A close friend of mine and the guy who originally drew both Dani and Delilah,  GhostINhooD, recently came down with gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD) and needs 1000 Malaysian ringgits (approximately 260 USD) to afford an endoscopy. After a bit of consideration, I decided to go ahead and create a Stoat account because of the looming threat of enshittification on Discord. Out of all the Discord alternatives I've seen, Stoat seems like it's probably the best one because of how it's open-source and doesn't have a subscription service. We've still got a few weeks before Discord's facial ID thing goes into effect, but it's better to be overprepared than underprepared.

My Stoat is r34pixie#8371, and I may be porting my server, Good Beans, over there in the coming weeks assuming Discord goes through with the ID checks.

As you might have heard, Discord recently announced plans to implement an invasive age verification system starting on March 1st, and I'm heavily considering disabling my Discord account in protest if they decide to go through with that. That raises an important question, though: are there any good alternatives to Discord out there? Comment below with any suggestions you might have.

Usually, I'd say that a year feels like both nothing and everything happened at the same time, but this year really wasn't like that. There was just so much stuff going on this year that it was often hard to keep up. In terms of gaming, we got one of the greatest RPGs ever made in the form of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the release of Nintendo's latest console, and even the release of one of my most anticipated games of all time, Metroid Prime 4. As for movies, not only have we gotten the best Superman movie in literal decades, but we also got KPop Demon Hunters, which took the world by storm and showed that original animation could still resonate with the general public.

In terms of my personal life, I picked up a few new hobbies this year, including collecting comic books (mostly cheap stuff with the occasional new release thrown in) and finally taking a swing at daily-driving Linux (mostly Debian-based distros, but I do wanna experiment with Arch and Fedora in the future). I also finally decided to come out as both genderfluid and nonbinary (I prefer they/them pronouns) and, partially because of the current political climate, I've gone all in on being there for those who need it the most.

I know this was a pretty scatter-brained post, but I'm gonna be honest, there was way too much to talk about this year, and I could ramble on about it for a really long time. I just hope that 2026 ends up being a good year.

Not too long ago, I found out that Sofia Ciel passed away last night. I never knew her personally, but I've loved her artwork for longer than I've had my Discord and FA accounts. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if I was subconsciously inspired by her eponymous fursona when I first created Dani a few years ago. Anyway, on top of all that, from what I've heard from everyone who's known her, apparently she was generally just an amazing person to be around, and I wish nothing but the best for her family, her wife, her friends, and her fans.

It's come to my attention that someone's uploaded all of my MLP SFM pics to Derpibooru without asking me first. On one hand, they should've come to me first, but on the other hand, I'm actually pretty flattered that someone thought so highly of my work to reupload it elsewhere. They also seem to be doing very well over there, a couple of them garnering close to a hundred upvotes. Because of this, I'm actually thinking of creating a Derpibooru account and maybe making some more SFM stuff. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments.

 Panda-Jenn, an artist who I'm a fan of, is in dire financial straits at the moment. To make a very long story short, not only is her mother threatening to kick her out of the house, but she also hasn't been getting many commissions lately, which is a damn shame since she's a very talented artist. I know it's been a long time since I posted a story, and that's because it's been a long time since I've written a story. For whatever reason, I haven't really been motivated to write anything, and even if I do get an idea for a story, I usually don't follow through on it. That said, I'm not necessarily retiring from writing stories because there might come a day where that spark comes back to me, but at this point, my FA's basically become a repository for art involving my characters (and the occasional SFM thing because why not).

FurAffinity's back online, and I couldn't be happier. Expect to see a new post in the next couple weeks or so.

Although I never interacted with him or really knew who he was, I have to thank the late  Dragoneer for making this website one of the central hubs for furries all over the globe, myself included. Had I not known of this place, I may not have met many of the people that I hold very near and dear to my heart (at least, not necessarily in the same way), and many furries wouldn't have had a platform to share their creativity with other likeminded individuals. Rest in peace, Dragoneer, and thank you for keeping FurAffinity alive for so many years.

Pro tip: do not disable your FA account unless you're absolutely, 100% sure. I thought I had to disable it for a bit so I could take a break, but when I realized that I couldn't watch, comment, or even fave things, I immediately regretted it. It is a very selfish thing to do because not only does it stop you from doing anything except just browsing the site, but it also makes it harder for people to find you or reach out to you. To reiterate, only disable your account as a nuclear option.

2023 has been a total doozy for me. I earned my degree, I made lots of new friends, I let go of a toxic individual who I thought was my friend, and I started writing weird stories, all in the span of one single year. At the same time, though, this year also felt rather uneventful, but then again, I've been told that every year's gonna feel like that, and time's only gonna seem to go faster and faster the longer I'm alive. My only real New Year's resolution is to keep doing the things that make me happy, and hopefully by doing so, I can make the people around me happier as well. I just wanna thank all of you who've favorited my works, watched my account, and/or even just clicked on one of my stories because it caught your eye. It means a lot to me, and I hope that I can keep doing this for quite a while.

I was working on a request for someone, and I realized something; I almost never finish any stories that I write per request from other people, but when I'm writing something for myself, then I feel much more motivated not only to finish it but also to put my heart and soul into it. Because I've been unable to fulfill most of the requests I've been given, I've officially decided that I'm going to be indefinitely halting requests from people who aren't mutuals. I'll still continue to write and publish stories, and I'll even continue to do trades, but I'd like to focus on writing the stories that I actually want to write. For those of you who requested stories from me, I'm incredibly sorry, and I hope you understand.

Ever since I finished that last story I wrote, I've started quite a few other projects, but for whatever reason, I find myself not feeling motivated to finish them. I know I picked up my uploading schedule recently, but I think I need to take a break again so that I can come back better than ever. I hope you guys understand, and I'll have to ask those of you who requested something from me to continue being patient.

You know, I'm beginning to sense a pattern regarding the stories I upload onto my account. Out of every three stories, the first one is an inflation fic, the second is more explicit but also more vanilla, and the third is an inflation fic. That pattern has happened to me twice in a row now, so I wonder if I should continue doing that intentionally or just write whatever I want at any given time.
