I'm not really sure how or when it happened but somewhere along the line I ended up in a particularity dull rut and it really started to effect my mood. Its been a long time since I've gone out and done anything new and exciting, and with all the chaos from juggling moving, work and school I needed a chance to have some fun and decompress a little. So at the last possible second I decided to go to a local Sci-fi con over the weekend, I just got back home an hour ago as the con closed at 4pm and I have to say, all things considered it was a lot of fun.

Now I have to admit I spent most the time just wandering around like a lost puppy, I've never even set foot in a con before and had no idea what your supposed to do once you get there. Still it was a fun experience, different but fun! I learned a lot from the different panels I wandered into to, like how to make a convicting steampunk costume without blowing your life's saving on copper tubing and what Crytozoology is.

Even the hotel I stayed at was nice, free breakfast and dinner for guest and free wifi though I didn't bring my computer cause knowing me I would have baked it in the car or accidentally dropped it down an elevator shaft. I'm flat broke with the cost of the hotel, getting a ticket to the con and of course burning gas on a 4 hour round trip between here and there but now I can see why fur cons are such a big to-do around here. I mean if siting in on Klingon Karekokie dosen't liven up your weekend something is seriously messed up. :P


So yeah I'm feeling a lot better and while I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to do fur cons yet I will say I certainly needed that. :)

After years of faithful service my poor Gateway finally gave up the ghost, I still don't know what happened the computer just made a weird clicking sound and lines appeared on the screen. I turned it off and it never turned back on so just as things where going back to normal I had to buy a new computer.

Thankfully I knew someone that got me some odd jobs with his landscaping business and Best buy had a killer sale so now I have a new HP computer that will hopefully last awhile because if things go south again I'm probably going to scream and let me tell you as an otter I got a mighty set of lungs. :P

So lets try this again shall we?

Ok the holidays are over, I've just about got myself settled into my new place, the bills are caught up and I finally got my classes under control so I can at long last have some kind of life again! Now let's never speak of the last few months again. :P

I get some time to myself to try and chat with folks, and AIM refuses to play nice. I've tried restarting it, I've restarted my computer but despite the fact it worked just fine a few moments ago now its telling me my buddy list is off limits.

Technology, 2 steps forward, 3 steps back

Just busy busy busy back in the human world and that means not much furry time right now. A lot of things fell on me all at once and its just taking longer then I expected (or wanted) to sort it all out but don't worry things will settle from a mad dash to a lazy stroll soon and I'll be back to cook and cuddle.

*group hugs*

Right now I'm juggling a job, school (getting my GED) and I'm moving at the end of the month to my own apartment so no more staying with my folks, its wonderful but its hard work. I hope first and second life are treating you guys well, I miss chating with you all and I know some furs I've barely even had a chance to speak to before I had to dash, I apologize for this.

Be patient with this crazy otter just a little longer and I promise I'll be back soon and better for it. :)

I was talking about fursuits last night with another fur and cool as they are I don't want a fursuit, in fact if I had my way I'd go to cons with a power ranger's villein costume. I mean corny as they where on TV you have to admit it be pretty kick as to walk into AC as Golddar, especially if you could get the one from the movie where the eyes glow and his armor actually shines a bit.

I know it probably never happen, the villein costumes probably cost more then most fur suits and would be recycled session after session to save cash, only to be retired when their falling apart or sold off to some rich dude for a few thousand dollars. But I still think it would be totally worth it to get one, just to see the looks on everyone's faces when they see King Spinx in the fur suit march at AC. Or even better see if Uncle Kaga would let you and some friends dressed as power rangers do like a short battle scene. :P
