Famicom Medley (Extended) - Super Smash Bros. Brawl OST
Posted 13 years agoOverflow - Vectorman (OC ReMix)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=OTtTnkBKexA )
Aside from the fact that this remix is badass as fuck, the level of Vectorman (the first one) that this comes from was my favorite level.
I never did officially beat this game. But I found out about its level select "cheat menu" through a dickhead of a friend who reluctantly "gave it up" to me (we're talking about a guy who used to turn his tube television's color adjustment down to black and white JUST so I couldn't beat the special stages on Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and get Super Sonic. All of my what~ ._.).
Vectorman was dat shit.^^ Who else has produced a game where the main player character THROWS HIS ARM BACK, and then THROWS BOTH OF HIS ARMS OUT AND UP to do a DOUBLE FUCKING "PEACE SIGN" WITH HIS FINGERS whenever he beats a boss?!?!
Vectorman: Day 1 - Terraport
FUCK "swag!"
...because "tight" and "nutty" supplied 'me an' mine' just nicely.
Boss Uniform - Phantasy Star II (OC ReMix)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=uDbSsgc4ZMA )
I always listen to this one whenever I'm feeling particularly sexy...
I also used to listen to this one lots late at night while being driven to work on a trolly bus back in '07, or while being driven from work.
That may have been one of the years of the heaviest depressive period in my whole life, but it had its nice points (mostly things steeped in regressive madness.). That was the time where my interests started heavily leaning towards the Sega Genesis era, among other things like a bit of a 'glory days' thing going on back then where every now and then they aired a few epic, old animes on TV. I always loved the Japanese artistry in those old cartoons, and in the artistry of some games, like in this game Phantasy Star II, or in games like "Aleste: Full Metal Fighter Ellinor" ("M.U.S.H.A.").^^

Ax Song (Floor 18) - Ken's Labyrinth OST
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=NnD-K5EFqxE )
Almost hard to call the music from this game a part of an "OST," but there's no doubt that it was all made with love. It's kinda got that Mega Man effect about it, where the person who did the music went all out in simply "bringing it," thus making an impact on everyone who heard what was made.
This is another one from that ancient PC game called "Ken's Labyrinth" (composed by Ken Silverman, the guy at the bottom of the picture). It was a game that had a real "Wolfenstein 3D" feel as far as the graphics went (and sorry to mention that game, since I can understand how it might upset some of the german furs and russian furs here. I only mean to give a graphics reference. ).
This tune...gets me in the mindstate of something like...professional boxing. XD It makes me think of the "Rocky" movies, or Muhammad Ali - something to that effect. x3
The music in this game had ways of sounding like something remotely oriental, if not of some other dynamically executed origin, and I just love that.
Planet Wisp Act 1 - Sonic Colors OST
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=eODArFqHbf0 )
A tune that YouTube user "Voiddragonatma" often used in his "Epic" videos.
I never did play Sonic Colors. I was still fumbling around with my Wii when it was being advertised, but I never bought a copy.
I do like the Sonic games, and I'm aware of certain flaws in certain games, and all the bad rap that haters of the franchise pile on to it. I was still in the Sonic only loop as far as Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes, but I fell out after that.
I don't blame Sonic fans for sticking with the franchise through its high and low points. I've seen comments in places where people declare "Sonic is my childhood." And since I too had a childhood full of very memorable games and game moments - Sonic the Hedgehog 1 through 3, Sonic and Knuckles, "Blue Sphere," () Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, the first and second Sonic Game Gear (Master System) games and Sonic Chaos included... - I can see why they would all still love the Sonic franchise to this day. After all, unlike the vast majority of gloom and doom and blood and gore that you'll regularly get elsewhere on the PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360, things like the Super Mario franchise and the Sonic franchise are just FUN, no mattter the era.
I've been wondering where this tune came from, and after looking at the YouTube description of a Voiddragonatma video I finally found it. I don't have to have played this game before to appreciate this tune, because the first few seconds of it are just gold to me anyway.
Plus, I've heard that Sonic Colors - along with Sonic Generations - were two particularly great Sonic games in general.
THE REVIVED CAPABILITY TO PLAY AS SUPER SONIC IN THE NORMAL LEVELS FTW!
Zebes Rising - Super Metroid (OC ReMix)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=XAvmeEy_U2E )
A beasty remix for a beasty game.
I never really got a chance to play Super Metroid through and through. I never had an SNES back in the day, and even though I downloaded it on the Wii Shop Channel I pretty much neglected it. D:
But I've played (and beaten) Metroid Fusion for the GBA, which mimicked the style of Super Metroid, so I can understand why lots of folks love that game.

What? You thought it was gonna be the Kingdom Hearts 2 song?
A very old S3M format module by module artist Sirrus.
One of many modules of the same name. This one is particularly old though...

Yeah...
Makin' my way down this elevator, smackin' up bitches and hoes to get down there and beat that nerd's motherfucking ass...
One of my favorite tracks from the game, second only to "Leave The Past Behind."
This tune just wins from several different angles.
Also, hats off to the folks at Sega for INVENTING "elevator/mobile platform battle levels" (because if you don't know what "SOR" means then son you are much too young, and I am disappoint...).

Airbase - Power Supply (by Anamanaguchi)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=kDWXD7TTU7s )
This tune is awesome, and I can imagine it being used in a game that harkens back to the 8-bit era of gaming.
I agree with a YouTube comment I looked over. This tune is sorta remniscent of Bubble Man's theme from Mega Man 2.
Calamitous Judgement - Chrono Trigger (OC ReMix)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=AZUUwCI_-zo )
Awesome remix for an awesome game.
Also, it makes me think of themes like what I've seen in disney cartoons, like when Gaston and his fans ridiculed Maurice in Beauty and the Beast, among other general movie themes.
V to the X Power - Starfox 64 (OC ReMix)
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=4KCYXoWkwos )
I love this one. It almost seems to tell a story the whole time you listen to it (and a rather suspenseful story at that! X3 ).
Behind The Scenes - Armored Core 3 OST
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=GFHrKCGvG0U )
This one makes me think of the kind of idea where something brutally implying is portended through the kind of condescending themes that build up to an anti-climax, where one or more characters - or just general groups - suffer something horrible due to things like exthortion or blackmail.
Incognito fail...
Besessenheit (Extended) - SaGa Frontier 2 OST
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=0PJxDpuDCn8 )
"Bessessenheit" is german for "Obsession."
The tune is kinda repetitive, but if you've played the game before, you might remember that this is the tune that was played when you had to face off against "Fire Lord" - one of the hardest bosses in the game, whom you fought near the game's final boss battle with "The Egg."
I never got that far in the game myself. I only played Saga Frontier 2 on and off - loved the watercolor artwork that made up each and every screen of the game's [somewhat] interactive scenery; how they would scale the player's distance from the 'camera' in different ways to show you up close or at a distance, kind of like the scenery in Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9, except the art design of the areas wasn't CG.
I only know of the Fire Lord boss because of my brother, who loves this game immensely. Watching him fight him and hoping that he would beat him (which he did, after several deaths across more than 3 years. XD) was like a past-time joy of mine.
This game is from the PS1, and I think they've already added it to the PSN store.

Snowbound - Earthbound (OC Remix)

This one...is beautiful to me, and very much so. Listening to it used to be one way that I coped with depression - a sort of momentary uplift in a day.
Also, this tune inspired a game concept that I detailed in my very first journal on my

For some reason, this tune makes me think of the high adrenaline action in the PS2 game "Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner." Lots of high tempo, techno-ish rave-ish (*is music illiterate*) tunes make me think of that game.
It also, strangely enough, reminds me of the auto-scrolling, side-scrolling "water level" in the PS2 game "Viewtiful Joe 2."
Desperate Strike (Extended) - Half-Minute Hero OST
Posted 13 years ago(Repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=HdxQJVRKPx0 )
This boss music is just awesome, regardless of the fact that it's only 28 seconds long. XD
I get all sorts of goofy but fun ideas about the words of an 'evil, diabolical' boss when I hear this.
Explore Day #7 - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim OST

I really love this one.
When I think of this track, I think of something like the beauty of a mother's care for her newborn baby, especially when it gets to 1:19.^^
ChainDive - Stage 1 (Sega Megadrive-Genesis Remix)
Posted 13 years ago(repeater link: http://www.youtuberepeater.com/watch?v=x1AA7YB-nFM )
YES (someone loves me... ;3; ).
Also, if you like this tune and want to add it to your iTunes, I have the perfect loop time settings for it.^^
If you use iTunes, here's what to do to make this tune loop perfectly:
Right-click on the tune in your iTunes window, and click "Get Info", then click on "Options". Change the "Start time" and the "Stop time" to the following:
Start time: 0:00.05
End time: 5:32.75
If you do that, then convert a separate music file from the original, you'll have a version of the tune that will loop back into its beginning seamlessly.

This is my FAVORITE track in the game, next to the one from the Manji Valley stage, and the Cemetery stage.

Another Joe (Extended) - Viewtiful Joe OST

...Without the talking at the beginning, and over 12 minutes long. WIN.
Hearing this on 'repeat 1' is enough to get me to play that game on its hardest mode (maybe as Captain Blue or Alastor), and try to whoop "Another Joe's" ass all over again! =D (though I don't intend on doing that right now, lol...).
