Quick note regarding comms and such

It's been a heavy couple of weeks- some shit went down at work and we're all pulling the weight to make up for it. So I've been pulling some crappy hours, as well as trying to finish up my final projects for my classes that are ending this week.
I've -worked- on my owed comms, just haven't had the chance to finish them yet!
I'm hoping to get a bulk of my schoolwork done tonight, whenever I can get out of work. Hopefully then I can dedicate the rest of the week to finishing these comms.
If you're a commissioner and would like a status report, feel free to ask, I don't mind!

Semi-Hiatus
Posted 9 years agoI leave town on Wednesday, and will be gone until Tuesday. In the meantime, I have work straight through to Wednesday, and I have 2 weeks of class to queue up so I don't have to worry about missing deadlines while I'm gone. This means I am temporarily out of the arting scene. I'll still respond to any notes when I have some downtime, and feel free to submit any commission requests, as my queue is empty again. Please know upon request that they will not be started until approximately 9/13.

Terms and Conditions for Commissioning me!
Customer Consents
Upon commissioning me, you consent to the following:
-You are over the age of 18, or have strict permission to make online purchases.
-You are paying with your own money, or money you are permitted to use
-You own or have permission to use the character(s) you are commissioning work of, except in approved instances of fanart.
If it is found that any of these are not true during the transaction, the Terms and Conditions will be considered broken, the commission will be immediately canceled, no refunds will be given, and you WILL be blacklisted for future commissions. An A_B warning will also be made.
Payment
-All payments will be invoiced through Paypal.
-Payments of $100 or under will be requested to be paid in full before work begins, unless discussed and approved before invoicing. In these rare cases, a minimum of 50% of the purchase price must be paid before work begins.
-Payments of $101 and up can be broken up into multiple payments. A minimum payment of 50% must be met before work begins. 100% must be paid before work past initial sketch begins.
-Payments are refundable before the initial sketch is approved. (Details below)
-Unpaid invoices will be reminded after 5 days, up to 3 times. After 3 reminders, the commission will be canceled and you WILL be blacklisted and reported to A_B. If you intend to cancel or postpone the commission, please just say so! Don't give yourself a bad name!
-Payment plans will be discussed prior to invoicing. Generally, I will give a 2-week grace period between payments
Process
-Upon requesting artwork, the commissioner is free to specify as much or as little detail as possible. I may request additional information. HOWEVER:
-If little to no information is given, I will assume that you have given me artistic freedom over the composition and will react in kind.
-Once I have an initial sketch in place, I will send you a copy for approval. At this time, you will have the freedom to give me direction to change the composition as much or as little as you would like.
-Once the sketch is approved, linework and coloration befitting of the commission purchased will begin. AT THIS POINT, THE COMMISSION BECOMES NON-REFUNDABLE. PAYMENT MUST ALSO BE MADE IN FULL (for those paying in installments) BY THIS POINT BEFORE WORK RESUMES. ANY MAJOR CHANGES TO COMPOSITION MAY BE SUBJECTED TO AN ADDITIONAL FEE.
-You may request updates and screenshots of work completed at any time during the commission process. However, please be respectful, and not overbearing.
-Once I deem the commission ‘finished,’ it will be submitted to you for one final look-over. Once it has your final stamp of approval, the transaction is completed.
-Simple commissions, such as quick sketches and YCH, will be finalized without one or all of the approval steps. The small workload of these commissions deems this unnecessary. I will inform you if your commission will require approval.
What You Will Receive
Digital Commissions-
-You will receive 1 full-resolution copy of the image. This will allow you to make prints of your art, if you’d like! For security reasons, .PSD or .SAI files will not be provided.
Traditional Commissions-
-You will receive 1 high-resolution, color-balanced and edited scan of the image. This will also allow for prints, if you wish!
-For a small extra charge, I would be more than willing to mail you the original copy for your collection. I only ask for the small charge to help cover shipping and material charges. Originals will be set with spray fixatif, mailed in a plastic sleeve and bubble mailer.
-I can not be held responsible for the mail service. Any damage is outside of my control, and I assume no liability for it, but I will try my best to make sure it’s protected so that doesn’t happen before I send it out.
-Sorry, I can NOT currently ship outside of the US.
So what can you DO with your commission?
Almost anything! The only restrictions I ask are these:
-If you post the art anywhere, please be sure to give credit where credit is due
-Do not alter the art without permission
-Do not remove the signature (or watermark, if applicable)
-Do not use the art for your own monetary gain, unless specifically purchased as promotional material
-In the case that you commission me for promotional material, I.E. a book cover, a "release of rights" fee or royalty payment will be assessed.
What will I do with your commission?
-Post it on any of my online galleries/sites
-Use it for promotional imagery
-Use it in portfolios
Though it is my art, the character in it is your property. I, as an artist, will respect your property, and not use it for my own monetary gains, save from the initial transaction allowing me to draw your character. This means that I will not sell prints of works containing your character, unless I have your express permission. This does not apply to "cameo" slots or similar commissions. These commissions imply that the work your character will be featured in WILL be sold, and by purchasing a slot, you are consenting to have your character's image used in saleable merchandise.
Any other restrictions?
-I will not draw sexual material. Nothing against it, I am just garbage at it. Tame nudity– sheathes, butts, breasts– are ok. Suggestive material is ok, with approval.
-I will not draw human characters… for basically the same reason. Though I WILL “fursonify” a human character, if desired!
-I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a transaction for any reason, including a personal disagreement with the subject matter. I do have my own morals, viewpoints, and opinions, and will not compromise them to draw something I disagree with for the sake of a few dollars.
-I reserve the right to change these terms at any time. However, I WILL notify any commissioners of these changes, and allow them to remove themselves from the transaction based on these changes, if desired.
-Have fun, and don’t be an ass! I’ll do my best to make this transaction as pleasant and fun as possible. Please have the same respect!

Posted 9 years agoI seem to have this thing that right around the halfway mark through the year, everything just shits the bed on me. I've been riding a hellacious emotional rollercoaster while dealing with some RL shit that's taking a lot of adjustment, and it's affecting my ability to work on a lot of things. Unfortunately, this pushed arts to the wayside.
I'm hoping to get back into it within the next week or so, after the current semester I'm in ends. Hopefully by then the RL shit settles down, too, and I can have some semblance of normalcy in my life.
I probably just jinxed myself. Oh well.
After I get back into the swing of things, I'm hoping to pull together the few projects I've been teasing for a while now. It's gonna feel really good to start on them... I just need the energy and time to actually start them.
Bear with me, and wish me the best. I could use some good vibes these days.

Posted 9 years agoSo it doesn't look like it's a break. Somewhat immobilized for a month, to see if it's just overworking, and then we're going to go from there. Wish me luck it doesn't go farther than that. <3
Good news and bad news
Posted 9 years ago(I'm re-launching this journal, because I put it up right before FA died so... just making sure.)
Good news:
Got a decent sized gift card from my mother for my birthday, so I nabbed the opportunity to get myself a new tablet! It's not much, but it can get me back in the digital business again finally! It should be here by the end of next week at latest, so keep an eye out for digital pieces to start cropping up!
Bad news:
I've been fighting with some pretty nasty foot pain for the better part of the last 6 months. Went to the doctor a few months ago and she diagnosed it as nothing too serious, just something that takes time to heal. Went back today and had some more tests done because this thing just is not getting better, and we discovered it's looking like some combination of three different ailments, including a possible fracture. I'm waiting on the call from the Orthopedic in the next couple of days.
Needless to say, I'm a little freaked out. My insurance is shit, and- as we've learned from the past couple of medical bills they've dropped on us- don't pay near enough to make this crap manageable.
I'm trying not to panic too much until I see the Ortho specialist and know exactly what's going on, how to fix it, and what this crap is going to cost. I can't put together any solid game plan until then.
Either way, if you've gained a little pity through my whimpering, I've included a paypal.me link at the end of this journal. I don't expect a thing, but I do plan to compensate any donations made in some way, as they'll be more than appreciated. This year's been hell for medical bills on the both of us.

In non-screamy stupid. Sorry. I've not been feeling well.
This last year was SUPER hard on me. There's been a lot of major wins, but it was still a very busy, trying time. It's still difficult, but finally settling down and I'm slowly getting back to work. Hopefully this year I can devote a lot more time to making some content for you awesome peeps. :3 Thanks everyone for sticking with me.
Note: I still don't have a tablet. I've been spending my money on more life-essential items. I'm toying with the idea of offering real media sketches in order to fund the ability to get one, but I'm not going to bother trying -just- yet.
So for now, enjoy some real media pieces!

Welp.

Work has been absolutely brutal as of late, and while it brings some serious hours (and with it decent money,) it coupled with the classes I've been taking online have been leaving me with little time and even less inspiration. I know I promised to get the ball rolling but things have just been... frustrating and weird. I am hoping that this month brings some changes for the better, and I'll have more time to get back to my art.
Also, my tablet shit itself, so I am reduced to JUST traditional media.. not necessarily a bad thing, but some of the projects I have in mind would do well from a digital touch. So we shall see.
There is good news, though. The mate and I have adopted three amazing kittens! They're sweet little babies and are adjusting very well, but are taking up a good deal of our spare energy!
SO long story short... yeah, I've been quiet for the past three months, but I'm not dead. Just busy. If things pan out, they should go back to normal soon and I can start working again. Stay tuned!
