fucking LOVE Junior Senior.

Been a long summer, albeit a sometimes arduous one, and it's come to an end here at camp. The kids are gone, I'll be packed in a few minutes, and I'll be catching the 11 o'clock bus back to NYC. Thank you, guys, for bein around to cheer me up when shit got bad, to keep me laughing when times were good, and giving me a way to destress on my days off.

A few notes worth mentioning:

- My face has almost completely healed from the damage done from my fall, so I'm happy about that. My friend Josh hooked my up with a haircut yesterday so I'm lookin fresh to death, lol

- My workouts have been paying off nicely; I'm very happy with what I see in the mirror, and I haven't been able to say that in quite a while. There shall be pics X3

- I'm really looking forward to going home to see family and friends. Can't wait to have some home cooking finally, lol. Plus, my girl's givin me a massage, a much-needed one at that. I've got some ridiculous knots in my back, and she knows just how to work 'em out.

*chuckles* check this out. I was helping my campers build a fort in the woods for a massively epic game of capture the flag, right? Well, I go to hand my boy Andrew a roughly 85-pound rock that I just hucked at an almost downed tree (we had tried about 4 times already to finish chopping this fucker down) so we can throw it together.

I slipped on a patch of moss.

Andrew couldn't catch the rock.

I fall a few feet, smack the left side of my face and neck on the roots of said tree, spin and smack the right side on the rock (which by the grace of God didn't land on me), thereby scraping the mess outta my head and giving myself a hell of a fat lip.

Best part: I was unconscious for about 10 seconds.

NO! Better part! I don't remember the next five minutes after I fell when I apparently walked back to the campsite/got a ride down to the infirmary! XD

So...yeah. Minor concussion, a handful of abrasions/contusions to the face and neck, and I'm on watch for the next 24 hours in case I have to go to the hospital.

Sugar Hill Gang. New stuff. AWESOME.

It was really great to hit the weights again. For some reason, I just really feel at home in the gym. Working out is one of those things for me where I can just get in there, bust out my reps, and feel good about getting stronger and seeing myself improve.

Though I lost a good bit of strength and gained some serious weight over the last several months, I was still able to put up some decent numbers: my regular standing bicep curl and tricep extension are both at around 120 pounds, my lat pull-downs are the same, and I can still do 150-lb weighted crunches for sets of 15, which is awesome. Best news I got was when I realized that I still have an almost 600-pound leg press, which brought a huge smile to my face, heh.

As it is right now, I'm 220 pounds. I'm a bit soft around the middle, but I'm happy to say that a very good amount of that weight is muscle mass. My goal by the end of this summer is to lose enough fat weight and gain enough muscle weight in order to be a relatively trim 190. I'll take 200, but I'm pushing for better.

I'm posting this not as some kind of bullshit "hey look at me I'm all brolic and shit" journal, but as a way for me to actually get off my ass and have a reason to work out again. If I kept this to myself, I'd just flake out again like I always do. Now that it's floating around the internet, I run the risk of being called out for not putting in the work over the next three months. It's a way for me to say "well you said it, now you have to do it."

After two different moves from Virginia to New Jersey to New York, a friend of mine finally has a place of her own! The rent isn't too bad, it's a nice area, and it's within walking distance of my house!

Fucking AWESOME. My day is now made.

My parents left this morning with another couple to meet with about 8 more people at the airport. They are all going on a trip to Brazil to build a church on an island in the middle of the Amazon river.

And that's, like, putting up walls and building floors. I'm talking literally building a church.

I'm so happy for them; the chance they're getting to do something like this doesn't come around too often, and I can tell you from personal experience that missions trips are some of the most rewarding things you can embark on. The flip side is that I'm worried as hell about 'em. X3

I finally got an itinerary for my chorale tour!

Nyack College's Manhattan campus' Chorale is taking a select group on a tour of Italy from 3/11 through 3/24! We'll be singing in Venice, Vincenza, Asolo, Feltre, Possagno, and Padova. We were gonna go to Rome, but by not swinging by we ended up saving about $300 bucks by not going. One of the final venues we'll be performing at is joint benefit concert with a big conservatory to aid Palestinian children hurt by the war. It might be televised.
