Updates: been a bit slow
Posted 5 years agoSo I've lost about 10 lbs. (+/- 3lbs) so far and I'm doing ok. I'm feeling better and more energetic now. I'm working on getting some problems out of my way and getting closer to a goal I've had in mind for a bit. I'm temporarily stuck on the character in question, because I need supplies to get it started. I'm juggling about 3 at the moment that I've wanted to do since I left Pittsburgh. Hopefully I can get something going soon enough :D.
Anyway, I'm close to finishing up my artspace. I've long struggled with where and how things will get setup, but I think I'm onto a solution and should be ready soon enough. One thing I need to do: Make a To-Do list! I think that's the best way to tackle my current situation :D. I'll be back soon with some new art. I have a pic planned for the Fourth of July, which I'm likely working, but will try to post it early. Ok be back soon :D.

Happy 35th Birthday to Me!

Health Update
Posted 5 years agoSo after my dealing with another gout flare up, I'm doing better. I can actually walk again! It seems like my health took a turn for the worse, but I feel it's more of a wakeup call to redirect myself. I kind of fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed, waking up from whatever stupor I was under. Anyway, I'm grateful to be walking again. My ankle locked up for two days and I could barely get about.
So what caused it? I have feeling a combination of bad habits and bad diet that eventually led me off the cliff. I'm a fast food junkie and xlarge is the name of the game when I'm dying to eat something because I forgot breakfast or lunch. Typical, I'm absentminded but in the best way. All that extra large soft drinks would just build up in my system, all the while I was knocking back entire 12 packs two at time at home. Yeah it was bound to happen again.
But I've gone on a strict diet as I realize I'm no good to anyone or anything hurting from what could be a disastrous form of arthritis. Of course if left untreated it can get severe and debilitating, but thankfully I have the sense of mind to say "F*** it, it's my health I'm getting better." So after nearly a week with minimal sugar I've already noticed changes. I'm down a pants size, so I might be able to fit into my 34's again soon. My joints are a bit achy, but I think it's because I've lost some weight as I was already at my heaviest I've been in awhile. I was up to 254 lbs. as of the day I went to the doctor and likely I've dropped some weight since then. I'm eating healthier too, more diverse foods so as to not allow the build up of the acid responsible for causing my flare up. Also I have more energy and seem to move more fluidly than before, I was usually wound up on caffeine and very snippy. I'm actually clearheaded now.
One big improvement was my back popped where I've been having trouble and for the first time felt a wave of relieve from the pinched nerves in there. I might have crushed my lower back during my early days of work or it might have been that the extra weight I was carrying pushed it down, but it suddenly straightened out and I've been moving better since :D. So I feel I'm going to get better now, it's all a question of maintenance from here on out.
I also noticed fewer racing thoughts common with my ADHD, possibly because I'm not wound up on caffeine to the point I'm overly stimulated. I can actually rest well now. Overall I'm doing better, hoping for a brighter tomorrow. Have an awesome day.

GOUT SUCKS!
Posted 5 years agoI'm going to be laid up a bit with another gout flare up. Thankfully I didn't let it go too long, though I didn't realize what it was the time, only my foot was swelling and felt like glass. Welcome back to round 2, thankfully everything on the X-Ray looks good. No damage thank the heavens, but it's achy, swollen and ouchie all the same time. I'm off to take my medicine. Also my butt hurts, got two shots in the rump one some painkiller and the other a steroid to help with the swelling. OMG the drive home was horrible. I hit every bump imaginable and my butt was aching something fierce.
So I got to go to bed. I have to turn in my doctor's note tomorrow after my boss refused to let me leave. She thought I was playing around zooming about the end of my day on an electric scooter (our stores is the size of a Home Depot after all). But crawling on my belly back to my car and swearing like a sailor with his backside on fire, I made it through the night. I'll be on cloud nine with that awesome painkiller they prescribed me, just have to keep the dogs from jumping on that foot.

Studio Update
Posted 5 years agoI finally got a good compressor to run my airbrushes and my get my pressure chamber running properly soon. I'm just needing some supplies to begin producing eyes. I might even have my first eye commission coming up soon! I'll be posting more info as it comes.
Updates coming soon...
Posted 5 years agoOk with my new work space about to be finished, I'll be announcing some new work ASAP. I have a few more loose ends to finish, but I'll be returning to moldmaking and sculpting within the next two weeks. I might consider opening up moldmaking commissions if anyone is interested in having a custom silicone mold made.
With the state opening up now, I can get supplies that I couldn't get because they were only delivering priority packages with the COVID-19 outbreak all last month. So it's likely I'll be adding acrylic eyes to the mix once I get the proper activators, buffing equipment and a compressor for the pressure chamber.
So in all I'm trying to make the best of an already outrageous new year. Hope you are staying safe out there and observing precautions, hopefully this new year will get better soon. It's tough, but we've ridden out worse.

Lockdown Updates
Posted 5 years agoOk so I heard yesterday on Facebook that the Governor of Tx is going live April 27th with a long term plan for the state. It includes plans for potentially reopening the state as our COVID-19 numbers have begun to level off thanks in part to the precautions we are taking out here. I'm not a 100% on what will happen, only that they are shooting for the first few days of May to have people back on their feet again.
Honestly I'm not going to hold my breathe because the situation can change, but I'm going to remain optimistic about things. Hoping against hope to get some relief from this madness. Thankfully it's given me time to work on some critical steps to getting my studio space cleared out. I'm on the final leg of getting my space organized and actually making things again. I have a few ideas I'm playing with right now, nothing definite yet, but I do play on rolling out some awesome stuff.
I do have a few new pictures to finish as well, get those polished up and posted ASAP. Anyway, hope you are doing ok out there and staying safe. I'm doing my best to help keep the spread from getting worse by staying put when need be. Anyway, hope you all are ok, and that we'll get through this gloom and doom together.

Lockdown Updates
Posted 5 years agoSo I've heard that the state will be trying to reopen May 1st, so it looks like I might be going back to work by then. I'm hoping that I can hold out that long funds wise, otherwise it's been pretty easy. We have plenty of stuff to get us through the next couple of days. I'm grateful for that.
Anyway, we are on pins and needles at the moment. My brother still had to travel to Houston even though all the major cities east of us are closed to the public. We hope that everything is ok, he has to get his scans done. We are hoping he is still in remission, that was a scary battle to fight and hopefully we don't have to go through that again especially with the pandemic in progress. As for me, I'm hanging on. I was in a bit of a depression for a bit, but I'm coming back around with the hope that this thing would be over soon. With May 1st being something to look forward to, I hope to get more stuff done by then.
So I'm pretty optimistic, hoping against hope that we will see the last of this mess and we can get on with life renewed.
One thing I would like to do is travel more. I'm thinking about visiting some places like Hawaii and maybe even Japan and the UK. Granted I'm not sure about how's and when's, but that's something I can look forward to doing. I'll have to look into getting a passport for the foreign travels, but what an adventure it would be to experience a whole other place entirely.
Anyway, what's something you would like to do once this mess over?

Lockdown Update
Posted 5 years agoSo it looks likely I'm going to be home for the duration as the mall finally shutdown as of yesterday(?). News is pretty spotty on what's happening as far as my job is concerned, I might have to file unemployment until such time as we are needed again. In the meantime I'll be making use of my new spare time to work on things here and there. I'll be posting any art now that I make, so that way I can keep on going. Anything to kill the boredom!!!!
Anyway, hope you all are doing well. We are doing our darnedest to survive out here especially with the oilfield shutting down and tons of people looking for work. Stores are limiting how many people can be inside at any given time, and they practically scrub you down at the door. I can't complain, as long as I have food to eat another day I'm good. It's slim pickings out there thanks to all the nut bars that panic bought out the store. Heck I can barely find my favorite spaghetti without having to get up super early to get to a store.
I'm grateful to find a pack of toilet paper or a case of water (we have nasty water out here) that hasn't been bought up out of fear, heck I'm just glad to have found a jar of my favorite sauce the other day. I'm really grateful that my dog has plenty to eat, she an old lady but she loves her Cesars because she barely has any teeth left, but she's just as important to me. I make sure she eats even if I can't, that's how much I love my chihuahua. XD
Anyway hope you all are well. Keep doing what you can to stop the spread of this nasty bug, hopefully the summer weather will slow it down and keep it from getting around further. Stay safe and I'll be back soon.

Lockdown
Posted 5 years agoSo it's been confirmed that there are at least 3 active cases of COVID-19 in my area, 11 in the neighboring town. The mayor went on facebook Saturday that we will be going into a citywide lockdown Monday possible evening. I'm not sure about whats going to happen, only that I'm currently home for the duration of this week. So I'll be working on getting stuff caught up on my end until I know more about the impending lockdown.
Stay tuned.

Working, but some Good news
Posted 5 years agoCurrently, I'm still working through the pandemic thing going on. I'm in a retail job, surprisingly we are still open despite cases appearing in our area of Texas recently. Thankfully we don't have to do much, we are now a curbside service even though we are furniture store. I know right. I'm doing ok, our family is bracing for the worst because my brother is very much at risk to this bug, he's had cancer and is asthmatic. So we are hoping to make it through this madness one day at a time. I hope you all are ok out there, it's been a long month already and I'm ready for this to be over.
I'm tired of the madness out there, I can barely get groceries just for the day to day living. I'm not panic buying like most people are and there is a cosmic justice after all. I hear a guy cleared out every store where he lived of 17,000+ bottles of hand sanitizer and was selling them for a premium on eBay before they shut him down. Now he's forced to give it to charity by order of the District Attorney, which is pretty tough lesson on him. XD Don't be that guy! If you got something to spare and you can, do it. We need more kindness especially now. Be like the guy who sent his neighbor a beer on a remote controlled car, that made someone's day. Heck, even my old classmate had a neighbor drop by and offer them toilet paper and groceries to help.
Still further good news, my Canadian friend gave birth to her third son and is now on the way home after a scary stint in the NICU. Once home a neighbor left them a care package of pampers and an email so they can send pictures as well as thank you. So I'm proud of the people out there making a difference even if it's a small one. It doesn't take much and it's a great feeling to help someone. Me and my mom are still working right now, my mom is one of the essential people helping keep the truckers going. If you're a driver please take it easy on the people at the gas stations, they might not have everything because someone else is busy hoarding things. Please understand that they are taking a risk to keep the economy going in these dire times when many people are losing their jobs. Be grateful they are even open at all! In my area the oilfields have all but shut down, and now we have people losing their homes, etc. So right now, lending a hand is what we can do to help alleviate the stress and pressure this thing has put on us.
I'll keep on truckin', I have some new art on the way. I'll be posting updates on my situation as it goes. No worries as OCD as I am with handwashing, I think I'm going to do ok in these dire times. Stay safe out there.
With love, R.

Hope All is Well
Posted 5 years agoGot news this morning that a major tornado hit Nashville last night just after midnight and there are confirmed 22 dead. I'm hoping my schoolmates are ok, I know a few checked in on Facebook, still waiting on my teacher that moved into that area. As far as I know it was rated EF-3, which is a pretty significant tornado with winds approaching 165 mph, and thus far has collapsed almost 50 buildings after crossing through town.
From my perspective it was most likely pushing an low end EF-4, there was significant damage to buildings and the shot of the airplanes whipped into circles near the airport was pretty scary. It's likely tornado season is kicking off early, especially in since this barely March and we already had a pretty significant tornado. The peak months of April, May, and June are still pretty far off, and it feels kind of ominous that they are starting this early.
Of course this was a worst case scenario, with a highly populated area with a significant tornado at night. It's literally a trifecta of bad in this stormchaser's book, hopefully this season will be a quiet one.

Updates: Concept Art in Progress
Posted 5 years agoHope you all are well! It's been a busy and intense February at my dayjob. The management changed hands recently and we've been killing ourselves to make a good impression on them, I'm quite tired. The visit went well, for what it was, but I think we fell short of the their lofty expectations. Anyway, onto why we are here.
I'm currently in the Concept Art Phase of a project I'm putting more energy into. I'm working on designs and logos, working on a website layout among other things. I've kept busy during the time I could stay awake and have a few dozen crude sketches to work from at the moment. Nothing final yet, but I'm pushing to get things settled before I get further on.
I do plan on sculpting again, this time I want to get a few dream sculptures out of the way before getting onto what I'm working on. I think that would be fun to do. I'm also looking for a new camera, if anyone can recommend a good brand I'm open to it! My original digital camera no longer links up to my computer and it's hard to get the videos, photo's I shoot of my projects. That's the one thing I'm kind of stuck on at the moment.
Otherwise, I'm still here and kicking. Hope to bring more awesome into this New Year.

2020 so far
Posted 5 years agoI know that this new year started pretty rough, with the threat of WW3 and all. It's been a bit of personal roller coaster for myself as recently, I had some issues on the home front that have me reconsidering my current living situation. Long story short, some family drama is got me considering moving out to my own place. I'm still working out the details of that, likely I would like to have my own place by June. I think it would benefit me in the long run.
I know I was absent for a bit during last year, work has been up lately I'm working like a dog (no pun intended) for the last two weeks without little or no breaks. I'm exhausted to the point I'm sleeping in my car and even in my desk chair before I can get anything done. It's been a tough road as last year I lost my dad and survived one of the worst mass shootings in Texas, I've been down in the dumps watching others succeed and feeling like I'm spinning my wheels. It took a bit to realize I'm still moving in the right direction and that in time I'll be where I need to be, so stop using others success as a measure of my own type thing.
On the upswing, I began looking for a personal art studio space for me. My home office is ok, but with the current drama it's tough to get anything done. I want a quiet and dedicated space for just doing my art without me fighting for space to create. So recently I did discover a small building on the southside of town, it's in a rundown part of town and there's plenty of industrial blight (old building ready to fall at a sneeze), but I think it would be a nice place to work on more ambitious things. It's got a few offices and one large warehouse, I could only imagine the possibilities. I'm thinking on a day off (when I get one) I'll ring the realtor over the property and check it out in person.
I attempted to do so on my own a week ago and had a visit from the sheriff because someone at local business spotted me lurking about the property. Granted the area looks like something out of zombie apocalypse, but I guess the neighbors still care bout it. No harm, no foul, just told them I saw it listed for sale and wanted to get an idea of what and where it was. So I think next time I'll call the realtor to have a more proper inspection of the place. XDDDDDD
Overall it's in plenty decent shape for a building from 1950's and I think I might be able to talk down the $800k price tag since my main concern is asbestos and the wiring. Asbestos removal is quite expensive, but I do hope the wiring is up to code because that's an even more expensive endeavor. Hopefully I'll be able to work that out, if not my backup plan is to locate at least two bedroom home in my area. This way I can have an art space and let my dog run free like she should be.
Also it's nice to hear from friends to see how I'm doing. I was surprised by Epic93's awesome gift art, it really made my day! If you want to make art with my characters, don't be shy and note me. I'll fill you on what they like/don't like etc. ^^
Alrighty, have a wonderful evening. - R.

Happy New Year 2020
Posted 6 years agoFinally made it! I'm a bit late to the game this morning because I was *ahem* busy last evening XD. Man my muse was just cranking away and I was punching out sketch after sketch up until midnight, then I had a small party. XD Anyway, I hope your New Year is going alright. I have to get ready in a bit to go to work, I close the first day of the New Year. Yay!
Anyway, here's to another year! Hope you like the new stuff I'll be bringing out :D.

Update: More of a thank you
Posted 6 years agoI know this usually is some obligatory banter about this or that, but I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that's been following me for the last 10 odd years now. I'm doing best to bring the best work I can too you, even if takes a while. I know I may not have many followers, but I'm grateful for the ones who stayed and still visit my work. I'm glad to have the friends that I do and know the many great artists as well.
Thanks for hanging in there and hope to see you again next year :D. Have an awesome Christmas, even if you don't celebrate, and the best holiday you can. I wish you all the best and hope to see you on the flipside next year! I hope you all have Great Gatsby style parties because this is the only time we can relive the roaring 20's. That would be awesome, I would look awesome in an tux!
Have fun and enjoy the coming New Year as we roundhouse kick 2019 out and push on with a sense of adventure to the new one!
Make tomorrow awesome!

2020 and beyond
Posted 6 years agoWith the New Year on the horizon, I'm still hard at work fixing up my studio space. Currently I'm still in the (semi)dark after a busting the only lightbulb in my workspace. I'm currently working via a 4 foot shoplight that's providing light. I'm already planning ahead on things currently.
I have my eyeballs plastered for Texas Frightmare next year because of the reunions happening this year as well as Monroeville. As far as attending as a vendor, that would be awesome. I also considering making my vendor debut at Anthrocon in 2021, so that give me time to figure out the finer points of getting the vendor situation squared away.
I'm also working on production stuff, nothing to interesting yet, but I plan on making some figurines in the meantime. The process is a bit slow, mostly due in part to the hectic nature of the holidays, but I'm optimistic about things going for the better. I have a few supply orders to make before the year is out.
Ok, will be back soon. Take care.

Updates, mostly life stuff...
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone, sorry I've been gone for a bit. Mostly I've been dealing with the holidays coming up and a myriad of things art related. I'm notorious for going back to square one on things, and as of late I've had to toss out big plans in favor of smaller things. I'm actually working out a timetable to get things going and done, which means stuff I'm overdue on will be addressed finally and get completed.
Been doing a lot of personal growth stuff as well, such as learning more about my processes and working toward solutions. Being an INTJ personality I'm prone to perfectionism to the point I stall out and feel burnt out. This has been fixed as I discovered how to exercise my effectiveness side, which has propelled me forward in recent weeks. I'm finally getting the big stuff out of my hair and I can freely work on the stuff I need to do. That being said, I'm working under the motto: "Better done than perfect".
This means simply to just get it done, then I can refine it later. Where I stall is on details because I want to add them so bad once I get an inch closer to completion, so now I'm working on getting the critical stuff done and fixing up the details last. And so my lost YCH pics will soon be drafted up and finished, I'm shooting for December as I want to be ready for 2020 with a new slate. I apologize for the wait on them, like I said I'm terrible at being a perfectionist. Honestly many of the images were actually ready, but again I kept thinking it needs this or that.
Hopefully I'll be back soon with new and awesome things :D.
-Cheers, R.

Update: what's happening....
Posted 6 years agoI just got back from an awesome week in Ruidoso, New Mexico to recharge and get things into perspective. My mom has a new boyfriend and is happy, so plans are that they will marry at some point. Yay! There are also plans to moving to New Mexico, though I'm cautiously optimistic about them.
I'm also cautiously optimistic about a business proposition that fell into my lap recently as well as the potential for said person to be a financier for it to take off. It's somewhat closely related to what I've been working on for a few years now and I'm moving forward. Granted it's a scary step, but I'm working out the necessary details to get it going right. This will include some testing of ideas I have since it's going to be expensive right now to make a full prototype on a smaller scale. I should have full details later on whether or not we move forward, especially with the backing portion.
In the meantime I'll keep updating on how things progress. I have to hurry because I'm waiting on an important call and have to get ready soon for work.

Updates
Posted 6 years agoBeen grinding along the last month or so, mostly working.
I got a piece for my buddy's b-day that I hope he'll love. I just got inspiration on for something awesome XD. Also been learning a lot about my process lately. I have a bad habit of putting the cart before the horse, in essence I'm working on things that matter later rather than staying focused on the now. It's been an ongoing struggle, but I've finally reached a point where I can get things moving again.
I hate hitting dead-ends at times, but I do and often than not I get frustrated and want to quit. So I backup and hit reset often, mostly because I'm following the wrong order of things. Probably why I have so many unfinished projects, but it's an important lesson. I can get myself going again, no problem with that. Just got to be sure to observe what steps I'm on.
Plus not overthink it.
It's pretty easy to but I've adapted a new philosophy that should help me bypass that slippery slope. Ok I'm off to bed. Be back soon :D.

Update: I'm ok and Recent Texas Shootings
Posted 6 years agoYesterday was any normal day for me, I got ready and went to work and punched in at 2:30 pm unaware of the drama unfolding outside. After a few fruitless minutes of tests for work I went about my day and retrieved carts from the parking lot. While tending to my department my mom begins blowing up my phone about shooters on the loose. I figure it's not close to me and I'll likely stay in for lunch anyway.
I tried the local news on my phone and got nothing on active shooters as they would be called later on the news. Figuring it was nothing I was about to get back to my job when the manager called everyone to the front and even on over the radio. I hurried knowing now something was up because of the urgency. Sure enough my fears were confirmed: there was a shooting across the street at Wal-Mart. Immediately we began shutting down the store, the mall was going into lockdown and we are smack dab in the middle of the firefight.
We made announcements that due to circumstances we had to lockdown for everyone's safety. We couldn't really see what was happening outside anyway, but we stayed away from the windows. Of course, people were wanting to leave fearing the worst. We can't rightly hold them, so we began letting them out as best we could. One of our associates manning the doors had his dad pull up and he was gone, I don't blame him. So I took over manning the doors, wishing everyone a safe trip because we couldn't be sure about what was happening at Wal-Mart.
I had to turn people away because we were in lockdown and couldn't let anyone in. I still remember seeing that one woman's face when I told her there was shooting across the street and we couldn't let her in. It was pure terror in her eyes as she ran back to her car. More people would leave instead of staying safe in the store with us. Among them was the three elderly ladies whom I helped earlier. The eldest of the three had to have the other two carry her in, so I got her an electric cart early in the day. Now they were wanting out. So I opened the door closest to the car and let the driver out, then locked it and went to the other door to let the other two out once the car was close enough.
When word came that the shooters were now in the parking lot on the opposite of the store, we moved to the center of the store itself to hide people among the racks. While checking the mall doors, I made sure to note where people were hiding in case of emergency before getting back to them. I noticed a customer who had snuck to the front walking out the main doors after abandoning his merchandise, leaving the doors unlocked and without telling anyone. Being quick on my feet, I rushed and shut the doors, locking them and notifying my manager someone had left the building.
I turned in time to see they were moving people to a secret stairwell to the old building upstairs, so I went to double check the doors and make sure everyone was going. I was about to take off when our cashier offered to come with me. She made a good argument that I couldn't look past; Safety in numbers. So we backtracked to the furniture to make sure no one was still in the store with the help of a Marine that happened to come along. Once we made sure everyone was upstairs, we hauled arse to the upstairs stairwell.
We were safe since the stairwell is well hidden and both entries locked from the inside. The second stairwell was locked at the top and has no door handles to as part of renovations. We could still get down that stairwell from upstairs and get to the street if need be. I began searching the countless rooms and corridors left up there while the rest hung out in the main room for a chair. I made sure there was no other way in and to prevent people from getting lost, told some of the kids to stay put because there were some "open" spots in the roof in some of the darker offices. Mostly it was solid up there, but you don't want to mess about where industrial machines were running.
Needless to say I was in constant contact with my mom, barely got a hold of my brother and probably panicked my sister in law. We were getting mixed reports that there was more than on shooter and than they were shooting at cars on the highway going to the neighboring town. I warned my brother, who finally got back to me and said he was in town. He had past when one of the five victims had been shot dead at a redlight and stopped at friends house to take cover. We heard about the commotion when they said the shooters were now in the mall at Dillard's and the cops were swarming the place.
About that time an older woman and her autistic son approached me about him needing to use the bathroom. Since the ones upstairs were no longer in service (toilets gone and sinks plugged with great stuff expanding foam), we had no choice but to go back downstairs to the main restrooms on the first floor. Granted it's only a short walk but I was on egg shells, making sure the coast was clear and guiding them to the bathrooms. I stood guard outside making sure they would get back safe to the upstairs. By that time a mom with her child and grandmother came down, I escorted them to the restrooms. My mom called to let my know that the police were there and that they were beginning to evacuate the mall.
I let my manager know coming back to the door and seeing the people on the stairwell coming down. We used a fire exit in stairwell to guide the people out to the main parking lot. We told them the cops were in the building and they were evacuating to isolate where the possible shooter might be. I called upstairs to the other associates to go ahead get everyone downstairs and we double checked to make sure everyone was out. Once the people got to their cars we locked up the exits then hurried ourselves to get out of the building. It was pretty tense as the people were running outside to their cars, so much so that the TV station in the mall reported shoes and even a wig was left behind in the fray. We locked up the store and I escorted my manager to her car before running like hell to mine across the lot. Man I hadn't seen that many choppers before and the movie theater entrance was barricaded with trucks like the old "Dawn of the Dead" movie.
I jumped into my car and sped out of there, some guy nearly hit me backing up but I was on the move. I had my head on a swivel and was thankful I could get onto the main road, which was empty. Going home was strange. It was almost empty on the road and every store on the main street was empty, almost like scene from "The Walking Dead". It was so apocalyptic. I put my phone on speaker and let my mom know I on my way home at a redlight and hurried home once I was able to get off the mainroads.
When I got home my nephew greeted me by pretending his was a creeper from our favorite game of Minecraft. Man I don't think Ive hugged him and my mom so hard in my life. In all tonight, five people are dead and about 20 injured. A baby was hit in the fray and they have a gofund me for her in Lubbock where she is in stable condition after being airlifted there. From what I understand there was just one shooter, it started as routine traffic stop gone bad and he shot three police officers in the process. Fortunately they cornered him near the Cinergy movie theater, but he wound up getting shot dead after opening fire on police during the arrest. He had stolen a mail truck after shooting the courier nearby before going on a shooting rampage through our neck of the woods and tried to escape the theater parking lot by ramming a police Suburban SUV, causing the vehicles back end to come up about four feet off the ground. Still not wanting to go peacefully, he fired out the back window until they were able to shoot him.
I don't think there was ever a time other than me facing down a tornado that I had so much adrenaline in my system. Friends from all over were texting me after I posted I was safe during the ordeal. I honestly crashed after I got home. We had family blowing up our phones from El Paso to make sure we are ok. It was a scary day.

Conventions?
Posted 6 years agoJust out of curiosity, how many would come out if I did attend a convention as a vendor? Maybe have prints of your favorite works and even some cool goodies you cant find anywhere else. If anything I'm thinking about trying the artist alley of some local Texas fur con's and maybe trying to for the big one in my second home Pittsburgh at Anthrocon.
I'm thinking up some things to take along and have some surprises waiting at my table, I might even hit up the horror conventions as well for non furry related works. Just curious, I'm still thinking about it regardless :D. Be back soon :D
