Random Works #1 - A House of Secrets
General | Posted 18 years agoThis is my first time doing this, but here goes...! Good luck, y'all!
A House of Secrets
As usual for this time of year, clouds are beginning to form. It looks like it’s going to rain. This rain might be the one to wash away that little crumbling house at the top of the hill. It’s been abandoned for at least a few decades. Paint faded, roof crumbling, it’s exactly how it sounds: an old, crumbling house. I dared to venture in one day, and the inside looks no better than the out add a few cobwebs and old pieces of dusty furniture. A single bathroom, a single bedroom, although hard to discern, it was nothing fancy. Of course, before hope of adventure was lost, one thing did catch my eye: behind what looked like an old fireplace, I saw a set of stairs going down; a hidden staircase! Excited I set down... though excitement was lost as the place had been burnt out, leaving next to nothing identifiable. However, near an old charcoaled desk lay a pile of rubble, and small book in no better shape than the rest of the house. Old, worn and scorched. But where there’s a book, there’s a story, and the thought of the tale of this old house piqued my curiosity! Alas once more, the writing was barely legible when I opened the book... old cursive washed by fire, rain and time. This only formed new questions into my mind: Whose book was this? What was it for? What is the story of the book in the hidden basement of this old house? It’s a mystery I myself may never surely know.
End.
Alrighty~! I hope that helps ya guys get to writing! And remember if you guys have ideas, let me know!
Bonne Chance, mes ami!

What is This Random Works Stuff?
General | Posted 18 years agoWelcome. If you've stumbled upon this page, I assume this may be the question that comes to mind. Well Random Works is a little activity/organization/whatever you want to call it which is working within #FuzzyInk on Furnet to get people involved and writing. Each week, there will be something whether a paragraph or description or such of which can be used as a "Spring Board" per se for the writers of #FuzzyInk to write whether poetry or short stories or whatever! This account was set up to keep weekly somethings and their corresponding works in order for the rest of the group. Also note that donations of drawings, music, writings etc to be used for the weekly works are accepted and much appreciated. This activity is, after all, to get you, the writers and readers involved in something fun, and perhaps also to help you improve your writing skills as well.
