How did you discover fursuits/Fursuiting?
CSI... sort-of, maybe.
This is a good one. I have wanted an animal costume for as long as I can remember. Like, early if not pre teenage. Initially I wanted a Giant Panda. I'm not sure if I discovered the term "Fursuit" from that episode of CSI or if I knew it before, but I watched that episode with my mother on its first airing. She already hated animal costumes and had a small idea I wanted one, and it didn't really help. At some point in high school I moved from wanting a Giant Panda mascot suit to discovering fursuits and wanted a Snow Leopard fursuit. I then found the furry fandom as a whole and moved to developing a cheetah character, which I didn't name for about 3 years.


What made you decide to get/make a suit of your own?
Well, similarly to previous question I just always wanted one. At a young age I was Simba for halloween, I have no memory of it but have seen it on home video, and I think maybe being dressed as a lion and receiving candy as a reward for it was permanently etched into my brain. Wear fursuit gain loot.

Did you make your suit or buy it? If bought, who made it?
 bycats4cats made Boost, and I love it. Its amazingly comfortable to wear and looks cute, too.

Why did you choose this maker if bought?
I liked Eric's style, I liked his no-bullshit attitude to customers, and he had a pretty quick turnaound time for someone with such a high demand, I got my suit in 4 months.

If you could have anyone make your next version, who would it be?
I don't think I'll need a next version. I mean yeah, Boost is going to wear out, its clothing it won't last forever, but thats a fair few years away and artists change, at that point there might be zero of the artists I would consider now.

Best suiting experience:
FurDU, I think.

Worst suiting experience:
I don't think I've had a bad one. I dunno, that one time in the park with my old wolfsuit, where those kids wouldn't fuck off.

Describe your first suiting outing:
Ever, I went on a car cruise in wolfsuit and kind of stood around in a carpark for a while. Second outing was a halloween car cruise and I mingled with the crowd a lot better, got a hella-bunch of hugs and high fives and compliments and shit-stirrers.

What is your favorite part of your suit (a detail that's special, or something you feel was executed perfectly)?
I love the facial expression, Boost is just so happy to do things, whatever it is!

What would you change about your suit if you could?
Better vision (not that it has poor vision), completely form-fitting without hindering movement, but that's either impossible or at least very freakin' hard, plus then it wouldn't hide my gut as much.

How long did it take to save up for your suit -or- how long did it take you to make your suit?[/b
I didn't save for it. I got a quote with no money whatsoever, but tons of assets. Sold some stuff, got the deposit quickly, saved a bit, spent a bit, gave Snapcat some more money, then it was finished and I ordered a credit card and gave him some more money again as well as paying for FurDU. Woo disposable income.

[b]What does fursuiting mean to you?/why do you fursuit?
It's just so much fun, and I don't know why. It's not for everyone, that's for sure, but I enjoy doing it, I enjoy the reactions I get from people. All the same reasons I drive goofy cars, like my tiny, loud, blue camoflauge Daihatsu, its just silly fun, some people probably get a bit annoyed by it but hell, no matter what you do in life, there's always going to be somebody that hate it, so do what makes you happy.

If you had to choose a maker from an opposing style to make a version of your suit in their style, who would you choose (Between toony and realistic)?
I have no idea D: I don't know because I don't want a realistic version of boost, he's a toony character and needs to stay that way. I guess Keeatah? I really like Mon's Heidi head.

Do you prefer suiting at cons or at public events/places?
Both! At a con, with other fursuiters, but out in the public's eye is the most fun. You're in a great mood and get to show off in public, and usually members of the public have seen you in passing and are curious enough to want to interact.

Do you prefer suiting indoors or outside?
Outdoors. I'd rather suit in 30 degree heat with a breeze than 20 degree cool with still air. Breeze is cooling, stationary is heat death. Walking around indoors gives the cooling effect, but its hard to walk far enough to get cool enough.

Do you talk in suit? Why or why not:
To furs, constantly. To Joe Public adults/older teens, often, but not to kids. Why? Because really, cut the crap, anyone with most of a brain will realize I am just a man in a suit. It depends on the conversation, though.
I'll never ever take my head off in public, except for when I'm putting the suit on/off, and then I sit in a car and do it, preferably with window tint. That reminds me, I need to get the Volvo tinted.

Is your suit your fursona a representation of you or just a character to play?
Boost is fantasy Mitch. So, both? Its an exaggerated representation of myself.

How do you like to perform in your suit? What character do you give it?
I goof around, I touch/take stuff I probably shouldn't, I'm a little bit (more) annoying, I'd say I'm me but more outgoing, but I've become more outgoing since I've been active in the furry fandom.

Did your character’s personality change at all after getting a fursuit?
Well, he got one. Boost's personality was never really represented in artwork, (just his insatiable bondage lust), where Boost: The Fursuit stays M-15. (cause I fucken swear and make sexual innuendo heaps)

I reviewed my Boost fursuit from ByCats4Cats for a few weeks ago and realized not many people may have seen it.
I accidentally sent the draft copy instead of sending it, so I think there are typos or shit that doesn't make sense, but oh well.

Soooo I have an open facebook. And I upload a lot of photos of me fursuiting on facebook. And I have a lot of the mechanics and office staff I work with ask me about it. It's pretty fun seeing their reactions, seeing what kind of questions they ask, how they ask it.

From the straight up "What's a fursuit?"
To the nervous, awkward "Hey uhhh... So I was on facebook... and I saw some photos... and like, you were... tagged in them. And... it was like... a cat... mascot kind of thing. Was that you in there?"

I tell them, its a hobby like any other, just a less common one. I say there are plenty of people like me, some people ask if thats why I went to Queensland (FurDU) where I say yes. If they ask why I do it, some people I tell I was Simba for halloween when I was 4, and its been concreted into my brain that dressing up as a cat will bring me sweet sweet endorphins, (which is actually why I think I'm a furry). Some people I tell I went to a highschool costume ball and wore a bear suit, or that I had to do it for work and enjoyed it so much I wanted my own suit (both true stories, but I knew I wanted a fursuit suit long before either of those happened)

I get all kinds of reactions, mostly good, including "You should wear it to work one day" and "I want one".
They usually stop wanting one when I reveal how much Boost cost.

One of the guys who have asked me already knows a guy with a fursuit, and told me that's he's had sex in their fursuit, and went on to say they explained not everyone does. He didn't ask whats with the costume, he said to me "I already know what a fursuit is, all I want to know is do you fuck in yours?" I said, "Not in any you'll ever see in public."

He was one of three (out of the 20 or so total) co-workers that have asked if I have had sex in fursuit.
Another one of those three (who is already into BDSM and petplay) wants a murrsuit. His name is also Mitch... go figure.

What made you choose the species of your main character?
Boost the Cheetah: I like felines, I feel they fit me best. I originally wanted a snow leopard costume in early highschool before I even discovered the furry world. I would have had one at age 15 instead of buying my first car if I didn't think mum would destroy it to spite me. I had a mild obsession with Russian military, especially WWII planes, and liked the grey and black color scheme, so snow leopard was cool I guess. I changed to the cheetah soon after finding furries as I have a need for speed, and the cheetah is the fastest thing on land with legs and a heartbeat. It took months to name him Boost, but I had a good idea of what he looked like in my head. When i got my ref sheet, he looked a bit more 80's/90's punk than I originally thought, but I really liked the look, as I like a lot of 80's/90's stuff, even if I wasn't alive or old enough to see most of it firsthand.

Is your character just like you, or how you want to be?
Boost is fantasy Mitch.

Does your character have the same personality you have?
I think Boost is me, but exaggerated. Maybe a bit sillier, a bit gayer.

Does your character have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
I would think so.

Does your character look like you at all?
No. I am a bit overweight and Boost isn't. I have long hair and boost has a mohawk. Plus, I'm not covered in fur.

Is your character the same gender as you, if not why?
Yes.

Do you have more then one main character?
Short answer is no. Long answer is: I have a wolf fursuit. I am getting a fursuit of a bizzaroo avian Boost. These are technically other characters, but I don't see it as such. I guess they will develop into characters over time.

Do you have a backstory for your character, If so does it have anything to do with your own history?
Boost's backstory would be like mine, except with cooler cartoon shit going on. Exaggerated, more fights, trauma, training and less lazyness etc. Things like, I did tai-kwon-do for a year or two when I was about 12, Boost would have done karate, judo, kendo from for longer untill some traumatic event caused him to not be able to anymore or something movie-like.

Is your character mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Boost is... erm, a bit of a slut DX. This wasn't intentional, its just how it's developed. I am happily mated in real live, quite devoted, and would never sleep around. But tentacles don't count. When my real life partner, Jono, starts getting artwork, I guess Boost would be mated in character, too.

If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
I think the previous question answers that.

Is there something special about your character that you think sets them apart from others?
I think Boost is a pretty cool guy. eh fixes cars and doesnt afraid of anythign.

Do you have much art of your main character(s)?
Yes. More is on the way.

Would you ever consider parting with your main character, if so why?
Absolutely not.

Yes, but not a serious roleplay. It may come up in chat, breifly, and last no more than a few minutes.

Do you consider your main character to be a part of you in any way?
Yes. I think boost is how I would like to be represented in a cartoon or TV show or anything, he is pretty much me, just improved. I don't feel like I'm a cheetah trapped in a humans body or anything, but Boost is important to me. Come serious total-immersion Virtual Reality, imagine a hybrid between an Occulus rift, body sensors, the Matrix, Second Life, Avatar and whatever the fuck was going on in the movie Gamer, I would have boost as my avatar.

Answer the door naked. Or in a murrsuit.

So I've bought another z31 300zx. It's an 84, 50th anniversary, 2+2, turbo, manual beast that's had a lot of money spent on it, and other than the collapsed drivers seat its the nicest one I've owned.
It's pretty well standard, other than the turbo timer and suspension, its even got the factory radio in it.
This is number 8, the 4th one I've owned that I've actually driven on a road and the 3rd one I've owned that's been road registered.

In other news, I need to get some art commissioned.
