Tomorrow is going to suck.
Posted 12 years agoYup. -12 degrees before windchill. I get to work in an under heated garage, dunking tires in water. It's going to suck tomorrow. I'm gunna be wet and freezing.

Posted 12 years agoWell if I could sum up this past year, unexpected changes come to mind. Like the Spanish Inquisition, I don't think sharpe or I ever expected we would go through half of what we did. Good and bad it was quite something to behold.
To put it mildly the taxes for 2013 will be a nightmare. The medical bills are half paid for, I'm approaching the end of my vocational classes, we've reclaimed the dining room from permanent mm rust fur storage to materials storage.
We've met and spent time with a lot of awesome people.
Here's to holding next year is similarly upwardly directed, just a bit smoother would be nice.
2014 is gunna be something else, we have a ton of conventions that we're going to be hitting, sharpe is really starting to get a feel for pushing herself without sacrificing any limbs.
also...dogman 2 will go to DVD, wherein I play a dead wolf-creature thingy. (Hey it was harder than it sounds...I spent several hours a night practicing playing dead :3)
Ummm...hopefully I'll be able to get my engine build completed by this summer, and spend some quality time in my favourite little swimming holes.

Posted 12 years agoSo it's that time of year. The weather has been bitter and so have some of the people. Job still sucks, not as much but there is definently suckage.
But in spite of all the coldness, we have also seen a number of miracles in our lives.
The water pump on our buick was goin out and leaking more and more coolant every day. About half a gallon would leak out every night. Couple that with an overdraft fee cycle with my bank. So I basically didn't turn positive in my account for a month.
This was also the time of year that it started to drop below freezing every night. I had bought coolant and was diluting it pretty thin to make it stretch. And Since I used up the emergency money to stop the overdrafts, I had to save from zero to buy a water pump.
While at work a car that had my torque code on it had a wheel come off, and that warrented me a "dont f**k up again or youre gone." warning. things just kept getting worse and worse, bills were piling up that we didn't know how to pay for.
I ran out of coolant and was putting in a full gallon of water into the coolant resivoir every other day, plus water in the radiator.
It all came to a head two days after the warning at work. It was one of those mornings where you're scheduled to open, and you wake up at just about the time you're supposed to be pulling into work.
I call the boss and he curtly acknowledges a situation he has no control over.
Not good. I make halfway through the drive to work and get on the interstate when the temp gauge starts climbing. I pull off at a rest stop and put a gallon of water in the resivoir and a bit in the radiator, I couldn't wait for it to drain down.
Two miles later the gauge starts its upward climb again.
I'm praying pretty hard at this point.
Worse.
I call the boss, it's getting busy. His message, get here quick.
Steam starts to stream behind the car as I pull onto the shoulder, it's windy, and about 5 degrees without the windchill. I'm at my wits end. I'm late, getting later, a hair's breadth from getting fired from the second job Ive ever had in my chosen field.
I'm a bundle if nerves calling out desperately for some sort of miralcle.
I quickly realize three things. The resivoir I just filled is still full, the radiator cap was venting pressure and the overflow line is frozen.
I realize my only option is to remove the resivoir and dump it directly into the radiator.
I pull the nuts holding in the resivoir and it loosens but refuses to come out. The air of is in the way. Something I don't have time to remove. My options are know dwindling, 15 minutes in almost zero temperatures to remove an airbox I must install afterwards, or walk to and from the next exit which has a gastation and is a little over a mile and a half away to get water for the radiator. Yup. I'm totally getting fired. Career over. Car still broken. Tapped out, Can't pay for anything till tomorrow.
As I look up I notice a white Toyota that has pulled over about 100 yards in front of me with it's reverse lights on making its way slowly back. A middle aged gentleman steps out and asks if I need help. His eyes glaze over as I explain and he offers me a lift to the gas station.
On the way I'm explaining how I came to be on the side of the road and he offers to buy me the coolant I can't afford, it may seem stupid , but I was prideful enough to turn him down. He insists, and also bought me a hot chocolate.
Once again this may seem dumb but I broke down on the way back, yup totally overwhelmed with gratitude. He then proceeds to tell me that I am loved and never alone, god loves me and knows my needs and struggles and is there.
To keep my chin up, and keep moving forward.
Yup I was pretty overcome with all this.
...you don't have to have wings to be an angel to someone. I...I cannot bill this as anything less than miraculous. It's all explainable, but to me. Right the it was the miracles I needed. And an important message that I had forgotten as well.
I was able to get paid the next day, but a water pump and change it out at the school. I've been able to get back on my feet at my job, and earn respect for my skills. I'm not rich but I'm not tapped out either.
Second miracle.
It's kindof stupid but with everything going on over the past three Christmases we haven't been able to get a Christmas tree of decorate or anything like that. No time, and no money for a tree.
I don't know how someone found out, but Sunday night after coming back from our family dinner. There was a little old fiber optic Christmas tree and a bag of food sitting outside the door to our apartment.
It's really a simple stupid thing to not have a christmas tree...but this is our first tree...and we were quite touched by the generosity. And by quite touched I mean we took it in, teared up and then pretty much sobbed because (I know how stupid this is) but it feels like Christmas when I come home, it really has made a difference.
All because someone decided to anonamously give us something they could've hawked on Craigslist.
I don't know how everyone else has been doing but I can say that while my situation hasn't improved much, it is worlds better.
On my way to the grandparents for Christmas Day, back to work at 7something on the 26th.
Have a merry Christmas y'all. And off you're offended by that...well...too bad.

Posted 12 years agoWe all have our share of challenges, right now I hate my job with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns, and I'm as sick as a dog. And I just worked on a day when I tried to call in sick, and ended up working three hours past my scheduled time.
Then I was tasked with takin out all of the trashcans in 20degree weather. My face feels like the fukashima reactors right now. Under a lot of pressure and oozing green fluid.
And I get to show up an hour earlier than normal and work till close on Friday.
But in spite of all the challenges I have a lot to be grateful for. I have a roof over my head. I have a loving wife who still loves me and hasn't shot me for all the stupid things I do. Who holds me when I need it, who is always there to listen when I'm distressed. Who works tirelessly to keep that roof over our heads while I'm in school and workin soulsucking jobs.
I have a family that I may not always fully trust, but at least shares the same mental deficiencies. My father in law has not shot me in spite of all his better judgement, my mother in law offers sound medical advice to not only my wife but myself as well.
I have a close friend I can count on in any pinch, regardless of the time and place. And often as not plays some role in my position on the side of the road.
I have far too many friends and acquaintances in this community who are so willing to open their hearts and offer up their means and time to supplement our own.
Honestly for going through hell, I couldn't have asked for a better pack. Mental deficiencies and all.

Floor wars was awesome, hung out with awesome people, sargash, pony, ino, jakebolt, annnddd several other wonderful furs who are no less awesome. Though do not be unintentionally offended if I don't remember who your name is or what you are.
Aside from pretty much the entire con security being continually as edgy as a nudist in a southern baptist neighbourhood and piss-poor convention event schedualing. I had no complaints. Not like I go to con events anyways. Except when its awesome, like floor wars(o.m.g. I have my brains in a doggy bag from that mind blowing display of awesomeness) and the dance competition (mff has some of the stiffest *snerk...stiff* competition, seriously. They go all out and pound it long and hard.) or my wife's panel on furshuit cleaning in which I was a bad example. Apparently I don't brush enough...my fur...I dont brush my armsleeves or paws hardly ever. Which is bad.
But I do shower... what! I like getting naked and getting in water, what's not to love?anyeays. I also got to yell creative and semisuggestive and funny insulting things at fursuiters after the parade as we all lined up for the picture.
On another note. Why the hell did we get an apartment on the second floor. Those totes were heavy.

im getting the hang of things at work and its less aweful, but still less than pleasant. and 10-11 hour workdays are long. and i kindof hate doing tires and patching tires the belle tire way. because the quick and easy way isnt "permanent"...even though replacement tires are not a permanent solution...aaddadadda whatever...its a paycheck...

Posted 12 years agoSo I got hired and started at belle tire on Monday. It's just changing tires and the usual bitch jobs. After workin at a dealership as a tech, I hate it. I'm coming up on four years of sweeping floors and taking out trash. My trainer is a complete douche who really doesn't know how to do muh more than tires. Hes one of those people who can take a bad situation happening, and mqke it worse. It's 10 hour days with a half hour lunch break. Lol, I don't think I'll be working here for long. How to make wassail aka spiced cider.

Take 4 cups apple cider and pour into a heatable stove container.
In a seperate container mix the following spices. About a spoonful of cinnamon, about half as much nutmeg and about a quarter as much allspice.
Adjust these proportions untill the container smells like Christmas. then throw in bout' 7 whole cloves.
Cut up one smalish orange orange. Or half an orange. Or however much orange you have or want. Spiral cut it if you feel really adventurous.
Mix what you have into the aforementioned stove container.
stir
Add sugar.
As much as you feel as necessary. Be advised, adding too much sugar can result in candy instead of cider and possibly diabeetus.
About 1/4 to 1/2 cup.
stir
Turn stove onto low.
Wait. Stir. Then wait some more. Stir. Then get bored and turn stove to medium.
Stir.
Wait.
Get scared and turn stove back down to low.
Stir.
Repeat untill done.
Drink.
Burn mouth.
TRAINED!

Posted 12 years agoDamn that was long and draining. It's going to be so nice to sleep on our bed. Not that I am unappreciative. Buzz, the Cheif macgyverer/special effects/stubt coordinator/make shit happen guy put us up at the hideabed in his house, and fed us for two weeks straight when we weren't on set. Best boss I've ever worked for.
The acting in this movie wasn't entirely bad, some of it was quite good. I can't wait to see it and share all the juicy details once its done. The actors were all pretty cool. Especially the minor characters.
Glad to be done with this project. Annnnd its mush upstairs. I got nuthin else. Not even snappy remarks
Yeah. Totally went to bed last night with my hands covered in fake blood.

Posted 12 years agoSo I've been up here with sharpe in a more northern part of the state for the filming of a movie. I'm not sure how much I can give away, but lets just say that everything that can go wrong, has gone wrong, been repaired, failed, fixed, hauled off to a shooting site, setup, failed in a very unique and previously solved manner,reworked and re solved by some miraculous combination of hard work and blind luck and then thrown in at the last minute to watch it all tear itself apart.
*tiredflailpaws* as fun as this is I'm going to be glad to have the final cut, wrap and see this thing once it's done. And of course looking for employment then....yeah, looking forward to that like I'd look forward to a root canal.
Oh and I do have a bit in the movie where I'm in it. Me and sharpe in a werewolf movie...totally not some sort of lifelong goal here. *fangirlsquee*

Posted 12 years agoYeah I was having a wonderfully thought provoking discussion on a group post on Facebook. And I do mean that. It was wonderful, they were citing sources and I was bringing up alternative viewpoints. With an admin no less

Then I go back to it this morning and find that I've been:
Labeled a troll
Banned from the group
And had my half o the discussion deleted
My initial posts taken out of context and inserted into the groups photo gallery called the parade of shame.
Apparently there was another admin who dislikes any political discussion contrary to their groups position.
Even though I'm beside myself here with frustration and the feeling that I got squashed because...well lets just say that politically I feel like no one represents my interests and the first time I have someone listening and hashin things out with me. I get BANHAMMERED.
No warning or nothing. And this claimed to be an open minded group for people who are against propaganda.
But I think what really grinds my fears is the time and effort I put into typing pages and pages of text and organizing my thoughts on an iPhone. And it gets labeled trolling!!!!
Seriously if I was trolling....grrrrrr
I feel like the tiny speck shouting at the universe.
It was a liberal group, normally a group I think of as levelheaded thinkers who do t follow blindly. Sure proved me wrong on that one. Ironically in he screencap they posted included my point that hypocracy exists on both sides of the debate.
I still wish I could've maybe opened their eyes to it. That there's two or more sides to every story and both harbour seperate concerns and at equally as valid.
I'm sick of the attitude of you either agree with us or you hate us.

Whatever. I have a rageheadache now.

Posted 12 years agoSooo hai gaiz. Sharpe costumes should be Internet capable tomorrow without continuing to run up our phone bill. That means things like streaming and job searching and general Internet shenanigans may resume. And I'll get I watch almost the entire last season of top gear that I've been missing.
In other news. I'm doing nothing and going stir crazy. I read Enders game in a 24 hour period. The day after I read the first Artemis fowel book.

So...I picked up a book called cold copper
Posted 12 years agoIt has werewolves, guns, air pirates, and a sh*ton of other cool stuff. Well written, drew me in and I love all the characters and their interactions. Absolutely loved the book and plot except for one part. It's book three, out of what looks like a seven book series. And this one is the most recently published. The author appears to be publishing the books every year in July.
So not only do I have to buy two more books to do backstory, more distressingly I have to wait another four years to finish up the storyline. I blew through the book in a 24 hour period from time of purchase.

Sorry this will be a text block from my phone but try to follow it through. was flipping through CNN after waking up from some jet lag and found this little quote from none other than Diane Feinstein. buried at the end of an article on a restriction to the patriot acts blanket phone surveillance: "Separate from the House action, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein has been leading an effort "to see if we can change some parts" of the program to meet privacy concerns. But she told CNN it would be "premature" to mandate changes now while their review is under way.
"We're very concerned by it. I think it would have a very negative effect on this nation's security to cancel out this program," Feinstein said. "This is a program that has disrupted, literally, terrorist plots that would have killed Americans. I don't understand why there needs to be a rush at this point and time."
That is the same senator who spearheaded the movement To make California's ineffective assault weapons ban applied on a national level after Newtown before the dead were laid to rest. With a measure that can only be described as railroading she called for "what the people wanted" before the crime scenes had even been examined, much less analyzed, and now she is saying she doesn't understand the "rush at this point in time" for restricting something that was overreaching in the first place?
It just struck me as a little odd that a senator seen as one of the forefronts a of the social justice through the use of railroading is saying: Wait. Lets not make any rash decisions. Something smells rotten here. And I think it's congress. Not only that but the White House is recommending against the ammendment. What happened to "move before the outrage fades?"

Two years ago...Mush and gush and stuff
Posted 12 years agoTwo years ago today I knelt with sharpe19 at the alter and committed our eternal existence to each other. She didn't marry the perfect man. Instead she agreed to marry me, probably on the grounds that she is as crazy as I am. And after two years of unwashed dishes and the kind of colossal messes I am capable of generating. Ater two years of only cleaning or washing dishes under circumstances that are probably impractical. she still loves me. For all my kinks and quirks and shortcomings.
There is nowhere I'd rather be than at your side. And that is where I'll always be no matter where we are. Two years ago we said goodbye to falling asleep to each other on the phone. We said goodbye to 8+ hours of air travel to tearful reunions. We said goodbye to the tearful seperation at security. To the feeling of "what he hell am I doing" having to travel "home" once again.
We opened the door on the future that doesn't end and to all we are capable of. I have no idea what lies in store for us on The road ahead, but I know that I'm walking through it at your side.
Here's to three and a half years if dependable friendship. To the half of me I can't live without. Of smilin like the sun, falling out of bed, singing like a bird, dizzy in the head. The thought of you still makes me smile.

Posted 12 years agoUm we'll to start. It's OFFICIAL, sharpe and I are both lazy bastards :p. she said that just now actually and I have permission to post it to the Internet.
Second. Anthrocon was a blast. Huge. And someone spent a lot of time working on work things and adjustments and deliveries. We spent a n awesome roads rip with ladyshar 
unwantedcujo and...the other person who's name I remembered the entire trip until just now. Yeah. That person. calicocougar yeah. Her. Anyways. It was awesome got to meet several people who I don't entiry remember.
Wolfemasters gave us some awesome jerky and mio that I've been using at work. We met quarezell. And Mateo. I like Mateo. He's awesome and I enjoyed interrupting the belly dance learning session with him.
OH! And and and I loved the time I got to spend with my wife
sharpe in her trooper suit. Yay a canine fury companion for pizzawolf finally! We were so sickeningly cute it was awesome.
I also learned dancing duke's dance thingy in about half and hour and proceeded to muck it up on film. He can edit me out later. :p
Also had fun dancing my furry tail off sometimes more literally than others.
Anyways. Good fun good time all that.
On a side note ino and cerros are such a cute couple. Really reminds me of our younger coupleing days.
Also it's official as of the end of the day tomorrow I no longer work for this dealership. But I get to go to he family reunion in Idaho with sharpe. I totally thought I was going to miss anthrocon and this reunion trip. We're really glad that we do t have to Dothan alone.
She did IFC alone last year. It sucked for both of us. You never know how long a convention is until you're waiting for one to be over.

Second. Anthrocon was a blast. Huge. And someone spent a lot of time working on work things and adjustments and deliveries. We spent a n awesome roads rip with
ladyshar 
unwantedcujo and...the other person who's name I remembered the entire trip until just now. Yeah. That person. calicocougar yeah. Her. Anyways. It was awesome got to meet several people who I don't entiry remember. Wolfemasters gave us some awesome jerky and mio that I've been using at work. We met quarezell. And Mateo. I like Mateo. He's awesome and I enjoyed interrupting the belly dance learning session with him.
OH! And and and I loved the time I got to spend with my wife
sharpe in her trooper suit. Yay a canine fury companion for pizzawolf finally! We were so sickeningly cute it was awesome. I also learned dancing duke's dance thingy in about half and hour and proceeded to muck it up on film. He can edit me out later. :p
Also had fun dancing my furry tail off sometimes more literally than others.
Anyways. Good fun good time all that.
On a side note ino and cerros are such a cute couple. Really reminds me of our younger coupleing days.
Also it's official as of the end of the day tomorrow I no longer work for this dealership. But I get to go to he family reunion in Idaho with sharpe. I totally thought I was going to miss anthrocon and this reunion trip. We're really glad that we do t have to Dothan alone.
She did IFC alone last year. It sucked for both of us. You never know how long a convention is until you're waiting for one to be over.
Anyways my mind just blanked. So imma post this.

And if you go as vin deisel to a car convention are you a con Dom? And if you're going with your band to a convention and you loose the drums is that a con-none-drum. And if you find a nun to play the drums is that a con-nun-drum. And if you go to con certification isn't that a con-cert? And when you migrate a flag convention is that a conflagration.
