Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, clan <furry> and 2.1
General | Posted 11 years agoHi all! <furry> was full up to 150 members, but I've managed to do some pruning again and open about 30 or so spots for new members. I'm looking for players who are at least paragon 100 and will be actively playing seasons in patch 2.1 which will release in a month or two, likely. I'd also be interested in players who aren't paragon 100 yet but are actively playing (10+ hours, at least 4 days a week), self-motivated and goal-oriented.
For now, myself and many others in the clan will be in low-power mode until patch 2.1 releases, so I'm not currently holding any strict requirements for existing members. Once seasons release, I expect there will be a strong focus for us to all group together, level and gear up and compete amongst one another in Greater Rifts and achievements. If you have any questions or want to join, either apply in-game, contact me here by note or on Battle.net at tag Raeth#1749
See you in game!

Furry Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls
General | Posted 12 years agoHey guys. Just wanted to let everyone know about my clan on Diablo 3.
About 40 strong so far, <furry> has been a lot of fun and is seeking new members. If you play D3, please feel free to submit an application. We currently chat on RaidCall but it's not required.
Also, I will be streaming as much as possible on https://www.twitch.tv/raethfennec so feel free to drop by and say hi, or watch for a while.

Be my muse?
General | Posted 18 years agoI'm trying to draw more, and I find myself bereft of inspiration.
Give me a nice, juicy, detailed idea and I just might draw it. ^_^
(Note: The less "omg my character doing this" it is, the more likely I am to take it up. :P Also, I'm not necessarily doing just one, it's not a contest. If it makes me squee and it doesn't repeatedly come out looking like crap, I'll draw it. XP)

Looking for people to do art trades with!
General | Posted 18 years agoNeed a reason to draw. I don't want to stop, but I can't think of a reason to try.
IRONY! :O *blatant* Hah!
General | Posted 18 years agoIs there any way to just turn off all journals, entirely?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Charity Icons!
General | Posted 19 years agoI'm considering doing charity icons for FA. I love the site. ^_^ It's really great, and I want it to stay that way! Unfortunately, I don't really have spare money to donate. :x
So! Would anyone have any interest in commissioning me to do icons for a few bucks each, with 1/2 or 2/3rds of the proceeds going to FA?

Watermarks
General | Posted 19 years agoI find huge, plainly visible watermarks extremely annoying. Especially on pictures that aren't going to be sold. If it's something for sale, I understand obstructing an image for the sake of security. If half of it's missing, there's no way to reproduce it.
But if it's not going to be sold, you can easily HIDE a watermark in a picture so that it's completely invisible unless specifically looked for, which would easily resolve any theft. Anyway, most watermarks are easily enough removed, especially when an artist simply overlays a flat image overtop or underneath of a picture. Five minutes in Photoshop and it's gone. I've often been tempted to remove watermarks from images and send them to the artist saying I cleaned it up for them. XP Just to show how easy it still is to get rid of it and possibly steal the image. Anyway, in order to uphold a copyright, you have to take someone to court, in their country, and sue for damages. Which, if you're not making any profit off of something, is precisely $0 + court costs. Not to mention lost time and travel expenses or the possibility of losing the case. How many furries who watermark their images would actually go to the trouble of putting up a legal fight if someone actually stole their artwork and used it for profit?
I've shut down several art thieves and the people who are stupid enough to do something of that nature (especially when they're only doing it for the credit of having created the image) and it's pretty easy to spot them. What's really to be worried about is profitable copyright infringement and identity theft. Both of which, there's nothing you can really do to prevent other than NOT post your art, or totally mangling it to the point that it can't really be appreciated.
GOOD IDEA! Watermark your name/website/email etc into an unimportant part of your pictures, so that if someone randomly comes across it, they can find more of your lovely art. :) Sign your artwork in a corner (Lower right is standard, I believe.) Hide invisible watermarks in your image so that disputes may be easily settled. Hell, put in seven of 'em! Draw ANOTHER image for each picture and hide it in the background! Mix the watermark seamlessly into the image. Remember that artist who always hid a little Jack Russel Terrier in all of his pictures? It's a fun little interactive Where's Waldo for those who know your stuff!
BAD IDEA! Watermark the crap out of it. Put a bright red logo that's been stretched out so it looks like crap into the background (or worse, overtop of the image! *shudder*) at 20% opacity. Overlay any 'security watermark' overtop of an image in a visible fashion. Add your name into the picture for non-artistic purposes next to any title or logo which is smaller than the name.
Thoughts?

Just a thought, and for those who actually do this! :o
General | Posted 19 years ago[Edited 3/30 for poor wording, lol. Fail.]
If you are watching more than 400 people, please do not watch me unless you actually have interest in my artwork or intend to occassionally comment.
Those who watch me along with some 5-600 others and I never hear from, I'll be even more evil than to ask you to unwatch me. I'll start contacting you and ask for opinions/thoughts/etc! :O I'll get your tail involved! Wrar!
Why? Because no one can possibly keep up with 1000+ watches, no matter how much free time they have. This kind of activity, which I suppose is intended to draw attention to the mass-watchers or create a sort of custom VCL experience, puts unneccessary strain on the FA servers and slows things down for everyone. It's costing the people who support the site money.
For those few who do it just to attract attention (and I know for a fact some people do it for that very reason because I've had people admit it!), it really becomes nothing more than flooding and/or spam.
If by some chance you happen to engage in such activity, read this, and honestly don't have any good reason for watching hundreds of people, then perhaps you might consider changing your mind.
(Also, I'm really glad that several people responded to this. :) I love getting feedback, especially on anything controversial!)

El Super Cheapo Commissions are OPEN!
General | Posted 19 years agoI'm doing sketch, ink, and color (pencil, marker, digital, or any combination) commissions for THE CHEAP! :O
For now I'm only gonna do just one or two to top off my Paypal so I can hopefully get presents for my collie and a good friend.
We're talking $5 for inked lineart, or $8-10 for full colored pictures which I may do one of just to see how quickly I could get it to my liking. Please keep in mind complicated backgrounds or multiple characters, depending on the situation, may add a dollar or three.
I will do 3" squared, colored icons for $2! (Will be scanned in at 600 dpi and converted to 100x100 _and_ 50x50 icons.) Paypal prepay plx!
At the moment, I have almost no restrictions on what kind of requests I'll take. Just no copyrighted characters or kid porn plx. For anything over $5, half will be required in advance once you see a rough sketch and like it, for cost of materials.
Send me a _NOTE_ (or email! TheFennec[at]gmail.com ) if you're interested. Thank you.

Watchers.
General | Posted 19 years agoI just realized I have a few _very_ good artists watching me, whom I don't really know. Looking at what I have posted... this confuses me.
I almost never draw anything. When I do try, I generally fail miserably. Hell, I don't even draw porn.
But since that's not enough to post about, here's a jump-onna-bandwagon meme.

Been Out again! XP
General | Posted 20 years agoBeen out. o/` Been out such a long time... I can't remember where I came from. o/`
Yes, I actually forgot the name of this place. XP But then, my memory is horrible.
Anywho, I've moved up to Michigan and things rock significantly more now. Unfortunately that means (between work, my Dofus addiction, and hanging out with friends) that I don't have much art time. Nor inspiration. :( I'm working on a new image for a friend, but it's going veeeery slowly.

Lately
General | Posted 20 years agoMust... catch up... with comments and submissions... x.o I've been on a bit of a break while I'm getting everything IRL straightened out. Seems I've barely had any free time, especially with a Dofus addiction to attend to. XD Gah!
I will art for you all soon! Promise! I just need an idea... inspiration. I've had none lately. T_T I hate when I go on these extended art blocks! I can't even work up the inspiration to DOODLE practically. XD
Heart everyone!
People I owe art: NONE! :( C'mon!
Waiting on art from: Lyenuv

Moving in!
General | Posted 20 years agoWell, Sheezy Art threw the last stone, and laid the last straw upon my tolerance for their asshattery, so fuck them. ^_^ I left them a nice little present at http://raeth.sheezyart.com and came back here. Sad to see my old account isn't still here (I had so many watches, faves, friends, and comments!) But hey, I can start over. N'with my old friend TOS on the job, I know things will run smoothly!
So here's to the future! I know FA can destroy the "art site fad" trend where they pop up, struggle a while, hit over-load from mass users and then shut down due to financial issues.
I have a Paypal now, too! ^_^ I think I'll donate some money to FA as soon as I can, and make a game for them. ^_^
