Middle of week update....
Posted 17 years agoMonday, do assesment tests. Past it all in an hour.
I go see Nick. He's doing so so. Long story short, lost his ID, no one at the house he's staying with is helping out and he can't find work till he gets his ID. And the other room mates just seem to love to live in a pig style. I never mentioned this cause in the past I am used to seeing a mess that is at least easy to just bag and throw away. But since Nick aperently got tired of being "mommy" and the person with a car could have gone to the dump so many times in the past.....well......the shed is full of trash, the kitchen is full of trash, and the living room is almost full of trash. Makes me wonder if I should report them to....I don't know, authorities?
Tuesday, I got a VERY early appointment with the same place I went to take the test with. SO far I THINK it went well. Not to mention this is the first group interview that actually asked me business related questions. And I was able to get one guy who for the first 1/4 of the interview was hard to get to smile and lighten up. Near the end he was laughing and joking around. And....well....usually I am the one quiet and uneasy. This time I actually was able to break the ice a bit. So the only thing that could go wrong with me getting this job now is the back ground check. But KNOW I should pass it. I passed every single one while in trucking. And I gave them my 10 year work history like they asked. So we'll see.
Then later on, I went to see Nick again. I got him to the DMV, he's got some money left to take care of what he needed. He got his State ID back without a hassle. Now he just needs to go to....I don't know where. But pretty much needs to get his social security card. But other than that, he should be able to get a job. Either way, it's ridiculous that these guys could have just got him to a DMV. And here I am, just doing it the second day I showed myself to this crowd. I don't know what to do about it.
Today, just relaxing. Jury duty is today. But I called in like I was instructed to last night and was told I was not needed today. So I have to call in....actually, anytime now after 5 PM. Voice mail, gotta love it.
Ah well, about it so far.

Ah, Romance Is In The Air
Posted 17 years agoFUCK YOU.
Well, no, it's not what you think.
I got nothing against valentines day. And I got nothing against anyone who loves the day. Nor am I against anyone who's a special some one to share this day with.
Mybe my only downer to this day is I am lonely and when I think back of those stupid Elementary class....er....cheer...for fun. Is we hand out Valentine cards to random people we may get assigned to some how. Or worst yet, use our own free will and give out cards to the ones you actually like. It's nice to know your loved......especially when your are ignored. Heh.
BUT, anyway, there's my broccoli (cause I am tired of handing out BEEF. It's not cheap and I love my steak) about Valentines day.
BUT, but, BUT.......butbut. :-P But, lately I feel there are too many people who feel that they have to go out of their way to say how much they HATE this day. And how it should either go to hell......or how they would love to shoot themselves. All I can say, if you have not done the later, you may as well hush up. Valentines day is just another day when you look at it. So move on.
Either way, when I listen to why the ones who hate it...hate it. I see that their experiences are pretty similar to mine. If not, worst. Some better. Either way, these people don't realize how much of a downer they are being towards those who actually like the day and probably planning to use the day to its full meaning. To me, the day is for them, let them enjoy it.
Either way, stop bitching and being so self centered.........maybe that's why we are still alone. Just relax, enjoy the day. When you look at it, it's just another day anyway. No one is putting a gun at your head saying you must be part of it.......or your loser. No one is doing that. And if they are, you really need to re-evaluate the type of freinds you hang out with. Either way, if its co-workers, just tune them out of your mind. These same idiots who call you a loser are probably losers in other aspects of life. So chill.
And stop feeling like you need to remind people why you hate Valentines day EVERY FUCKING YEAR. SHIT, I lost count how many LJ's and Journals on sites where the same people say the same complaint about Valentines day EVERY YEAR. It's got to be the most grumble complaint Holiday Ever. I am surprised no one had gone into the US congress and US Corporations to try to make it "Holiday Friendly" like most idiots nowadays had done to Christmas.....er....Xmas.....er.....December Holiday that apparently have no name now.

Update on the Meme.
Posted 17 years agoNext Week Will Be Busy
Posted 17 years agoSorry for not doing much on that Meme yet. I been really out of it. But I am going to try to work on it later before Friday night. That, and I am trying to finish up at least one story I started last month.
Saturday I am going to try to meet up with a friend of mine in Renton, WA.
Sunday, not sure, but there's a couple I usually see to say hi to in Everett, WA. I have not seen them since I last went to their last home. Anyone who knows Skykin Grove would get the clue. :-P Though it's something else now.
Monday, a 2 hour pre-interview in Everett, WA. I finally got called this morning to go in for a skills test. Basically, if it works like Verizon and Epson did back in Indianapolis, I go in, do a bunch of mental test, physical test. And for shits and giggles, jump through hoops with nothing but hairs that grew on my body after puberty.......oh, and I get to wear my glasses. Once I satisfy everyone, either I'll get hired right away like I did at Epson. Or I'll get called in the following week to do more ass kissing, which at that point, I pretty much got the job.
Either, if I get the job, I'll get at least 36 hours of work, though I been told I could get more than I bargain for. Either way, it's going to be a stable job unless "I" fuck it up. And I am hoping that won't be easy, I mean, my step-dad been working for these people for years. So if he can come home with a smile on his face. I should be able to too.
Once that is done with, I got Jury duty on Wensday. Oh Lordy Fun Fun at the Everett court house. Wish me well on that fun fun time at fun fun land.
About it so far. The jobs are cutting things way to close. I hope I get an answer if I got the job...or not very soon before I have to call Marten back on the 27th to head back to a terminal to get back on a truck. :-/
And I need to run now.....got a Doc's appointment in 30 minutes. And he's 10 minutes away. :-P

Posted 17 years agoPlease only comment if you actually have artwork in your gallery. Finished artwork would be swell, too. (written and musical is fine too, but it has to be yours, not a commission or cover song).
The first ten people who reply to this journal get featured here, along with three of my favorite pieces by them.
The catch is: You have to put this in your journal as well!
Well, I got this mainly from
rickcoona. Though there are others who I could have gotten it from some one else too.
(EDIT - Work in Progress)
I am going to do one instead of three. Mainly cause it's not easy to find more than one for some people. So to be fair, I am going to find something I REALLY like and share that. If your curious about what else, ask me.
coolcoon
Well, I am not sure on what to say about him. No offense buddy. Really, BUT, he's got some nice photography of some fresh water (I think) animals in the earlier photos. And some personal photos Either way, be nice to see more from him soon. I hope this review don't sound terrible.

He's got a VERY trippy looking desktop. Where can I get that?
katalina
I am not sure what to say about her, mainly cause she seem to dabble in allot of things. Got some writing here and there. Done colouring for some people. Done some weird colour shapes of art....not sure what its called, but I like it. And even done some jeweler making. Anyway, this is what I like so far.

Coon, coon, coon....its like some one smashed a raccoons face onto a piece of paper and called it done.
northernwolf
Well, he's only got 3 pieces of art up so far.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/739362/
I like how the skunkette looks......not sure on what more to say.
Though to be fair, here's something he did I think it worth to pester him to try to do more of.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/591080/
It's good too. Though the plane in the back ground is nifty to me. And having that in the background....along with grass and a colour to the sky behind him. It's more lively. Yes.
genniidrominda
Ah, no offense to the first three, but here's some one I know just a little bit more. She's a really nice person who's got a very busy life. But when she has time (and whenever she can get a graphics program to work for her as of late), she'll treat us to her art. I had some hard choices. Since some pieces show how she's still improving, but know where she'll like to be. And some I like are very....uh...interesting.....if you know what I mean. Anyway, I like how her style is the characters are not super deformed fat. Nor is it super model skinny. The characters look typical and are very alive. And the colour pics got back ground to bring them to life. I like how the fur actually have a fur strands here and there to give the fur that...uh...fur look. And that the facial features help bring the characters to life also.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/916137/
I choose this drawing cause it came out very nicely and just looking at it gives me this raw feeling of love and lust between the two. It's not a pic of two characters kissing....which those types of pics usualy disgust me (sorry). And it's because it seem so lifeless. THIS ONE is VERY alive. And quite intense. Was she aiming for that, I don't know, but it sure feels like it, and I love it. Her foxy BF is one lucky fox. There are other drawings she's done I would have pic....but I find this to be the real eye catcher without the use of exposing anyones privates.

Well, what's up?
Posted 17 years agoWhat's up all? Just had to ask.
Thanks for allot of faves lately and hello to some of the new watchers. Hope I don't disappointed some of the newer watchers.
Well, not much since last entry. I am currently sitting at Mike's place up in New Westminster, BC. Hehehe. Unfortunately, he's got tonsillitis, so he's not really in good shape to do much.
So yeah, got him home Sunday morning. About it, just sat around here since and relaxing. I am planning on heading out tonight though, granted on road conditions. Look like it's going to be just rain, so I'll be fine hopefully. I'll just have to worry about the US border. I always have problems getting back into my own country. It's annoying.
OH well, about it. :-D

Well, it's a nice drive down US-101....
Posted 17 years agoThat's about it.....gah, WTF? It's just a highway that had not been upkept well. Oh well, but it does a very beutifull view. Either it's rocks and hills with trees. Or nice super close to sheer rock and short drop offs into water.
Oh well, incase anyone had been wondering where I been a couple of days. I went down to Gold Beach, Oregon. Picked up Mike (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mikefurry/) down there. You can go to his FA account to find out. I'll just say his van is toast and it's amazing he can still walk, let alone move. Though I think he's starting to stiffen up after forgettin to take some pain killers earlier today.
Anyway, he's fine and up here in my home right. Sometime tomorrow I'll be taking him back home to New Westminster, BC. I am not looking forward to putting up with border guards. Especially me having to explain why I got so much stuff in my car. I'll let him do the talking since it's all his stuff. But other than that, I need to sleep.
Oh well, hope nothing else would go wrong for him. Anyway, about, I'll talk soon.

Heh........our cops in WA are really too tight at times.
Posted 17 years agohttp://www.stpns.net/view_article.h.....45381046537516
Wow, the citation prices have really gone up. Not only that, but DOT is now saying they'll pull you over if you go over 3 MPH instead of 5 MPH. Damn it, and my speedometer goes 7 miles faster than I actually drive. I guess I better get that fixed. OH well, nice article to find after I get back to Washington state. I got used to where I was able to get away with going 15 MPH over the speed limit in Indianapolis.....and still get past by everyone including an off duty cop to back here where I can go too fast in a split second of a sneeze and get pulled over.

Back Home
Posted 17 years agoWell, back at home in Arlington, WA. Hehehe, despite the delays at both Indianapolis and Chicago. The total experience with the airlines where not so bad this time. :)
Oh well, now to start looking for work up close and personal this time....instead of looking online only.

Tomorrow.....Seattle.
Posted 17 years agoWell, I'll be on a flight tomorrow morning for Seattle. I'll leave 10 AM eastern time from Indianapolis, IN to Chicago, IL for a stop over. Then from there, I'll be in Sea-Tac, WA by 2:30 PM, Pacific time So, part of me is happy to go home and a part of me is wishing I had more time to hang out here. I mean, think about. If things do work out and I do get a local job (which is what I want....local job as in anything in the area besides trucking...which is what I don't want), I won't be back here in Indianapolis for a good while.
I got distant from my friends back at home in the Puget Sound area. But I not only have I been able to gone past catching up with my sister. But my brother in law and I really do get along. I remember when I first moved in and my sister would like us to have "man night". Or just me and him hang out with her out of the picture. And we would be like, "Uh.....I think we get along fine....what would we do anyways besides do what we are dong right now.......like sitting on the couch, watching reruns of Family Guy and Futurama?"
Well, nowadays, we go hang out without making plans for it and always got ideas on what to do......which...well.....not much. Like go to Fry's and geek out by drooling at electronics we can't buy. But heh, its something.
I don't know, but I do know both of them wish things worked out the first time I was living here with the job front. But they both know how I feel and this time there only talks I get about work is reminded to keep looking for work back in Seattle during my free time from working on their kitchen.
This is the third time since I got into trucking in 2005 that I ended up moving in with them for a bit. Though this is the second time I was able to go home to Seattle. I still owe a friend of mine money for my first time back to Seattle. I really hope for something decent this time.....other than nothing at all. And this time, stay out of trucking.....period. No local shit, no regional shit. NOTHING. If it involves DOT interventions and a Log Book. I am not doing it. If I have to do trucking, I am going back to Marten. It's not hell like Werner. But at least I know how to work around their Bullshit system.
For some reason, I want to trademark "Bullshit Systems". I would love to hear the marketing pitch for the public for "BS Systems".

Well, not much...again.
Posted 17 years agoBut it's all good. The only thing I guess is worth mentioning is.....
Friday, Heater Unit goes out. Brother in law calls up the repair guy. By this time, we turned the unit off for good and wait. When he shows up, turns it back on, it freaking works......which was weird cause it was not working, and we turned it off more than once, even let it sit for half an hour to make sure the blower was not overworking. Thing was, the furnace was kicking in just fine and it was heating up just fine. Just the blower was not kicking in. SO after warming up and the blowing refusing to kick in, it shuts down before it over heats.
Well, guy comes in, damn blower works. But at least he was nice enough to check everything and found the blower was on a lower setting. Which I honestly found odd since I noticed air barely went through the vents when the blower kicks in. He wired it for high and it now blows very nicely. House heats up/cools down real quick.
But only reason I mention all that was the house came with a humidifier piped bolted onto the side. But no one in the house knew how to use it, and I just figured it worked. Well, turns out, it did not work, and the others in this house assumed it worked. Heh, arn't we smart? Long story short, the unit was totally caked with thick layers of rust from the water that poured ontop of a filter/water spreader thing that air from the blower goes through it and makes a mist effect back into the air intake to add moisture into the air. Other than that, the units mechanical sensors and water valves worked fine. The guy was nice enough to give us a free filter/water spreader. But told us we'll have to carefully hammer out the old one. Then put it back together. This screen is 20 bucks. But a new humidifier is 280 bucks. Either way, it's not important. And home insurance DO NOT COVER REPAIRS FOR THESE.
Oh well, as usual my brother in law chickens out on fixing it. So I decided to just go ahead and do it myself. I got the nasty thing out and put the new thing in. Despite it missing some nuts and bolts to begin with. It works very well. It's nice waking up not feeling dehydrated and the wood floors don't creek as much now. Not to mention static is not much of an issue now. Makes me want to get one for my Mom's house back in Washington. Only drawback......gotta have a place to drain excess water when it's on. And when you come in from a freezing day, your glasses will fog up and the windows near the door that opened will get moisture......and won't go away for hours.
Oh well, I feel sorta giddy fixing it. Even though it's the most simple device I ever had to deal with on a house.
Then Saturday, Bowling.
Sunday, I just slept all day.
Monday, I slept most of the day.
Besides Sunday and Monday. The rest of the days had been used to work on the kitchen. If not the full day, then part of the day. About it.
Baby would you sex me up *oooooh ooooh ah ooooh ah*
Posted 17 years agoWell, since everyone is doing it. Why not me, eh? Hehehe, so......who's going to answer this? I'll be surprised. But please do....if you feel so eager to. Cause I am curious.
1. Would you be in control?
2. Would you pull my hair?
3. Would you whisper in my ear?
4. Would you talk dirty to me?
5. Would you kiss me with a little tongue or a lot of tongue?
6. Would you say my name?
7. Would you go down on me?
8. Would you let me give you a hickie?
9. How many rounds would we go?
10. What would you wanna do afterwards?
11. Would you take off all your clothes then take mine off slowly?
12. Would you lick and bite me all over?
13. Would you like to play or get straight to the point?
14. Would you want me to take my time?
15. How freaky are you, 1 - 10?
16. Would you want fast or slow?
17. Where would you wanna "do it"?
18. Would you be loud or quiet?
19. Would you want me to be loud or quiet?
20. Would you mind if i liked you?
21. Do you like me?
22. Would you call me the next day?
23. Would you scratch me?
24. Would you let me scratch you?
25. Would you have to be drunk?
26. Would you date me?
27. Would you do it today?
28. Would you do it tomorrow?
29. Do you think that we would go any further then just sex?
30. Are you going to re-post these so I can answer them for you?
31. Would you make love to me or fuck me?
Well......I think everyones doing it, so why should I tag? :-P

Posted 17 years agoWell, this week had been both up and down. Not wanting to get fully into it. I'll just say all in all, good.
Hope you all enjoyed the comic that was posted and the last story. But mainly the comic.

I hate snow
Posted 17 years agoActually, not really, but I just keep getting uneasy seeing it......and the thought of driving in it, despite what I drive. :-/
Anyway, the kitchen I been working on is progressing nicely. Got the walls done. Just need to work on the wood finish and what not, cabinets. Heh, other than that, it would hopefully be finished.
About it, had been taking it easy in Indianapolis for awhile. Still sticking with the current plan of flying back to Seattle on the 29th.

Looking for work makes me feel small....
Posted 17 years agoSometimes i just want to blow my mind. I do not understand why every time I look at the want ads, I just get depressed. Things I want to do, I don't have experiance. Things I don't want to do, either they don't ask much, or it's stuff I done already and already know I just can't handle it.
Namely call centers. Comcast in both Lynwood and Everett Washington are hiring right now, and they start training on February 8. Perfect, since I'll be back in Washington on the 30th of January, right?
But.....I just don't have the patience to sit down and tell an asshole how to fix his computer when he's too busy trying to protect his ego. Or just refuses to work with me. Or worst yet, have a bad day and wants to take it out on me.
Working for Verizon's call center here in Fishers, Indiana for 2 months was enough for me. Everyone was to busy talking about tech support being a "product" and talking business sense and are too busy doing anything to lower call times than just help with the customer. Which is the OTHER thing I hate about call centers. If I am not allowed to help a customer with their network problems......why am I here?
Don't mention trucking. If I have to truck again, I am going back with Marten. So hope to God I find something else other than trucking. I don't know any other company that is better than Marten, and when I do my research, Marten is still top, despite them pinching pennies and going down hill. That, and they gave me a legal document stating that I am still employed with them till 2/29/08. Therefor they not only let me leave for two months, but they are willing to wait for me and have me down as still employed. That is not easy to do.......find a company that's willing to wait that long past their normal 1 month wait. So if they are willing to wait for me for two months, I'll be back..........if I find nothing.
I am freaking out. I never used to freak out about job searching till I was so far in debt with a college degree that's not getting me anywhere. The majority of my bills are out of the way, so I don't feel as horrid as I did last year when looking for work before I joined Marten. BUT, the bitter, horrid taste in my mouth as I look for work in the IT field is still very strong in my mouth.
I want to jump into a new job field, anything, just as long they'll give me a chance. It's really bad nowadays when you either need experience, and/or an education to get into a BEGINNERS job. We say this is not a cast system. But it is. Just instead of being born in it (which you can still do....by the way.....look at 90% of truck companies, corporations, and the Hiltons), you have to fork out allot of money to BUY your way in.
I mean, really, I have to BUY my way in.
Blah, why do I keep doing this? I keep getting stuck in India"no"place. Yet I have a hard time finding work in Seattle where I HAPPEN TO FUCKING LIVE THERE. At least my home address is still in the area. Though nowadays I really don't know if I am even a local anymore. Just......a memory.....dust....blown away.

Ah slow, slow
Posted 17 years agoAnd it's nice.
Well, I finally finished the latest story I been trying to finish up the last two months. Hard when I just kept coming up with ideas for something else other than the original idea.
Long story short. I end up cutting up about 7 pages worth of stuff at the beginning of that story, and tossed it on another file. And the rest is what you see as the end product.....after adding a couple things here and there.
And I actually this time did some grammar checks and spelling checks......only to see I still fouled up on it. If I had allot of money and made this my livings (yeah, right). I would hire an editor.
I had not look for work till just now. I was vegging last week. This week I am supposed to look for work on some job search sites for Seattle during my free time from my main task. Remodeling the kitchen.
So far the last two days, I was able to empty out, clean, cover, and primer everything. Tomorrow it will be paint, paint, paint. Wow, I was covered with primer.
Oh well, about it. I am going to later on open up that text file of the 7 pages I cut out and continue that on as the next chapter. Heh, oh well, or maybe not. Maybe an inspiration. Not sure. But I am planning on doing a couple more stories. Then putting Shandra and her friends on the back burner for a bit as I try to get my feet wet on other ideas.
My only problem, nothing really interest me at the moment. I like current day issues and days in life stories, as you see me do. Sci-Fiction sorta erks me. I like imagination, but since I deal with allot of Sci-Fi freaks who can debate on hours the mathematical equations on quantum energy.....that is totally made up, and get into a huge argument about. I am not up for that shot yet.
Medieval stuff is kinda neat, but once again, I don't want to get hounded by people in the SPCA who'll want to bash my mistakes.....though anyone one in it who wants to help, be my guest.
Those two I see myself I can do, but I just don't want to deal with actual math and/or items of the era. I mean, I just want to say, "Sword" or, "Laser gun" and not have to be asked, "What type?" Especially laser gun.
Now mysteries and soap operas. I have a bad time thinking of mysteries, and they barely get my attention. So if I do read a story that's a true mystery novel and it some how gets my attention, do take that as a complement.
Soap Operas....meh, I don't consider my stories a soap opera, even though there's allot that can be pin pointed to a soap opera. And the reason I say that is, well, most soap operas is, "Oh, I once loved you, but I don't no more. But I love this guy, which is wrong, cause I am a man. Yet this man wants my wife...." GAH, talk about misery loves company.
Oh well, and finally, yiffy stories. Sorry, it's not my thing. I mean, I like reading some of them. As long they got characters that make me say, "Yeah, I can see them being real." And situation that warrants sex. I mean, most yiffy stories are disappointing to me. Man walks in random room. Random hot chick ready for a rough ride. She ties him up and fucks their brains out without once uttering a compliment or showing any affection. I did type a couple of tender yiff stories along with on tender "friends with benefits who also like to share" one. But I won't make it my main thing. Sex is part of life, but never the main thing. I mean, if you can stand reading a story about some one always eating food, then your easy to amuse than I.
Oh well, this was a long winded one. I better hush up now. Anyway, I suck at writing, but I am getting confident at least. So those who had been reading them and enjoy them. Thanks for being an audience and I hope to keep you interested.

Well, I had a feeling this may happen...
Posted 17 years agoIt's not a bad thing. But I had this gut feeling that my Dad would get so fed up with his job in Mongolia that once his contract was done in February, he'll fly back to his home town in Anderson, Indiana.
Anyway, nothing wrong with that. And I had a huge hunch since I read here and there on my sister's LJ entires along with some conversations here and there with my cousin back in Anderson that he's looking for a house to buy (finally). And that my cousin is currently helping him with that.
SO naturally, he was going to hope that I would be around and still trucking when he does this. Only to realize that not only did I left trucking. But by the time he shows up 3 weeks in February, I would already flown back to Seattle couple days before February.
So, he so far made a proposal. And so far it's half what I want, half a problem. The for sure thing is, he'll pay my sister back for the plane ticket she paid to get me home. Then he'll give me a plane ticket back to Seattle on a later date.
BUT, the MAIN issue I have that must be attended to, is mainly bills. I got enough for this month's bills (which had all been depleted today for them...so I am paid in full for this months bills).
Then the work I am going to do on my sister's house will be going towards my bills for February. Giving me two months to send in resumes and hoping to get phone calls by the time I get in Seattle in February.
Either way, my desperate fall back plan for work by February is going back to Marten. I do not want that to end up being my main option or second option. It's my last ditch effort to keep my funds going. And I know once I go back, I won't be able to leave till I complete a year with them......if I plan to keep things all goody goody with them. So I pretty much MUST find something other than them. And NOT trucking. Cause....well....fuck trucking. And anything related to it.
Anyway, the alternative I could do, but I do not want to do is.....and I would only consider it if my Dad keeps his word on the plane ticket home. Is I look for work here. A part time, temp job. And just work 3 to 4 months. Just long enough to keep my bills at bay while getting to catch up with my Father. Had not seen him in years. And the times I seen him had been very short. I would like to for once be able to hang out with him without a couple day time limit.
Anyway, knowing my luck here in Indianapolis, I am very damn sure I can get a job and have it last for at least 3 months. After all, that's as long I seem to be able to keep a job before I leave....if I like it or not in this damn state. Sorry if anyone is from here.
But....yes, I have worked here, and that's my experience with this town. I am very sure I can find a temporary job for the time being. Hell, I saved face with Epson when I left. Maybe I can go back and work with them for a short bit till they get tired of me again. Ah, repairing printers..........again.....blah...but I rather do that than driving. Hell, if I can get in a job like that that is run well, I would be in heaven.......like at the glass ceiling looking in heaven.
Anyway, as of right, I am sticking with current plans. Only time will tell. But I would like to hang out with my Dad for a little while.
As for the comics I been posting as soon as Seth had been e-mailing them. I hope those who looked at them like them. I got one big story I been working on for nearly 2 months. I am about to break them into two stories. Cause what's going on in them don't seem to work as one. But split in two, I can put more into each part, than leaving them as one. Hehehe, I hope to finish that soon. I been so close every time I worked on it. Only to be stalled.
Today we got a table top cleared off and placed in my room. So now I can sit at a desk comfortably and type. Instead of sitting on a drivers seat and hope I lean on the laptop to hard or I'll honk the city horn. (City horn is the horn that makes the truck sound like a car....electronic horn. While the highway horn is the air horn we all know when it comes to the "truck" horn.) Or what I usually do, lay on my tummy on a bed and type. Which is not good for your neck and legs. Really, it's not.....my legs fall asleep when I do that and my neck hurts after awhile.
Oh well, about it for now.

Posted 18 years agoHappy New Year.....in case no one hears from me tomorrow night.
After a crazy week, it ended decently. And I won't go into allot of details to what happened at work. I'll just say that despite me over looking some details in my contract at work. I was able to get my "leave of absence" request approved. So as far as they know, I am still an employ and plan "I" plan to be back in two months. I told them 2 months, but they mis understood and put me down for 8 months. But either way, it's a good thing. Since I left in good terms and turned their truck in at one of their terminals (in Indianapolis), I won't be marked as abandonment (if that makes sense). And after 2 (or 8) months, it won't matter anyways.
Anyway, so I am free since Saturday. Though I been just catching up on rest and played video games all day Sunday. I needed to unwind badly. Right now, just going to bed soon.
Tomorrow I'll be preparing some BBQ beef for sandwidges for some New Years party my brother in law and sis got planned. Once the 2nd comes around, I'll be put to work on the stuff I agree to do.
About it. Hope you all have a good New Years. And a good year to come.
I sure hope this coming year would be better. Though despite all my complaints about the company I left (Marten). It was not totally a horrid experience and if I must do it again, I won't mind....too much. I just hope they don't continue to go down a spiral that they are doing now. BUT, then again, if I can't voice my opinion on how they run things and I get jerked around if I do. What's the point?
OH well, have fun all. I'll be celebrating the New Years in Indianapolis. I'll be back to my actual home in Arlington, Washington by the end of January.

Quick Update
Posted 18 years agoMerry Christmas.
I hate getting lost in Chicago. Who ever decided to make the metro train system (what ever its called) so LOW, like 13 feet, should be shot. Who ever build decided to build homes around industry parks should be shot. And who ever designed the roads for small cars in mind for industry areas with super large trucks should be hit by a large truck.
But at least the cop was nice enough to direct traffic so I could get out of that situation.
I'll be quitting at the end of the month.
I'll be working for one month as a handy man for my brother in law. I am actually being paid for home repair and remoldleing. Whee.
29th of January, they already paid a plane ticket for me to fly back to Seattle.
Febuary, LOOK FOR WORK.
About it.
OH, anyone who lives or knows where Morris, IL, go to the truck stop at exit 112, I-80. The TA bought out the local truck stop. But the resturant is still owned by the original owner. R-Place resturant. It's so good, the locals eat here. and I mean, EVERYONE, from blue collar to the Mayor. Really, I mean it. Good food, and the bakery is excellent. Hell, tonight is Christmas Eve dinner special, and there's a long line going in. Still is now....and I been here for 3 hours now.
Oh well, about it. As for where I been last update.

Cheap, or desperate?
Posted 18 years agoDespite the shitty down hill shit going on at work I mentioned. They decided to demand us to use snow chains to try to get out of jams (IE, getting stuck in snow) BEFORE we call for a two truck. Or we'll be charged for it. All for the reason of "help the company save money." I was pissed off more when I was told this over our fleet messages. I mean, company policy is, they don't want us to chain up, therefore, if we chain up, and get stuck, we are at fault.....therefor, this is a double slap to our faces. A loop hole of, "Okay, your going to drive at all on the snow, your shit out of luck." So I just won't drive if I see snow piling up.
But today is the topper, and an flag raised in my mind that got me wondering what's REALLY going on in the main office. I see these messages a few times this month. But usually I already fueled up when I get these. It's messages asking us to WAIT till midnight to fuel, due to the prices DROPPING by.....2cents.
Well, today, I got this message before I got to this truck stop. I still was going to fuel up regardless. Cause if I did it now before the rest of my fuel freezes up and the engine cools down, the new fuel I put in will NOT be below freezing. Well, guess what? The company turned our payment cards OFF. Yes, that's right, I can NOT buy fuel till midnight tonight.
I am now beyond mad with them for being cheap. I am now just curious, wondering........is my Company about to file for bankruptcy? We had tons of accidents this year. The worst in this companies history. My company is SELF INSURED. What ever happens, the company pays for it.
Could it be that we are no longer dealing with greedy business men. But desperate business men who are not willing to admit the company is in a financial shit can, and they expect "US" to soak extra cost on their behalf.
Sorry, but if that's the case, I think I better leave, not because I am tired of their bullshit. But because their bullshit is finally sinking their own ship. These last two months, this one especially the worst, had been nothing but changes and demands on us to make things dirt cheap for the company.
Makes me feel uncomfortable when I realize its not "MY" job security on the line, but everyones. All because a bunch of idiots in main off changed allot of things in the past to the company without changing (IE getting their lazy asses off their chairs) the needs and expectation of their own office staff to change with it. And they are trying to pin it on us. When in reality, they messed up.
And if your curious, I'll type up a long "theory" on why it failed from what "I" seen. Wrong or right, it's what I see.
Oh well, about it. Now for some sleep. Got to deliver in Casper, WY. Then I don't know. But I do know theirs a snow warning around that area. In my area too. Either way, I don't wanna die.

I have enough....
Posted 18 years agoCheep bastards, moronic load plans. And down right stupid idiots who think they are gods gift to wise men/women. Honestly, what's got me ticked off right now?
Let's see, I saw this was bound to happen. And as of the 13th of this month, it's official.
They have gone and took out all the fuel stops that I and a good number of others use on our fuel list and went with purely Pilot and Love truck stops.
Now I bet you all are wondering, "So"? WELL, both Pilots and Loves sell cheap fuel. I mean, their gas is cheaper, their diesel is cheaper. IF they sold propane, it would be cheaper too. But here's the problem with them. And it's not just the fact the fuel they sell are cheap grade crap that could water your tanks (literally). It's the fact they have TINY parking spots. They are over crowded, badly organized, and the most parking spaces on average is 20 spaces. Most Travel Centers of America (TA) and all Petro truck stops have at least 100 parking spaces. Sometimes more, but very rarely less than 50.
So now I am stuck with using truck stops where I have to fight for a parking spot 24 hours a day instead of the usual park before 5PM or drive till I am past 6AM to find a spot.
Now, I don't have to park at the Pilots and Loves. But here's where the MAJOR issue I have the most that WILL cost me. When I fuel up more than 50 gallons, I get one FREE shower. Now, it would make sense to fuel up at the truck stop that have enough parking and where you plan to have a shower at.
Now if I got nothing BUT Pilots and Love truck stops, and I can never find a parking spot, and I will usually end up parking at some where else. Guess how much I'll be spending for a shower each day? They are at most, 10 bucks a shower. Some places will ask for a 5 dollar deposit on top of it...but at least I get that back.
Think about it, it may save the company money in the long run. But it will cost ME extra, along with more headaches in the long run. 7 days a week is 70 bucks a week for showers out of my own pocket, won't be paid back to me by the company. Cause as far as they are concerned, "It's free when you fuel up more than 50 gallons at our fuel stops. So I need to stop at our fuel stops more." But if our fuel stops are nothing but dinky little shit holes with 20 spaces on average with everyone and any body trying to save a buck wanting to fuel up there is fighting for a spot. I am shit out of luck, huh? Not to mention going to a Pilot or Loves takes me forever to wait in line just to get fuel.
My head hurts, and I am not doing this anymore. I don't care what happens, once I get to Indy, I am getting off. And I will not be trucking ever again. I'll shoot myself before I let myself go back into this. If I am going to do this, I'll get my own truck and be my own boss. And do what "I" want.

Posted 18 years agowell, after I posted my last journal entry. I drove again. From Beach, ND to here in Mondovi, Wisconsin. My load is due in Chicago Tuesday morning around 4 am, and I am been very close to it since Sunday morning.
Anyway, nothing much new since then. I just got here to our terminal. Went into the trailer shop to get my trailer worked on. It had a small air leak. Turns out it was also over due for a tune up on the refer (if there was a way for me to know if it was due without having to call the shop all the time, I would make sure they are done). By the time it got out of the shop, it was late afternoon. The leaking air line was hard to get to, brakes got replaced. And the engine was in desperate work. I mean, I did check on what "I" could see. Engine's diagnostic program says its alright, belts are fine, the only thing I had to do was add allot of oil when I picked it up. OH well.
Once that got in the shop, I washed the truck myself. I hate doing that, but since I am low on funds, and my truck was caked in brown dirt from the mountain passes (used in conjunction with salt and de-icers in hope to add traction in pouring snow). Once that was done, I went to the truck shop to get my work order in for a new windshield. They did not get to it till midnight. But once in, it did not take long.
Once that was done, I just did that goofy shout emo thing, then went to bed. I slept more than 14 hours. I just decided not to care to do anything today, so I was able to relax and catch up on sleep.
Oh well, about it.

Heh
Posted 18 years agoNot much.
Friday, saw my old high school buddies. Saturday, same things. Sunday, hanged out with another group of friends, which is nice, since they are getting ready to move. Hehehe, saw an Anime called "Paprica". IT's fucking weird, trippy, and awsome. Watch it. :-P
Then after that, zoomed down to Renton, saw another buddy of mine. She's hard to get a hold of, apperently. But oh well, we had dinner.
Monday, work on my car, it needed a tune up for a long time. Found remains of a dead rat. Though I cleaned that out, once done doing the tune up and drove off to test it. Damn tiny remains of the rat caught on fire. So I got home and scrub wash the area (which is hard since its in an area where I can't remove much....since what's bolted on is needed to keep the water out of the engine). Once it was clean, no more fires. I am just amazed it never caught fire doing the times I was driving before I did the tune up.
Tuesday, same buddy I saw Sunday night was busy. SO I relaxed.
Wensday, over slept, get load for Thrusday.
Thursday, never got load information till 1 hour before pick up....needed to be in Tacoma in an hour.....takes me 2 hours from Arlington, WA, to Bonney Lake, WA to pick up an empty trailer. Then another 45 minutes from Bonney Lake to Tacoma. Blah, at least the customer was nice........I got there 3 hours late.....sat for 3 hours more. Oh well.
Friday, lucky, lucky me, I carefully moved through the passes before the snow got worst. Traction tires was advised, but I heard it was going to go into required eventually that day. I could be wrong, but it was slushy. And western Montana was having a light dusting of snow. But once past Missoula, it was clear. Stopped in Butte, Montana.
Also, while in Spokane, nice guy (blah, dispatcher.....he's still my dispatcher?) tried to get me to split the load in Pasco, WA, not realizing I already past routes to head to Pasco, and I was entering Spokane. So that was scrapped.
Saturday, I drive from Butte, Montana, to here in Beach, North Dakota. I did not sleep much in Butte, so I shut down here early. Idiots on the weekend tried to get me to swap with another truck in Bismark, ND. Not seeming to pay attention to me telling them I was dead tired and I was shutting down in Beach, ND. That, and after reviewing the load information, it was a HAZMAT load. Which I don't have the endorsements for. I have not heard about it since. BUT, then again, my weekend temp was my old dispatcher....the one who fired me. So I guess he's still sore with me. The minute I told him I can't do it, he went REAL quiet. I guess he did not realize it was me till I started talking over the computer. HE should know, I was not off his board that long. Sad really, but then again, oh well, I am getting tired of feeling bad for anyone.
About it, I am going to try to shoot for Mondovi, WI today. But I think the weather in Minnisota and Wisconsin is not great. So I'll be lucky to reach Rogers, MN for my next shut down. Though If the crack in my windsheild gets bigger, I'll have to shut down some where and get that windsheild replaced anyways.

So little time
Posted 18 years agoI barely got to be home on Thursday, got home, showered, doctor appointment, then grocery shopping.
Friday I lounged around, wondering if I'll get e-mails from certain people about doing stuff in town.....never did. So I called my old buds in Marysville, hanged out with them for a short bit. Then ended up leaving with Nick and Chris (his brother) and just hanged out at a local food joint called "Don's".
Funny, when I was working at Holiday Inn Express in Marysville years ago (I can't believe how time flies....and it's now a Comfort Inn), I would recommend people to eat there. But I never ate there myself. It's really not a bad place at all. The food is not super classes. But for it's type and price, its good. WAY better than Denny's or Sharis. Though no fancy soda drinks. And if your into Karaoke, it's in the back room/bar.
After that, I dropped them off. Talk to a couple others since everyone in the house apparently was on a break from D&D. I just had not been interested in playing for a long time. And it's the usual. Hack, slash, hack slash. And the DM is trying to add politics and actual Role Play. Oh well, I guess I had not been missing much.
Got home, decided to shove a heater in my car and hope to try out the moisture that way. When I got back, there was no mold that I could find on the fabric.....so far. But mold was starting to grow on the inside of the windows. So I cleaned the windows right after I took care of my Doctor's AP on Thursday. BUT, I still could not get rid of 30% of the moisture buildup on the back window after driving it allot yesterday. So I hoped to dry it out with a heater. Unfortunately, the heater I am using we had for more than 15 years. And we had not used it in 10 years.......damn thing used to get super hot when I put it on high heat. Now, it's luke warm on high heat. I guess that heater is dead.
Oh well, about it. Now I am trying to get a hold of a certain some one to see about hanging out with her sometime this weekend. While wondering about a couple who I guess is very busy this weekend trying to get things situated with their living arrangements. While another buddy I just won't be able to drive north to this time. I go back to work on Tuesday. So I don't want to put up with border guards. That, and I need to plan some time between now and before I leave to work on my car. It needs an oil change and I think it's past due for new spark plugs.

Home....somehow
Posted 18 years agoWell, the night head of operations DID do what he said he'll do. Get me home on my Dispatchers hide.
HOLEY, I never thought having higher up watching everything you do would be a pleasant feeling. I mean, my dispatcher tried to do ONE thing where he got big. Only to quickly send another message back giving me what I want. So I made it home early this morning. Went to the doctor, and then went grocery shopping with Mom....they REALLY needed some food.
Anyway, driving from Portland, OR to the Seattle area was HELL. The detour for Semi-trucks took an extra 270 miles out of my way. But I did feel adventurous. Hehehehe, I took I-84 east till I reach US-197 north. From there, I took WA-14 east till I reach US-97.
I have NO IDEA what made me take US-197 north and WA-14 east. BUT, I learned over the CB later that Oregon decided to do a very needed bridge inspection on US-97. Considering that bridge already had a weight limit and is marked as "fragile"....or what ever you wanted to call it. Pretty much if it failed, it would be as bad as I-35W in Minneapolis..
They decided to inspect it......found too many holes and bumps....closed it down for a QUICK fix. So it was backed up. So me taking US-197 to WA-14 long before I got to US-97 was a good idea. Cause US-197 is a very sturdy bridge that is not in poor conditions and got no weight limit. My only regret is.......WA-14 is a CURVY two lane highway. I mean, no shoulders to use either. So I was sorta tensed....but it IS a truck route.
US-97 is also just a two lane highway, but at least the shoulders are a decent size so I don't have to worry to much about my trailer getting into the shoulder.....or having to use the shoulder to keep my trailer out of the on-coming lane.
Once I got into Yakima, I just got onto I-82 west to I-90 west. Not bad.
I never seen WA-14 so busy before......I usually could see it on the other side of the huge river when on I-84 in Oregon. But damn, it had more truck traffic than usual. And on US-97 was just miles and miles of truck traffic on two lane roads......for more than a 100 miles.
Oh well.....I am home now. Anyone want a beautiful drive that usually won't be busy except now for the I-5 closure. Drive on WA-14 instead of I-84 in Oregon.....you'll love the drive and view. And US-97.....pretty.
