Posted 12 years agoSo we're here at anthrocon. Pittsburgh is a pretty awesome city. Mostly enjoying spending some time with my wife and for now, Laying down. Looking forward to everything. Hi to everyone. And I'm caffeinated. Hai...
Well...if it seemed too good to be true.
Posted 12 years agoMy service manager came up to me at the end of a particularly long and difficult day today he thanked me for my honest contribution to his service department and said "I'm going to have to let you go."
I'm too green for what they need right now. I'm not seasoned enough. If they had more seasoned mechanics it would be fine but he doesn't. And that's that.
I've never been fired before. To be honest I always thought it would be for texting on the clock or some such thing. Not for being too inexperienced I an understaffed shop. It's not his fault. Everyone he's had lined up to come in has dropped out on him. And he's under a lot of pressure from his bauss to get things turned around.
I honestly have no idea what lies before me. But I trust The Lord and I'm stepping forward hand in hand with my wife. I have no idea how we're going to make this work. But I have her and I trust that everything has a purpose, even if it doesn't serve what I am wanting.
On the bright side I don't have to worry about getting up for work on Monday after driving back from anthrocon.
I don't mean to be preachy. I'm jus putting my thoughts down as they come.

Posted 12 years agoSo. There's been a lot of stuf going down since fcn. I've had to hold out on my motor project for to buy other things. Tools specifically. Because... I GOT HIRED AS A TECH! It's just entry level stuff, oil changes and tires , but I'm stoked. Also nervous. I've never really done this day in and day out. I was also hoping to get promoted through at the chevy dealership I'm at. And I'm going to a doge jeep Chrysler dealership. Chryslers suck.
My instructor works at this dealership so that helps. Needless to say ill be doing a lot of learning. Kind of a baptism by fire. But I'm still excited. I've been schooling for a couple years and I'm finally getting to the field.
In other news. I have my advanced electrical final. I passed two of my state certs. And ironman 3 comes out this Friday, who's stoked for that?

FCN con report n'stuff
Posted 12 years agoFcn was a great convention this year. I can't really pin down just one thing that stands out. Actually I'd be lucky to pull just one clear memory out of the caffeine and sleep deprived memories of the weekend. The dance I went to rocked even if I really didn't ^p^
I enjoyed spending A lot of time with my wife. It was really nice to spend almost the whole weekend with her. Even though my Friday workday sucked everything worked out.
I'd thank all of you that I met and hammed it up for and with, but I don't remember all of you. You all know who you and your awesome selves Are.
Saturday was great to get some sleeping in. Suited my tail off.

Car project. My car has a twisted sense of humor. That's how the project's going.
Motor project: 30% complete
Donor motor pulled
Fancy fuel injection pulled off to make way for a feral and basic carbeurator.
Edelbrock dual plane manifold : free
Quadrajet carb: 50 bucks
Comp cam, lifters, valve springs and timing set 350ish ( saving $$ for that)
Shorty headers and y pipe apx 300. (Saving up for that too)
Registration and insurance on the trams am: not even thinking about it.
Sharpe's probably going to get really sick of ramen over the next month.
She also has her wrist bound up whilst it heals. Means I get hit with he left hand now :p
If anyone has a spare xtreme energy XE268 cam kit. I'm all ears. :p

Every day knowing you has been an adventure that I will never forget <3 You help me when I'm going through Hell, even snagging icecream along the way. You bring light into my world even when it seems at its dreariest. I have never been more happy in my life and I have you to thank for that. 350 Sbc. It begins...
Posted 12 years agoSo I finally found a guy with a cheap 350 small block. Going to convert it to carbureted from TBI, maybe a cam and lifters. It's set up stock for roller hydraulic lifters. Maybe I'll get to throw long tube headers and y pipe on there. I'm totally going to be broke for the next three months... Yeahhh. So. I don't think anyone has spare Sbc parts lying around.
Also many thanks to my wonderful wife for not only allowing me to pursue this project but also encouraging me. ^^

Posted 12 years agoSo. I literally loaded and unloaded a ton of scrap today. My legs just said no. I am happy though, the owner was quite Apprecitive because I seperated the aluminum and pulled in an extra 50 bucks on the load.

Posted 13 years agowell...just got back last night...got some inking done on page 1-2 then promptly lost my tablet pen...somewhere...fought with my laptop to install things...then to play mp4 videos...gave up and tried to convince it to play dvd's...and so i hate my computer...i guess its really destined to be a drawring only compy...once i get another pen.

so...im on the digital art learning curve now...and i hate it....this stuff will get learned but its frustrating....i've also got this thing where im stubborn and like to do all my learning self taught...without much effort. so im actually breaking down and reading tutorials on how to color and stuffs...what can i say...im a lazy butt.
this whole comic process is going to take a LONG time...i have apx 70% of the EARLY story in some sort of storyboard format...about 10% in a roughed format ready for lineart and about a frame and a half linearted....
yeahhhhh...this is going to be a much longer process than just throwing some colors on it and slapping the internet in the face...yo
but its going to learn me alot...stay posted for roughs to appear in sketches or some shiznit
