Adopted two rescue kitties - a cat and a kitten. They are wonderful.

Still got both kidneys and will for a while.

Going to the Grand Canyon this summer!

Well, I have decided to give my dad one of my kidneys. He's been sick the last 2.5 years, and we've exhausted all options. Possibly a donor might come up ahead of things, but as of now, the process starts this friday.

It really wasn't much of a decision, when you get right down to it...

Really looking forward to a great year - our first in our new house. I didn't get laid off work last month, so here's to either finding a new job, or more stability at my current one. I hope wuff finds a new job too - his sucks, IMO. Being a trained Graphic Designer is a tough road to hoe, but he has a leg up since his degree is a 4-year one, and he has a ton of experience now.

On a social note - less and less with the local furs (present company - the people who read this - the exception, of course) as I need to expand my social circle locally with new people I can trust. I'm having a tough time wanting to meet new furs here in Calgary.

It just seems everyone I've met IRL the last little bit has turned out to be a creep...how do i change that? :(

Hope everyone is having a happy Canadian Thanksgiving. Our first holiday in our new house was spent snoozing, then off to our respective families for food :)

Wuff and I will take possession Friday, and will have the rest of the month to move in!

So happy and excited to start with our home.

Today is our seventh anniversary together! Crazy that it's gone by quickly, but it feels like our lives have been intertwined always. I guess after all these years, it's good we are buying a house together.

Well, wuff and I are one step closer to getting a condo. As long as the mortgage pre-approval comes thru!

Despite having some weaknesses and insecurities like everyone else, there's one thing I can hold on to - that I'm comfortable in my own skin and with who I am. That hasn't always been true, but the fact is, I do enjoy being me now. There's room for improvement, I'm trying to be a better person, boyfriend, employee and mentor, but some things won't change.

I know I'm a little rough around the edges, and that turns a lot of people off or scares them from wanting to get to know me better, which is part and parcel of being standoff-ish.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm not going to be fake or try to be something I'm not. I'm kind of who I am.

Maybe that's what actually scares people off - but I'm ok with that because I can trust the people in my life who embrace who I am.

So now mom is sick in the hospital.

Dad - very sick for a long time (18+months - was close to death, just barely recovering)
Cat - died few weeks ago ago due to kidney failure :(
Mom - possibly gallstones (hope that's it...)
(EDIT May 14: having her gallbladder removed today)

I went out and splurged and bought myself some sexy nudie jeans to make me feel better...otter treat.

Just was out buying some clothes today and amazed at the small sizes I fit into.

Things at work may be changing big time this week. Had a great interview with a company in Ontario tho - so we'll see how that goes?

I'd really like to fire up an Ottycon for the superbowl, but it's really hard to find other people that are as interested in the game as I am. I love football, and for me the commercials and food are secondary.

That and I don't like to drink during it...Just eat nachos, pizza, etc.

*shrugs* probably just wuff and i again ^_^

Of course, seeing that it's going to be New England vs (probably) NYG, maybe I won't be enthused... ugh

They're blowing. I'm a bit nervous on how this is going to go and Wuff is nervous too. Could we end up moving? For sure. Do we want to? Not sure.

I'm used to moving, but for the first time, it affects my significant other. That really wears on me.

So Dad's back in the hospital and his surgery is scheduled Monday. Doctor says there's a huge risk here - but I'm still confident he'll make it. Gonna be a rough few days for me though :/

I made my final weight goal!!!! YAY

A total of 83 lbs lost in 18 months exactly. It was slow and sweet, but I also have abs now :D. oh my.

I found a great, low-calorie naan bread at Co-op. It cooks up real nice and is great with hummus.

Part of the weight loss success was building in a Mediterranean diet aspect here and there.

I have so much Christmas candy from the USA. Target was good to me.

I could have screwed everything up today...big time.

I mean everything.

I'm extremely lucky

Got a work trip to the Windy City in a couple of weeks - basically will feel like home, home that I haven't been back to in more than a decade. Yes, I'll be working, but still, only an hour and a half south from where I grew up. Will feel good.

On a side note, there seems to be a bunch of drama going on with local furs, and I'm once again luckily missing it! And people wonder why I'm kind of standoffish(being burned so many times due to fools the last 7 years has made me...jaded??) with the local grouplings. It would be nice to have a small group of chill people to hang with again, though :(
