If you are under the age of 20 or even if you're older and have no taste for Disco, Slow-soul, or Rhythm and Blues then I apologize profusely for your parents, and possibly their parents lack of instilling you with a sense of nostalgia over what music was "true" in their lives.
The entirety of the album Random Access Memories is an Irony that should NOT be overlooked or underwritten. In this age of technology where any dead-beat door mouse or skilless Rid-X teen with access to a computer can be a musician with Wubs, Dubs, Subs, Drops, and what have you... or a person with a camera and a meat-dress or makeup caked on like the face of the earth can become a 1-lining superstar....
Two robots.... TWO ROBOTS... have brought more humanity back to music than the humans trying to futurize it. Two robots have brought back not just the music of the parties of late Seventies but also the slow remorseful soul of the Eighties and the love-making Rhythm and Blues of the Nineties. They have taken what humanity has shed from itself and in an almost humanistic feat of Nostalgia have transformed it into something that reminds us all old enough to remember or appreciate the music of our past... the Humanity that we've lost.

This is the new me and it is wonderful, wonderful to be me. I've gone through so much in my life. And now, finally? I can't describe how happy I am. How happy I've become over the past three days. It was an awesome, awesome process and it only took one night to change my life.
Of course you're probably asking yourself "oh what in the world did you do to change you life?" Well, I'd have to explain certain things that would only require a deeper explanation of explanations. It's easier to just say that I read a story and it changed my life.
Of course if you read my journals on the other sites you may know me on, you'll already undoubtedly know my life has been changed, but when I'm wide awake at 4:30 in the morning, laughing and blushing with the excitement and joy of simply being me. There is nothing, Nothing, like that in the world, In the world. I would never, ever ever trade these days for anything in the world.
I'm finally me, I'm finally free.
It hurts to do back, It hurts to go back. I never thought I'd be happy hearing the words "it hurts," but I am.
There is so much to say and I can't say it all, but I can tell you... I can tell anyone who chooses to listen....
Be yourself. Find the thing, the thing that helps you be you. You can't be you if you're trying to be what people what you to be. Do not ever be ashamed to be yourself.
I still have days where i wish i could walk down the street and tell everyone. And Sure, sure, i do have to keep my secrets. But for right now, for these past few days I know what it's like to love myself more than anything in the world and i wish each and every one of you to find it.
So if you wake up in the morning and you see this message and you can hear the joy in my voice, know that you can have it too. It was a long time to come to me. It may be shorter or it may be longer to come to you but it will come to you.
You can have comeplete happieness if you just let go of everything and BE YOU.

Let me start further back though. I am a T-girl, transgender, m2f, what ever you understand it. I am and always shall be a lady. it's been a long time to realize it and the monstrosity of my past has only further explained my current realizations in that fact. Now we can continue....
This morning I awoke to feel more like a lady than I have ever before. Oddly, I owe it to an incomplete story. The whole day today I felt in Perfect balance and I was. I didn't randomly run into things or get agitated or aggravated at anything. For years I've had a mask of having a loud/heavy "butch" voice. Today that disappeared.
My mother was concerned at first. A bit worried when she saw me drink. but all day today I have just felt "right" I feel like i'm finally making progress to become the real me. Tonight I did something I only used to do on very very rare occasions after, back when i was a monster, realizing the evils I had done.
I talked to my mother, face to face, quietly, comfortingly... and I cried. My gods does it feel so good to cry tonight.
I told her specifically "there are many things I can't say because I don't have the words or the nerve to." I was being honest. I don't have the words to tell her her son is really a woman inside... Nor do I have the nerve to say them, given her religious beliefs and our current location of residency.
I may yet have to care for her the rest of her life due to her own failing health... and in that, slowly, I'm sure she will see me change into the real me. I just hope that she can accept it. Gods knows I want her to. I'm tired of hiding in the shadow of my father. Tired of trying to act like i'm just a bit "queer," but nothing as blatantly harmful as he.
I do like girls, but I too am one. Today as been one of the best days of my life. I would never trade this day for anything. Today was the day I finally woke up the lady I've always needed to be. The physical can come later. Today.... Today I cast off the last shreds of hiding myself. Today the man in me went impotent.

General | Posted 14 years agoNike, in honor of the upcoming 2015 anniversary/timeline of Back to the Future II, has issued and both confirmed/readied 1500 pairs of a modified version of the Nike MAG "Power Laces, alright!" shoes from the film. These shoes are to be auctioned off on eBay's Fashion Vault and some proceeds of the auction go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation!

General | Posted 15 years agoRecently I was going to comment on one of the artists I watch's works when I suddenly found out I had been blocked by them. This left me confused so i went to send them a note only to also be unable to send them anything. Now I seem to be utterly confused as to what I did AND how to rectify the situation.
What do I do? I really love the artist's work and would love to tell them how much I appreciate and admire it.

The Sunset Limited - Review
General | Posted 15 years agoThe HBO Original Movie based on a play of the same name tells the story of a suicidal professor and a deeply religious ex-convict who debate back and forth about the existence of god, reality, and the emotions humans express everyday.

All in all this was the funniest and most thought provoking film it has ever been my pleasure to view. Samuel L. Jacksons's performance as "Black" was the starkest and most realistic portrayal of what Christians should be while, counterpoint, Tommy Lee Jones as "White" laid down the most coherent argument ever to exist in the context of human imagination and intellectual speech FOR Atheism.
At the end of the film I was as stunned as Jackson was but not for the same reason. I was stunned because I want to meet this professor, like IRL, while Jackson's "faith" was utterly usurped by logic and reason and all possible fortifications were laid bare by Jone's overpowering perception of the truth that is "reality."

MAD(the animated show) on Cartoon Network
General | Posted 15 years agoFrom the pages of Mad Magazine, MAD TV and Someone who will soon be working for William's Street comes MAD a delightfully hilarious cartoon show filled with MAD humor directed at a younger audience...
When I first started watching it I noticed how much it reminds me of Robot Chicken with MAD jokes and skits. (namely Spy vs. Spy)
The more i watched, though, the more i realized that somewhere whoever got this show on the air dogged the PAC(Political Action Committee) for sheltering kids from adult-ish humor. Clearly the intelligence of child programming has declined over the past decade but has it gotten just so ridiculously stupid that MAD can pass off a Robot Chicken knockoff with almost the same adult humor and it be acceptable?

Other than that... the show is 15 minutes long, like a lot of the William Street's [AS] programming, and had the same thrill as sittign through an episode of Robit chicken minus the robot cex and replacing the barbie-fied celebrities with cheap South Park knockoff skits of all your favorite movies.
I give it a Gold Star for the idea but the fact that this clearly adult humor won't last too long with over prudish american righty wing-nut parents tarnishes the gold into a Silver Star.
When I first started watching it I noticed how much it reminds me of Robot Chicken with MAD jokes and skits. (namely Spy vs. Spy)
The more i watched, though, the more i realized that somewhere whoever got this show on the air dogged the PAC(Political Action Committee) for sheltering kids from adult-ish humor. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Spoilers)
General | Posted 15 years agoHaving powered through the books in a month and a half, I have to say I enjoyed the movie.
The title screen for me was the funniest cause I said "HEROES" and people started cracking up.
I said a few other things too like "HULK HARD!" when Jacob hugged Bells in front of Edward and "restraining order..." when Jacob said I can feel you love me
Other then my MST3K commentary the film was pretty damn good. My mother is still all over how much she likes it over the second one.
