Been super busy with work so not so much time for activity around here. I saw Disney's Frozen right before the holidays and wound up with a new fandom. I used to write a lot of filk (song parodies) for Gargoyles and now I've been up to my old tricks again with Frozen. You can check out my stuff on my Tumblr:

I haven't said anything new here in quite a while. Life has been very busy, as evidenced by 8 1/2 work weeks worth of overtime hours in my final tally for 2013. Somehow I fit over 14 months of work into 12 and still managed to attend three cons and make a trip south to visit friends. Yep, I must be a Time Lord.

Been sharing commissions here when I think to do so. Most often, that ends up being around 11 pm EST, and I'm not sure if the late hour has been affecting views. New uploads run off the home page here in literally seconds sometimes. I really encourage anyone watching me to also +watch the artists whose work I post. A comment once in a while would be nice, too. ;)

Convention forecast for 2014: CONvergence July 3rd-6th will be a big one for the summer. Gargoyles creator Greg Weisman will be a GOH and many of the fans who used to run/attend the Gathering cons (like me) are planning to be there. Lowest ticket prices if you register by the end of the year. I may also try to do FA:U again, and Montreal Comic Con has become an annual must-go.

What else? Oh yes... I am obsessed with Disney's Frozen now. I expect that will be showing up in next year's commissions. Also have been exploring some new headcanon for my Gargoyles ficverse, with Jezebella becoming part of Demona and Andrea's household. Check out my gallery to see how that's going. I also have come to realize that Andrea has a thing for forced transformation, and Demona must have a little collection going of magic collars and potions at this point. Again, check out my gallery. ;)

Been posting some peril themed commissions, possibly at my own peril. I realize that's not everyone's cup of tea, but hopefully I won't lose any followers over it. To that end, I'll be making sure that the tag (Peril) will appear in the title of all such pieces for easier skipping.

Gargoyles fans, have you heard? In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the show, The Gathering of the Gargoyles will return next year as a programming track within CONvergence 2014. Details can be found here:

I attended every Gathering of the Gargoyles that was ever held from 1997 to 2009 (a claim that only I and two others can make), and I'm damn sure not going to let that streak get broken now. :)

In other news, I'm back to uploading old commissions even though I'm still without a desktop PC. I wish there was a "reblog" option on FA, though, so I don't have to upload things the artist has already uploaded... since it seems I can't convince some of you to +Watch the people who make the art for me. :P

Someone on this site - most likely not anyone I've interacted with, but more likely a throwaway account trolling for material - grabbed a number of commission images that I recently posted and put them up on some site called Xbooru. The artists have all been alerted... but I am still highly NOT amused.

On one hand, I'm glad so much of what I commission is considered worth stealing. On the other, it'd at least be nice if whoever is disregarding my explicitly stated wishes would at least credit the artists so maybe they get some more business out of it. Though perhaps it's wishful thinking that anyone who actually spends money on art is spending their time on "sharing" sites where all the kudos and asspats go to the thieves who "find" the art on the internet instead of the artists who draw it.

But yeah... if you want to know why it's taken me so long to share of the art I've commissioned over years, it's because of stuff like this. Art thieves are why the rest of us can't have nice things.

But my desktop gaming rig is. Motherboard apparently got fried last Wednesday night during some pretty crazy thunderstorms. The hard drive was not damaged, but uploads from me here are on hold while I set back up an older PC for temporary use, reorganize digital files, and figure out whether to rebuild the desktop now or get a modern laptop now and rebuild the desktop later.

Let's call tonight an experiment to see how many "favorites" some artwork where everyone has clothes on can get. Just felt like mixing it up a little and letting folks see some older pieces. :)

I also highly encourage my watchers to peruse the FA galleries of all the artists whose work fills my gallery of commissions and view my favorites to see other things I've commissioned.

Saw pics a friend posted of herself in costume as one of her characters, a costume that included a fox head that she made. So now I'm thinking about making one of my characters. But do I start with the honey badger or with the feline... decisions, decisions.

Found some commissions that I somehow missed adding to my Favorites when they were originally posted and wishing it was possible to sort / group favorites. Y'all should see how organized my portfolio books are here in real life...

Rant time.

It really grinds my gears to see entitled people whining and complaining that an artist should be "starving" so they can afford to commission them. Because it's just so gosh-darned unfair that only the people with money can afford to pay what the artist considers a livable wage gets to commission them, the song usually goes. If you truly enjoy your craft you should be willing to do it for FREE, so stop being GREEDY! Because of reasons!

I am making plans to attend What the Fur? in Montreal in May. It will be my second furry con ever, but oddly enough it's being held at the very same hotel where The Gathering of the Gargoyles convention was held in 2004. I was con staff for that. So it'll be neat to be there again. Anyone else going to be there? :)

Okay... so apparently you can't open multiple windows to prepare several submissions at once because the first one you "finalize" grabs the image from the last one you created.

So... what's "What the Fur?" like (June 1st-3rd in Montreal)? Big con? Something else I was looking at in June just got canceled so now I'm looking around for things to do.

There is new artwork posted by  back-of-the-book and  y2hecate featuring my characters. If you are watching me and you're not already watching both of them, you really should be. :)

I'm uploading some commissions that have probably not been seen before, with permission of the various artists, of course. I'm starting with some more recent pieces, but I may share a few from last year and the year before as the mood strikes.

I'm so slow at fumbling my way through the steps to upload, there's no way I'm ever going to run the risk of "flooding", that's for sure. :)
