Hugs are super awesome especially if I'm in suit! I prefer snuggling people I know ^^;
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
You'd be my new best friend if you did! O3O
Can I give you lots of money?
I won't be selling anything so it'd be pretty silly of you if you did. But you can always leave a tip at one of my room events! :D
How will I know it's you and not the wrong person?
I'm that short Asian babyfur with colourful/cartoony clothes on. Plus I'll be wearing my badges ;)
My fursuit is hard to miss too!
Are you nice?
I sure am! :D
You look pissed off out of suit. Can I come up to you?
If I look pissed come gimme a hug please D:
Do you do trades?
I don't do arts, but we can trade Pokemon!
Can I stalk you?
Nope, that's creepy.
How long are you going?
Arriving by noon on Friday and leaving Sunday night.
Do you like parties?
Hell ya! I love having fun so show me where it's at! \o.o/

Suggestions?
Posted 14 years agoEach week I make a donation to a charity and it's occured to me that I haven't given to any that help animals. Any suggestions?
Pass on the good word and I'll make a list based on the input from which I'll pick a few to donate in the coming weeks :) Thanks.

'Ten Days' meme: Day Ten
Posted 15 years agoDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot.
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession
======================================================
Day Ten: One confession
1) I have a very deep desire to be someone important. I don't necessarily mean important like someone who holds a reputable position in society, although being popular is a quality that seems appealing to me. Instead, I've always wanted to be in someone's thoughts often because I am important to them. What would define my importance isn't for me to say, but the idea of being just a somebody isn't enough for me. I want to stand out, but I know that there is a lot that I don't do enough of to warrent the impression.
I don't think I would ever have wanted this so badly had I not had it before. For a brief period I recieved this feeling of importance from somebody and it made me really happy to be acknowledged, but I realized that it was a very needy desire. I think, because of that, it was partly my fault that things didn't progress any further and eventually dissolved.
Even though a lot of the time I don't feel important and the idea of being a nobody frightens me, I do have self-worth and I know there are people who care about me. I am not self-loathing and dysfunctional.

Day Eight: Three turn ons.
1) Pleasent aromas. Smells that make me feel fuzzy inside like fruity things and baby powder.
2) Being held. It's warm, securing, and it makes me feel as though I give all my trust to that person.
3) Diapers. If you're a regular reader of my blog or know me well, this turn on is a no brainer. I have a diaper fetish.

Day Seven: Four turn offs.
1) Poor hygiene (particularly smells) and lack of manners (mostly dinning-wise). These things disgust me since they should be common sense and proper etiquette.
2) Being condescending because then you're just being an asshole.
3) Mullets. I'm not a fan of guys with long hair, although it really depends on how it looks with the entire body and features. But for mullets, just no.
4) Lifeless individuals. People who don't get out enough despite being fully capable of doing so when the opportunities arise. I find these types boring to be around.

Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
1) I wish I never chose University of Toronto: Scarborough Campus for medical anthropology and health studies. Had I chosen York University/Seneca College for nursing instead, I probably would be in a more rewarding work situation right now.
2) I wish I never let so many friendships dissolve due to my lack of effort to keep in touch. But even then, I wish I could be a better friend to those I care about.
3) I wish I never had unprotected sex with someone I didn't completely trust. Even though I am clean, the risk of contracting something really scares me. I will never do that again.
4) I wish I never burdened my parents - hurting my mom emotionally and my dad financially - when I was younger. I've done a lot of stupid things and it's made me feel like the black sheep in the family.
5) I wish I never spent so much money impulsively in high school. I worked during the summer so that I'd have money to use, but the prospect of saving as a long term thing just never stuck too well. This practice has led to poor financial habits today.
6) I wish I never stopped playing the trumpet or violin. Even if I didn't enjoy progressing in grade for the latter instrument, I could have continued doing it for the leisure of it. The ability to make music is a beautiful art.

Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
1) 'I hate my job', followed by, 'When is my next break?' A lot of the time I feel as though I'm wasting my education working at this dead end job. But nothing is stopping me from quitting other than sheer laziness to look for another job, so really, complaining gets me nowhere.
2) 'What do people think of me?' I always wonder whether people think about me as I think about them - whether friends, family, or people I don't know. At the end of parties or gatherings I question whether I've embarrassed myself by saying something stupid, or if I have a lasting impression just by being myself.
3) 'Am I eating healthy?' Currently I get enough exercise everyday, but having a balanced diet is very difficult. I know I don't eat enough fruits and vegitables. I know that I drink way to much coffee. I know that I keep putting restrictions with alcohol on myself but rarely keep them.
4) 'Privacy.' I very much enjoy my privacy at home, but I live with my family and share rooms with my older brother. I can't do simple things that I enjoy without being judged and criticized. For example, cuddling a plushie, going to bed in a sleeper, having to hide my fursuit, looking at furry art, etc. It's a stress that gradually accumulates and I constantly look forward to the day I move out.
5) 'How should I spend my free time?' When I'm not working, I'm sitting in front of the computer and it's not something I alway like to do. I have a list of tv shows and movies I want to watch, but never get around to it. I want to hang out and have fun with friends, but they aren't always available and deciding what to do together is cumbersome - especially when on a budget.
6) 'The bus schedule and ensuring I catch it.' My main mode of transportation since I rarely use my parents' car to drive is the bus and subway. It's unpleasent waiting for a bus not running on time in freezing temperatures, but it's a daily affair.
7) 'How can I make "Do More Mondays" more engaging for others?' It is important to me to help others through charity - if I could I would give my time and energy instead. Do More Mondays makes me happy at the start of the week and by the end of it I look forward to doing it again. I really want other people to feel the same way by showing their support, suggesting where I should donate to, and being aware of what is going on in the world. I've only been doing this for seven weeks with forty-five more to go, so this is something definitely on my mind quite a lot.

Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
1) Enjoy eating and have a passion for good food. What a majority of people I know consider ‘good’ food I normally find it mediocre. I don’t consider myself picky, but I’ve eaten from a long list of places so there is a lot for me to compare with. Knowing how to cook and/or bake would be a bonus. I really enjoy helping out in the kitchen because it can be a lot of fun!
2) Be interesting, however, this doesn’t necessarily mean share the same interests as me. I am a boring person and it takes an interesting person to bring out the playful and talkative side of me. Introduce me to things I’m unfamiliar with, broaden my mind, and be culturally aware. I find it creepy when people are sole focused on one interest that we both share.
3) Communicate; I am no good at this. I am very guilty of rarely starting conversations and it has hampered many friendships. But I listen more than I talk and I greatly appreciate it when people talk to me. Sometimes I have a hard time expressing how I feel in person, and I end up bottling it inside of me. But I encourage it for people to ask me questions and pry out the answers. It feels good to get it out there and not have something on the back of my mind.
4) Indulge the little kid in me. Ageplay is an important aspect of who I am. When I’m feeling little, feed my imagination, tickle my curiosities, amplify my fun, and surprise me. But also be parental, decisive, and guiding with a sense of structure. I know when is the right time and place to behave accordingly and it would greatly benefit others to know as well.
5) Live life with style. This is more of a romanticized way to win my heart since style is subjective and constantly evolving, but I love people with a bit of class, finesse, and good taste. Bourgeois domestic setting makes me feel pretty giddy. It doesn’t even need to be materialistic ~ having that type of mindset really intrigues me.
6) Be empathetic but also offer differing opinions. There are a lot of people who can offer a shoulder for me to cry on but there are few who can also shake me to my sense. Sometimes I feel that emotions cloud logic and rationality; being able to keep the two sorted for when I need a wake up call is very important to me. I think this is why I have a special spot in my heart for older people.
7) Smile, it’s contagious and warms my heart. This partly has to do with laughter and sharing a similar taste in humour, but smiling is a very simple way of making another person happy and think positive. I believe that the smile itself doesn’t need to be beautiful, just the inner beauty of making that smile and passing on a good feeling.
8) Have ambitions and know what you want in life. It doesn’t matter to me if you’ve failed at achieving something, but as long as the goal was in mind and you put in the effort, my heart goes out to you. I fully understand that progress is a slow process, but people with no direction in life who choose not to go anyway really irk me. Life is all about progression.

It doesn’t matter to me if you’ve failed at achieving something, but as long as the goal was in mind and you put in the effort, my heart goes out to you. I fully understand that progress is a slow process, but people with no direction in life who choose not to go anyway really irk me. Life is all about progression.

'Ten Days' meme: Day Two
Posted 15 years agoDay One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
======================================================
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
1) I have two scars on my face that aren’t remarkably noticeable. One is just above my hairline I got from falling down the stairs as a toddler. The other is above my left eyebrow from getting hit by a tire swing as a kid.
2) I’ve been wearing glasses since I was five years old and I’ve always hated it. I think that they make me look ugly and I’m embarrassed to wear them when I’m not at home. I will rarely go out in public without my contact lenses. There have been times where I’ve strained my eyes when sleeping over at a friend’s house, all for the sake of not having to wear my glasses.
3) From an early age to the end of high school a large part of my life was devoted to music. I played the violin but didn’t enjoy it because it felt like a chore that my parents made me do. I regret discontinuing after getting my RCM grade 9 certificate because I could have achieved higher with a better attitude.
4) In person I whine a lot about things I can actually tolerate quite well. For example: cold weather, my short stature, travelling long distances, eating vegetables, waking up, being bored, etc.
5) Material things make me happy, but I am not materialistic because I do value intellect, culture, companionship, etc. Rather, it’s because I am very forgetful and I find it easiest to remember moments marked by material things. I am sentimental about things given to me by people I care about.
6) I use money as an easy way out for a lot of things that could have been potentially more meaningful if done differently. It is difficult to think of examples.
7) I have a strong need to belong, but I often feel timid while in big groups. I scarcely initiate conversations, which has made maintaining friendships difficult.
8) I find it easy to be devoted to one person, however, often times the feelings aren’t reciprocated or the timing isn’t right.
9) I envy a lot of people for various reasons, which can cloud my judgement sometimes when I’m told by other people what they envy about me. I don’t want others to feel that way about me and I’m sure other people don’t want the same. I need to be happier with the things I have.

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
1) "Please stop being so critical about me. I’d much rather you encourage my interests or just turn a blind eye and respect my privacy."
2) "You are a waste of space and contribute nothing to society. Stop complaining about practically everything and do something with your life."
3) "What happened to the short time we had together? I thoroughly enjoyed being with you – it made me very happy – and you can’t say I didn’t try. But where was the effort on your behalf? Be the bigger man, I’m still waiting."
4) "We don’t talk often enough and we really should ~ my bad. There is a lot I'd like to know about you so that I can be a better friend."
5) "I wish she didn’t control your life so much, but she is a big part of it and I respect the decision you made. We don’t talk very much because you’re hard to get in touch with. Just know that you’ll always have a friend in me."
6) "I’m envious of you and I wish I could be more like you."
7) "For all those times in the past, I am so deeply sorry for hurting you. I wish I had never done any of it. You know that I love you very much, I’m sorry that I don’t show it enough."
8) "You are so beautiful in the most charming of ways. I wish more people would acknowledge that. Don't ever stop being you!"
9) "Make yourself more interesting. You have got a one-track-mind and it's not cool."
10) "I use to find you very interesting and I’d look forward to chatting with you because we rarely do. But now you’re becoming increasingly faceless to me ~ you’re just another person I wanted to hang out with, but you let the opportunities go by for one reason or another."

NAG fall meet, Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser
Posted 15 years agoRepost from
thadiuseffingham journal. Show him some love if you're down for the cause :) I'm hoping to go if I can bum a ride off someone from Toronto. But either way I'll donate :)
==============================
Okay folks it official. the paper work is turned in and I have been told by the Canadian Cancer Society That everything should be a go. So here we have a sanction event!
2nd annual Fall meet at Thadius's place. October 23rd 2010 The meet will consist of a Fur-B-Que, a costume contest and a mini-put contest!
The meet will cost 10 bucks! this will cover your food and participation in the costume contest. The mini-put will be extra but i am currently working out a group rate with the Great Wolf Lodge.
The meet will start at 2 pm we will be going to the great wolf lodge for Mini-Put at 2:45. Dinner will be served around 6:00pm
Mini-put. Tourney!- Keep track of your scores and be honest. Rules will be in place for those that that wish to participate. Others can just have some fun. Prizes are yet to be determined/donated.
Costume contest- Sorry folks, A fursuit is not a costume! your fursuit must come in costume if you want a chance for a prize. Since this contest will be traveling to the mini-put course at a family laden venue please keep any and all costumes PG. This includes Gory or overly scary attire. This request was made by the great wolf lodge last year and we have a good reputation with them currently. The winner will be determined by ballot. and the winner announced after dinner.
Bar-B-Que- So far it's hamburgers, homemade by yours truly and whatever sides and or dishes folks wish to bring.
All net proceeds from this event will be donated to The Canadian Cancer Society. That means after admission is paid by everyone and donations tallied the only monies that they will not get is direct expenses to hold the meet. Ie. the cost of the food unless donated. The meet will have a letter of acknowledgment from the CCS. Let's do this thing as a community and do some good with the power of furry! Donations of 20 dollars or more as far as i know at this moment will be entitle to a tax receipt from the CCS. my goal is to raise 500-1000 dollars.
A little about why I am holding this event. In the last two years a good friend of mine has lost both his parents to cancer. His father on the week of his wedding and his mother while we were participating in a friends wedding a year later. These were good people, they encouraged imagination and gave my friends and I a safe place to game and enjoy ourselves. They were always full of encouragement and kind words. I loved them dearly as we all did. Now, More recently we have lost our neighbor to lung cancer. Amongst us another good friend is also having to take care of his mom who is currently battling breast cancer. My good friend and pal even at some distance from me is battling cancer with two beautiful little girls dependent on her. And sadly my dear aunts, that's right two of them. I have had the pleasure of a visit from one of them recently. She has been given a limited time and I can only hope to face my own mortality with such grace and dignity. My other aunt does not have much of a chance either. So while sitting here thinking of all the effects this disease has had On me and my friends I figured it was time to do something about it.
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission
is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
Please repeat this post where you can and lets make this grand event. Respond in this post if you are interested in attending or volunteering to help out. Contact me at caleb[at]effinghamprductions.com
If you have not read NAG is the Niagara Anthros Group. It is the title Niagara meets organized by me or other members if they so choose will be held. It's just a name we can use to have some form of representation. I will be looking into having memberships and the likes for folks that would like to organize events. Some rules will apply.

Two heads aren't better than one...
Posted 15 years agoLooking for research participants
Posted 16 years agoMy research study has concluded ~ thank you to all who participated or showed interest in participating.
(cross-post)
I am conducting a research study on ‘what it means to be a furry’ for a class project. I realize that there already exists a small amount of academic and non-academic research that consists of demographic and quantitative data (see Alex Osaki, UC Davis, David Rust, Kyle Evans, and Kathy Gerbasi). But I am interested in qualitative data, which relies less on numbers and more on subjective explanations and experiences. Because the fandom means different things to different people, I am interested in knowing what those meanings are, where they are made, and how they are reproduced.
I am looking for voluntary participants who are self-identified furries and over the age of 18. If you are interested, a consent form will be provided outlining your rights and how they will be maintained – it must be signed or emailed back to me. You can participate in one of two ways; 1) fill out a questionnaire, or 2) arrange an in-person (if you live around Toronto) or Skype interview with me.
To get started, please let me know (by email only: discourse-dumpling@hotmail.com) which approach you’d like to participate by as well as preliminary information about yourself:
- website from which you are reading this
- your furry name (or username)
- age, biological sex, self-identified gender, and location
- ethnicity
- spirituality/religion
- occupation
- education level
- relationship status
- fursuiter (full, partial, or none)
I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Also please spread the word about this study, it would be very much appreciated =3
