I identify myself as a furry and I do furry related things, but I don’t consider it my lifestyle ~ it is one aspect of my life.
If you have a spouse or S/O - Is he or she a furry too?
I am single but if I was with somebody I would be fine if he or she was or wasn’t a furry.
How long have you been in the community?
Since early 2006.
How did you find furry?
I found furries – more specifically babyfurs – from links on ABDL sites many years ago. A few years after that I took an interest in becoming one through Second Life.
What's your reason for being a furry? What interested you to get into the community?
A majority of the things I’m interested in comes from satisfying my curiosity – how I got into the community is no different. Reasons for why I remain a furry is because of the friends I’ve made, the wicked art, and because in general it just makes me feel good.
What's ‘furry’ to you?
I guess the first things that come to mind are ‘sex’, ‘drama’, ‘identity’, and ‘art’. But in terms of the textbook definition it would be an interest in anthropomorphic animals that serve as representations for an individual or an idea.
If someone found out you’re a furry and asked you about it, how would you respond?
I would tell them enough to know what is a furry and why I am a furry. If that person wanted to know more due to curiosity and not to be judgemental then I’m fine with them furthering the discussion. I know who I am and I’m quite comfortable sharing aspects of my life if someone asks, but I would never bring it up otherwise.
What are your favourite aspects of our community?
The diversity and creativity are my favourite aspects of the community. I enjoy the fact that there are people from all walks of life brought together (but not restricted) to our shared interest of being a furry. The diversity helps me maintain an open-mind on life while giving me new things to learn and experience. The creativity (especially in the form of art) keeps things fresh and tangible since a picture is worth a thousand words.
Do you use any furry terms? (i.e. yiff, paws, murr?)
I sometimes start off with a *squeak* when I write comments or shouts on FA, but other than that I only use furry terms when I roleplay.
What do you wish furry was NOT associated with?
Stupidity…there is a lot of it out there ranging from immoral decisions to immature comments some people are capable of.
How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
It hasn’t happened to me yet, but it wouldn’t concern me very much since I know the media’s portrayal – what little coverage we get – doesn’t represent me. I would make an effort to stand up for what I believe in, but it wouldn’t be something of a mission.
How strongly do you feel about someone bashing the community as a whole?
There’s rarely ever good reason to bash a community as a whole, because misconceptions don’t represent every individual in the community. I would feel pretty strongly against it but I would leave it to others to defend the community ~ there will always be haters and I will give none of my time for them.
We all know furries have a lot of sexual aspects in this fandom, what’s your opinion on it?
I think that the copious amount of sexual content is due to a predominantly male fandom. Males seem to be more sex-driven no matter what the kink is. I’m not complaining; it just means more variety of things for me to get turned on by.
PERSONAL
What is/are your fursona(s)?
I’m Dumpling, a grey (babyfur) mouse of no specific species. My fursona and I, more or less, share the same personality. The main reasons I identify myself with a mouse is because:
1) they are small animals – in real life feel small as a person (both small in stature regard)
2) they have big ears – I’m more of a listener than a talker
3) they are very curious – I’m inquisitive
Do you have any fetishes that pertain to the fandom?
I have a diaper fetish that pertains but isn’t limited to the fandom. Related to diapers, I have a desire to be infantile (which doesn’t turn me on) because it provides me great comfort and joy. Light bondage and humiliation turn me on, but I don’t consider it a fetish of mine.
If you could magically morph into your fursona would you?
I would if more than half the world were also living their fursonas ~ I don’t want to draw attention to myself by being the only one. Or, I would morph into my fursona if it were reversible at will.
Do you believe you have a spirit animal?
Nope.
What other fanbases/groups are you a part of?
I’m a part of the ABDL community and I am a fan of anime, comic books, online games, and hip hop.

I’m not a fursuiter but I do plan on being one when I move out and I’m financially stable ~ it won’t be a priority for a long while.

About 50% of my friends are furries.
How many pets do you own, if any?
I don’t own any pets.
Aside from furry what other interests do you have?
I’m interested in most racquet sports, cooking, traveling, social media, blogging, indie music, discourse analysis, a whole ton of stuff.
Are you confident enough in yourself to say that you're a fur, no matter what the media says?
I am very confident.

Do you attend any cons? If no, would you attend any cons? If yes, which cons have you been to?
So far I have only attended anime and comic book conventions. I hope to attend some furcons next year when a couple of new ones will be held around my area (Furnal Equinox, What The Fur, and Bytown Furry Con).
Do you go to local meetups (bowling, public outings...etc)?
I go to a monthly ABDL munch where there are a couple of babyfurs and I’ve been to furry outings where we explore the city for a day.
Have you ever attended a furry party? If no, would you attend one?
Not yet, but after this coming Saturday’s Islington Furmeet I will have.

Yes I have and I hope to meet up with more sometime in the future.

Has the fandom done anything for you that you're thankful for? Has it taught you anything or brought you anything you treasure greatly?
I am thankful for everything the fandom has done for me so far. Besides keeping me not bored of life on a daily basis, it has helped broaden my social life ~ fun people and interesting conversations are very important to me. I have a much greater appreciation for art and Internet humour as well.

Century Palace Chinese Restaurant ~ I go there for dim sum at least twice a month.

Fifty pound dumbbell the other night.

Yes, I got hit in the head with a tire swing at a summer day camp when I was little ~ got stitches above my left eyebrow.
