previous journal was kinda depressing, but thank you so much for the showing of kindness, everyone...it really, really meant a lot and helped me through the first couple of days. taking stuff a day at a time, and I guess I'll just have to wait and see how things go from here.

it's nice to know I have friends here that are willing to give me a shoulder to lean on or a listening ear. sometimes just having that knowledge can mean so much.

2 years...2 years of liking someone, loving someone, but at the same time struggling to find common ground and wishing certain things would change...but that change never happened.

Adios for now, Belle. I hope and pray that you conquer your demons and are healed from the shadows of your past, but until then, I need to say goodbye. If this is what finally helps you become the woman you told me you want to be, then I truly hope that you succeed. Like you said, I hope I'm around to see her.



Basically, after the aforementioned two years, then the last few months of numerous fights and near breakups, today, over the course of...*thinks*...16 hours of texting/talking on the phone, I came to the conclusion that it'd be better for my girlfriend and I to stop seeing each other, at least for now. If things will change and we will end up together again, I don't know, but my biggest prayer is that she's able to deal with the things she admitted she needed to. I feel this strange combination of relief and complete shittiness right about now. I'm not mad at her, I haven't stopped caring about her or her well-being, but this...this just wasn't working.

This isn't a "woe is me, pity me in my helpless state" bullshit kind of journal, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hurting right now. Pray for her, guys, please, and pray for me, too. This wasn't easy, but I honestly believe it's for the best right now.

You might not hear a lot from me for a little while...I'm not leaving or anything, but I need to take some time for myself. I'll catch you all later.

*shrugs* I won't be home to celebrate it; I'll actually be working...but hey, at least I'll be around my friends/coworkers, and my girlfriend said she'd come down to visit that weekend. I've learned a LOT this past year, so it'll be a nice opportunity to sit back, take stock of everything, and plan for the future. ^_^

I don't really celebrate it, but I'm an amateur costume builder, so it's one of the few times I get to actively practice/costume without looking like a total madman, lol XD

this year's theme is Alice in Wonderland, so your friendly neighborhood Boriqua-Fox is going as a GQ white rabbit, complete with ears and paws courtesy of Littlewolf and Ska (I'll link their pages properly when I post pics). My girlfriend's going as Alice, and her costume is...heh...it's hot. Corset dresses and thick hips always make for a winning combination, lol XD

My best friend is going as The Mad Hatter, which is going to be amazing! Really looking forward to going out as the trio again, but I'd love to get more people together to hang out that night (might throw something at NYFurs about it, heh)!

I decided to take the plunge and commit to the P90X 90-day regimen. Today marks day three, and I'm already very, VERY sore, but excited about the future.

I've come to a place where I want to look a certain way, for me. I'm tired of the spare tire, I'm tired of the mediocre strength, I'm tired of pretending I'm in better shape than I actually am in. It's Papi v. 2.0 time, and by January, things are going to be fucking EPIC.

I met an artist at AC this summer; she was really chill, had this awesome cute artwork for sale, and seemed really nice, but I completely forgot to snag her card or FA name/any kind of contact info. Short black chick, a tiny little thing...and without being a creeper about it, very attractive, heh.

I just remember seeing her table in the artist's alley and loving her work, was hoping to check out her gallery but I can't, for the life of me, remember her name. Does anyone have ANY idea who this young woman might be?

on an unrelated note, UFC last saturday was AMAZING. please, please, PLEASE tell me someone saw it.

I'm going to pick up my girlfriend from the subway station in a little while. This is something I have absolutely no problem doing, but the reason WHY I'm doing it is starting to grate on my nerves: I'm escorting her home for safety's sake.

Allow me to explain.

Flushing, Queens has recently seen a legitimate spike in crime, especially violent crime towards women including multiple attacks by our very own, brand-spanking new rapist. It really, REALLY grinds my gears that my once quiet neighborhood had become such that my girlfriend does not feel safe walking home. She's already been almost assaulted once (and the guy who lifted her skirt is is very, very lucky I wasn't walking her home that night), and she was almost followed home by a trio of hispanics on the train recently.

I just don't understand people sometimes...like, the world just seems so broken. I hate the fact that, even though these escort missions have been uneventful in the past, I'm legitimately prepared for a very violent altercation roughly once a week (not counting my time at the dojo). It just pisses me off. I enjoy fighting sports immensely, and I can absolutely handle myself very wel in a street fight, but the notion of getting stabbed in the back while fighting off a half dozen mexicans does not sit well with me (that's not a racially charged remark, it's a legitimate concern in my neighborhood. I mean no offense to any law-abiding mexicans reading this journal.).

*sigh* this isn't some bullshit "I might not come back, you guys..." journal, just venting a little bit before I gear up (sneakers, jacket, gloves, etc.) and head outta the house. It is what it is; hopefully they catch the rapist that's been attacking women over the past few weeks before I find the fucker and curbstomp his scrawny 5'4" ass into the asphalt.

...seriously, the motherfucker's 5'4"! He targets Asian women because they abound in Flushing and are the only women small enough for him to attack! just some scrawny punk-ass hispanic dirtbag. ugh.

I'm lookin for a ride from the Bushkill area of PA to the convention, then back after the con's over. I would absolutely pitch in significant gas money/pay for a meal on the road. I also need a room to crash in, so if anyone's looking for a roommate, I'm clean and tidy and polite and take up less space than a breadbasket!

...okay, significantly more space than a breadbasket, but still! Honestly, I can sleep anywhere, so even floor space would work, heh. I'm hoping that, by starting early, I'll be able to hook up with someone for a room.

1) The phrase "being that" is a nonstandard English expression incorrectly substituted for the correct "because". I'm seeing it more and more and it's driving me fucking insane. I mean, I have a special reason to care because (heh) I was a writing tutor for 4 years, but still, let's all try and keep our standard American English from getting even more shitty, yeah?

2) I'll be auditioning for the US version of Simon Cowell's X Factor in NJ later this month. Wish me luck!
