. Major props to staff, panel hosts, dealers, and all the amazing people that helped make it the best yet! I can't get over how epic it was. This was my 9th year attending (ohmygosh almost a decade of AC, where does the time go?) and it was by far one to write down in the history books.

I have a whole new batch of watchers, thank you all! I don't post many submissions but when I do I try to make them fun ones. I'm sure most of my new watchers are due to the pony craze that took AC by storm. Yes, yes - confession time - that was me in the Applejack suit! The suit was made by the incredibly talented  sophiecabra and I can't gush enough about her talents. And before you ask, it wasn't commissioned. I help Sophie with her fursuit work and this was a project we had planned to do for awhile. The suit is FANTASTIC in every way. I had so much fun entertaining everyone and the positive feedback was overwhelming. Thank you all for your support, love, and of course hugs.

We are waiting on some good photos to post up of the suits but if you happened to stumble on some please share! Also, not sure if anyone got footage of our mock "running of the leaves" which we did in the hall before the fursuit parade... it was rather impromptu but my favorite moment of the suits! Also, AJ dancing on the stage Saturday night! I recall someone showing me video so I know it is out there I just can't find it.

So yea! That was my AC! Ponies, booze, and pals. Epic win :D

I had a blast this year. Helped run a murder mystery game that was really cool (thanks to all those that helped in that!). Suited around in Notch, drank, and danced like an idiot. Really one of the best Halloween weekends ever. We carved pumpkins as always too - those pictures are also up there.

For those that didn't know -  sophiecabra is moving to Washington State on Nov. 1st!

She invited me to tag along on the epic road trip that will be hauling her stuff all the way across AMERICA. Since this is really a big move, I thought it would be fun to log our adventures along the way. This way people can check in and see what's up (since we won't be around FA much while on the road) and also something neat for Sophie to look back.

SOOOO -

Last night me and my pals got together to drink and suit around. We got to the drinking part... but never did make it to the suiting part (oops)

The next morning we were recovering relaxing when we decided to order pizza. While waiting we started talking about how it sucked we never got to suit and then the light bulb hit! We got the idea to be silly and hide a camera, get into suit, and film the pizza guy walking in on us watching TV in fursuit.

Here is the video! It is super funny - the pizza guy was a good sport ;) Also should note we were watching TV so he pretty much just saw us watching the tube all serious like



I need to make more videos like this... it was fun ;)

If you were at Furloween last year you might have noticed a blue mouse like fursuit dancing up a storm on the dance floor...

The guy inside is my bestest friend since we were little kids. While he isn't a fur, we did manage to talk him into wearing a fursuit and showing off some of his moves. He is one talented guy :)

He has been trying to break out into the music world since we left high school and I am happy to say he is really making a name for himself out in LA playing night clubs in Hollywood and such. I'm so proud of him I wanted to show off his dance moves and share his new song with you (which you can now get on itunes!)

 antimon (*best Nala voice* With my help!) is hosting a panel at Anthrocon to have a meet and greet for Lion King fans new and old. We are talkin' about people who were active on lionking.org, any of the TLKMUCKs, role playing forums/chats, or just TLK-Universe in general. The Lion King was a big gateway into furry for me, and thanks to being active on the forums and TLK-RPG I found this fandom :)

Wow I kinda forget to ever write in this journal, LOL

I figured I'd throw my two cents in on the Elliot's event.

Personally, I loved it! There really is no event quite like it.

The hotel is the cheapest I've ever paid and the rooms were big with mini fridges!

The event itself only cost $15 bucks BUT you get $10 back to spend in the dealers den! I spent mine on two awesome sketches in my sketchbook from two artists I rarely ever get the chance to score art from.

I arrived at the event Friday afternoon. I missed out on free funspot, but arrived in time to get my free movie ticket to see Shrek 4 in 3D. While at the movie they handed our prizes for trivia and Sophie Cabra won the art of Madagascar 2 book! That book is worth like $80 bucks! The movie was pretty good, always more enjoyable when viewing with an ENTIRE theatre full of people you know, haha!

Of course got my drink on once we got back to the hotel and crashed sometime around 3am. Slept in and just enjoyed the afternoon. Hit up the dealers den then got ready for the afternoon pool party with free foods!

Drank more Saturday night, only this time in fursuit ;) hit up a huge room party, and finally crashed sometime around 4am.

Sadly I had to work Sunday so I missed out on free breakfast and Wet and Wild, but I heard it was a blast :( Oh well, next year I'll plan better and take the day off :)

A huge thank you to everyone that works so hard on this weekend long party! I think it is really awesome that this event happens :) I love getting the chance to enjoy little gatherings like this and I will go again!

EDIT: Thanks guys, i got a lift!! I truly appreciate the offers - seriously if you guys ever need a lift I'll totally be there for ya! :D
