Looking Back at 2018
Posted 6 years agoWhen you have a lot friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances on facebook, it's hard to say how I feel without knowing that someone would exploit your circumstance.
So I figure that this would be a nice venue to talk about my 2018.
It was brutal. Like it's not a year of a dog anymore. It's a year of poop. When you carry the weight of a fragile relationship and handle the abuse from your superiors at work at the same time, you'd eventually crack and dump it all out. These come with a heavy price that lasted for a while, which are emotionally exhausting and traumatizing.
After taking responsibility for the break-up (which I never should've done) and being humiliated in front of my co-workers by my boss, I decided to take a vacation back in my home country in summer. And oh boy was that a super bad move. Let's just say that I shouldn't stay with my parents alone for too long, considering they knew about my homosexual dating. I left home feeling sour; but soon after my Dad got hospitalized for his life-long heart issues. That's the main reason why I went back home again last Christmas (which I was so close to decline) but with the addition to my sister and her partner, who I haven't seen for so long, they make the trip worthwhile and less aggravating. Thank goodness.
Around fall, I began reaching out to furries - something that I should've done for a long time but never had a chance. I had negative experiences before in getting in furry meetups as an undergrad, because I cringed so much when I hung out with fursuiters in public with children involved. But it was different this time, and it wasn't so bad at all! My first meetup here in Cali was at FurryBBQ in Irvine. At first it was hard to uhh... mingle? xD but with a help from Telegram and Twitter, communication's muuuch easier. Then I made wonderful friends with fellow artists, hobbyists, enthusiasts, wannabes, kemonos oh my! I just want to say, despite what I'm going through in 2018, I am very thankful for you all! ^^ You guys make my life more fun!
So here's to the new year-2019. I'm still busting my bunny balls here in LA; and if you live nearby, let's meet up and have a drink!

Four Requests Open
Posted 12 years agoHey folks!
I was planning to open up a small commission, but before I open them, I need to ensure the quality of the work is coherent with the proposed price.
So in preparation for that, I'll be doing portrait request sketches! But before you post the references, you agreed to...
1. Allow the artist to make modifications on appearance to go with the style.
2. Give insightful comments and critiques once the portrait is done, and whether it is suitable for that price. (I will send you a note on pricing.)
3. Promote the artist through journals, art gallery, etc. and promote the commission if it is open.
If you agreed to all three, please respond to this journal or send me a note with a statement "I have read and agreed to the statements from the artist" followed by the link to the reference. Other than that, I hope you enjoy your holiday!

Songs I'd Like to Hear on Christmas
Posted 13 years agoThere's too many repetitive X-Mas songs playing over and over again on the radio at this time of the year. Part of it is because I've grown up and used to be exposed to the Christmas spirit to the point that it's just a holiday rather than something to celebrate (talking about christmas blues).
So I'd like to share a couple of songs that I'd love to hear on Christmas.
"Ave Maria" by Beyonce
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgxfthPHTwc
"Hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xR0DKOGco_o
"To Build a Home" by Cinematic Orchestra
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjjc59FgUpg
"I Wish" by Lighthouse Family
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN4osi44hFc
"Day is Done" by Peter, Paul and Mary
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZQ1MXVtD5I
"Yesterday Once More" by Carpenters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR1v3MZcHDw
"Scarborough Fair" by Simon and Garfunkel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB7nMtLsqhk
"Love is All Around" by The Troggs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_Hn.....ure=plpp_video
"To Love Somebody" by The Bee Gees

Where the F*ck is Monbai??
Posted 13 years ago*FLASH NEWS REPORT*
Cameraman: "Are you done combing your hair yet, Stella?"
Stella the Bitch: "Almost done, need to fix some bit under my ear."
Cameraman: "Retrievers..."
*Stella, with a prepared pose, stacks up the script, facing at the camera.*
Cameraman: "All right, we're going in three...two...one..."
Stella: "Suspicion grew as the director of Monbai has disappeared from FA for more than two months. Fans have been waiting at the entrance, and here we see them standing at the doorway in hopes of seeing Monbai business re-open. Mac is at the building along with the fans right now. Mac, what is it that motivates the fans to wait for more than two friggin' months?"
Mac the Cat: "...Well, the rumors have spread among the fans that the director is heading the art style in a different direction. Recently, Ian, the public relations of Monbai (see the avatar) has announced that the director apologizes for an unplanned hiatus. Lately, he's been very busy with outside work and developing art style through experimentation. He promises that he'll return with more promising, impressive works."
Fans: "We want too see more of his sh*t!"
Stella: "All righty, then. Well, that's the news today for Monbai. We hope that the director will be ready for his fans once he returns. This is Network New-"
*BLEWP*
*TV Shuts off*
Ian: "..."
Director: "..."

Director: "...I need some more time. Seriously. By the way, where's the cock?"
Ian: "Your cocktail's almost ready, director. This time with more concentrated alcohol."
Director: "Yes indeed. Cheers, man."

BACK in BUSINESS and End of School Year
Posted 13 years agoHey everyone, how are you doing?
Recently, I've finished my junior year college, and summer has begun two days ago. Monbai is back in business with more cartoons, artworks, skits and awesomeness. Lots and lots of awesomeness.
Style will be much more flexible than before, so the gallery will be loaded with artworks in a variety of media. Sketches will be uploaded once in a while, if I'm happy to share.
Artworks will be uploaded at a higher rate than before, since a lot of my works and sketches will focus on cartooning, and I'm sure that the audience and watchers will be entertained to see them.
However, for the commissions, I'll be more strict on prices so that the quality work will be much better than before. Currently, commissions are closed.
For those who are hungry for requests, yes, I am OPEN but HOWEVER, it has to be a character that a lot of people recognize, usually game characters, actors, and other media icons (anime, series, etc.).
And my approach to the artwork will be witty otherwise a parody. Just like this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8150075/
If you have ideas what to do with the characters, I'll be happy to hear.
Other than that, hope you guys have a great summer. Cheers!
