I posted two cute chibi pictures yesterday, one of my bunnygirl Liane and one of her wife, Jessamine, both with general rating, and someone posted a comment on each of them that I only know about because my comment inbox says:
Comment or the Submission it was left on has been deleted.
And when I go to the pictures, at the bottom of the comment stack is a notice that reads:
Comment hidden by the Administration

Apparently, whatever the comments were, they violated the code of conduct in some way and were either noticed by an admin who was cruising posts (or possibly one of my watchers is an admin and saw them, IDK) or was reported by someone. I never saw the comments so I didn't report them. Anyway, if I saw a comment that was out of line and it bothered me enough, I'd just delete it myself and block the perpetrator.

So, I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this on their posted pictures. This is the first time I've seen a comment deleted by admin on one of my pictures and I'm dying of curiosity as to what the comment was, who posted it, how it violated what policy and how it came to the attention of an admin. It's not something I need to take out a trouble ticket on and I hate to bother the admins asking something I'm just curious about but it's like an itch that I can't scratch.

BTW...if anyone reading this DID happen to report those comments, would you please let me know. Thanks! >:3

I was taking pictures and videos of the elephant seals at Piedras Blancas, CA today and lucked into taking this short video of a coyote loping along the beach right by them. Just before this video starts he ran by a group of 15-20 of them, almost stepping on their fins.

Less than 2 minutes in length but with shapes that I've never seen before.
This Hunan Province town is where fireworks were invented and the show has never been equaled in the West.
The Chinese are not only the inventors of fireworks they are, still, the masters.

Our new president is hell bent to completely cancel out all the environmental protections that are in place and would be put in place over the next years in order to please the industries and further line the pockets of his friends and himself. No matter which side you are on in the matter of renaming the Washington Redskins, this is funny. Here is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins.

Dear Mr. Page:

I agree with our Native American population. I am highly insulted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns. The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60s alive. It's offensive to us white folk.

The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men's lives.

I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. It is totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.

Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!

Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits. This is a wrong message to our children.

The New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants promote obesity, a growing childhood epidemic. This is a wrong message to our children.

The Cincinnati Reds promote downers/barbiturates. This is a wrong message to our children.

The Milwaukee Brewers, well that goes without saying. This is a wrong message to our children.

So, there you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue, as they should. Just the kind of thing the do-nothing Congress loves.

As a diehard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the Oregon State women's athletic teams to something other than "the Beavers." (Especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers???)

I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name, I would suggest they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dickheads in Congress.

Did you know what was Napoleon’s most humiliating defeat?

While Napoleon’s most famous defeat was undoubtedly the one at Waterloo, his most humiliating one happened sometime sooner.

Namely, in July 1807, while in high spirits after signing the Treaties of Tilsit between France, Russia, and Prussia, the French emperor suggested that he and his court should spend the afternoon in a rabbit hunt near Baron Paul Thiebault’s mansion.

The hunt was organized by Marshal Alexandre Berthier, his chief-of-staff. Berthier was so keen to impress his emperor that he had hundreds (according to some sources as many as 3,000) rabbits collected for the court to hunt, so that they could spend the entire day hunting. However, Berthier made a critical mistake: the rabbits his men had acquired were tamed rather than wild.

When the rabbits were released, they thought they were about to be fed rather than hunted. Seeing Napoleon, they probably mistook him for the keeper who brought them food and rushed at him at full speed! The hunting party at first found the event amusing, but was soon overwhelmed by the sheer mass of rabbits. They could do nothing to stop the swarm of rabbits and Napoleon was forced to flee, desperately beating off the animals with his bare hands.

I don't know how many of you use notes, but I use them a lot. Suddenly all our notes are being automatically trimmed down to the last 3 entries. This not only fouls up the continuity of conversations, but wrecks RPs! It also makes using notes for commissions unreliable as information passed between commissioner and artist is trimmed and lost. Please join me in asking that the note system is returned to it's usual way. Make a journal, comment on that Update and Site Info header up there at the top....whatever you can do. As they are, the notes are a pain in the butt. I think we deserve our old note system back. How about you?

Liane isn't insecure about much of anything. Her experience, hermaphrodism and vapirism combine to make her pretty confident in about any situation.

She don't need no stinkin' gun! She got fangs!!

Of course Liane behaves differently around different people. Around her friends and loved ones, she's a sweetie-pie who would do anything in her power to make them happy. (barring the occasional practical joke, that is. She does love playing tricks on people. Even her besties!) But threaten her or any of her friends, children or loves and you might as well just give it up. Cause she gonna get you and hang you out to dry.

4: Would your OC want to involve themselves in humanitarian work ? If yes, then for what? If not, then why not?

Not particularly. She stays pretty busy tending her flock of kids and keeping her wife, Jessamine, happy and satisfied.

5: How would your OC generally react to someone being verbally abusive towards them for no apparent reason?

She'd give them the same back, only a bit more harshly.


6: Does your OC have a realistic image of their own intelligence?

Um........Liane may have just a slight overestimation of her intelligence. True, she's plenty smart, but maybe not an Einstein, like she'd like to think. ;3

7: Does your OC have any irrational phobias?

No, Liane's one phobia is perfectly rational. It has something to do with sharpened wooden stakes, and that's all I'll say about it.

8: How is/was your OC’s relationship with their parents?

It's been so many centuries years since Liane has even seen her parents that neither she nor they remember. They don't keep in touch as both her mother and father stayed in the old country when Liane emigrated to her present whereabouts.

9: Does your OC feel a pressure to achieve or are they content and calm with doing what they can at the moment?

As I said before, Liane keeps pretty busy with her home and love life. I don't think she even considers anything beyond that.

10: Does your OC guard their emotions by being tough? If not how would they?

Ha ha...Liane just lets it all hang out. If she's pissed....you'll KNOW it! If she's feeling amorous, likewise. She's one of those people of whom it is said that they wear their heart on their sleeve.

11: How would your OC react to hearing they’re adopted?

She'd laugh, cause that would be a good joke, all things considered.

12: What is one of the most primary things your OC feels that is missing from their life?

I think Liane feels pretty much fulfilled. Her default mood is happy (and maybe horny) so I don't thing she feels any lacks.

13: What kind of situations does your OC avoid the most?

All I can think of is not having someone close to paw that she can either show affection or torture.

14: If your OC gets into a fight with their best friend, would they wait for their friend to make up with them, or would they try to make up with their friend?

I don't think that it is even possible for her to get into an actual fight. Some fairly pointed verbal sparring on occasion but always with the knowledge that neither she nor her friend really takes it seriously.

15: Does your OC consider themselves a good person?

Oh yes! Liane has a very high opinion of herself.

16: Is your OC good at giving others validation of their feelings and making them feel understood?

That's a hard one for me to answer. I guess I'll say yes though because she seems to be quite well liked by all who have known her any length of time. So she obviously isn't alienating them.

17: Does your OC suffer of any mental health issues?

No! She enjoys all of her mental health issues to the fullest!!

18: What kind of intrapersonal values does your OC have? (values about their self, what makes them feel like a valid person)

I don't think Liane is that introspective. She just lives her life, mostly without examining it.

19: What boosts your OC’s confidence the most?

The love of her friends and lovers. Especially her wife, Jessamine.

Not that I'm aware of.

Hurt? Not really. And I wouldn't say often. A nip here and there does't really hurt. More like the doctor tells you right before a shot. 'You're going to feel a little pinch' or 'a little discomfort'. And that's usually in bed while....uh....I'm getting off track here.
Lets just say no.

22: How does your OC usually show affection? Are they openly romantic or more restricted with their affectionate emotions?

Liane is extremely affectionate and doesn't mind at all showing it with whoever she happens to feel it towards at the moment. She is also very romantic with her wife, Jessie, and might even show it in public. She's not shy in the least.

23: Does your OC tend to hide something about their personality/essence when meeting new people? If yes, what?

MMmmm....well, Liane presents as a female even though she's a fully functioning herm. She might know someone for a long time before they find out her dual nature as she isn't quite as comfortable with her maleness as with her femaleness. This is probably because she was born and remained fully female for most of her life until changed into a herm by her daughter, Molly. But that is a whole other long story.

24: How would your OC react if they got humiliated by someone in a group of people?

Liane's personality is such that true humiliation is, I think, impossible for her to experience. She might be embarrassed somewhat by some event or some person, but she'd either laugh it off or perhaps retaliate in kind if a person was being abusive. Laughing it off is her main way of handling embarrassment though.


25: How would your OC process the grief caused by the death of a loved one?

It would definitely depend on the circumstances of their death. If a natural or accidental death, she would grieve for them and gather with the rest of her loved ones for mutual support.
If the death were not natural or accidental, but intentional. She would hunt down the perpetrator and ......well, let's just say from there on out it would NOT be pretty, nor easy on them.

26: What is the most intense thing your OC has been battling with?

Ha ha......if she could be said to battle with anything, it would have to be her vampire linked urge to bite. She often has a bit of trouble controlling her 'love nips' when with Jessamine, and has had the same problem with others in the past, before her marriage. Luckily, with Jessie, she has a partner who can give as good as she gets in this department and it really helps keep Liane in line.

27: Does your OC practice any kind of escapism? If yes, what kind?

She'd laugh till she turned purple if you asked her this! Escapeism?!?! From what? Liane loves her life and couldn't ask for anything but to live it to the fullest!

28: How would your OC react if a bully stole their lunch money in high school?

Ha ha.... sort of an odd question considering she never went to high school, as we know it. But in some kind of similar scene, she would probably have used their blood as a substitute for her lunch. Maybe that would make HER the bully. *giggles*



29: How does your OC behave on the face of a conflict?

A physical conflict? Fight. To the death if necessary. Though she can't be killed except by certain means we won't go into here.....so it would be her opponent's death.
A verbal conflict? She enjoys those a lot and engages in them often with some of her friends and in particular with her adopted daughter, Corrilly. Those two are at each other's throats (so to speak) continually!

30: What makes your OC defensive quickest?

Hmmm....if you're asking for a button to push. Try telling her you don't find her sexually attractive. That might get her going. ;3

To commemorate the day that Vesuvius erupted and buried the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, I am putting my picture, Their Last Day in Pompeii, as my featured submission. And yes, I know the big wall of lava is historically totally inaccurate, but it DID make for a good dramatic scene. Better probably than people running around in a cloud of hot ash, being smothered, poisoned by the fumes and buried as they fell, which was more the way it went down. Though that might have been kinda interesting to try to portray also. Still, I love the way this picture by  jameless turned out.

This is also kind of timely considering the massive earthquake in Central Italy today. Odd, in all the accounts of the earthquake that I've seen so far, no one seems to have noticed the coincidence of the dates.
