I decided that I needed to update my Terms of Service and my Will/Won't List so that there would be less confusion on all of it. Plus just some general updates needed to be made. c:

Posted 10 years agoAfter much time and thought I decided I need to update my Will, Won’t and Maybes list and guideline. I need to single other things that I’ve neglected to cover an adjust some other things on the list. I will be including some examples to cover most of what is questionable or what you may be if-y on, but you are welcome to comment with any questions.

Why I Won’t Draw Certain Things;;
Styles other than my own. I added this to the list because it seemed like people were commissioning me with this in hopes of getting a "cheaper" close copy. It's not really fair to ask that of me nor is it fair to other artists, so this is why it's been added.
Modern furry. I personally don't care for the style and it's not my style. So I won't draw it. It's quite fine if you enjoy that style but when commissioning me, understand that I will draw muzzle shapes in my own style with more resemblance to it's species or breed.
I draw to the General Audience. So all of my commissions and artwork on this account will be only SFW. I do have an adult account that I occasionally post doodles or YCHs on, this is because occasionally I have an idea or just want to. I choose not to take commissions for NSFW material because I don't want to have to subject myself to reference searching for accuracy and I do not wish to subject myself to that. Likewise, I also do not do fetishes. There may be one or two cutesy ones I'd be alright with (paws, tickling, etc) but that's about it.
As for my issue with digimon. A lot of digimon tend to be complex in nature versus pokemon that I'm overall more accustomed to. That being said, it'd take me longer to properly replicate most digimon and unless I make an exception, I'd simply rather not. Same with robotics, vehicles, mechas, etc; it's all a level of complexity that takes me a long time. My commission prices for the most part are relatively cheap and I'd like not to have to jack up the price due to constant complex requests.

Understand that by commissioning me you are agreeing to all the following terms.
So please be sure to read over all the info below to ensure you agree to the rules outlined here.
Remember, if I receive a note or comment about commissioning me, I will assume you have read over all of the rules -- failure to do so will result in a decline of your commission.Basics
✎ Commission openings will be announced via Journal or Submission.
✎ I am not an NSFW artist, I will not do adult-themed work or fetishes.
✎ I will decline commissions that make me uncomfortable or have uncomfortable subject matter.
✎ Commissions can take anywhere between 1 week to 1 month to complete.
✎ Regarding WIPs or Previews, I will provide an initial preview of the basic sketch but previews beyond that will depend upon the type of commission ordered and any questions I may have.
✎ I will not do Rush Order commissions.
✎ Reposting finished commissioned work is fine so long as I am credited for the artwork.
✎ I require references. Under rare circumstances, I may accept a description of a character (only if for ref sheet commission). No SecondLife or IMVU references are accepted unless hex codes for each color are also sent.
✎ Unless it was an error on my part at the time of the commission, I will not make revisions to any fully completed commissions.

Payment Basics
✎ I accept Paypal only. All payments must be in USD.

✎ I will invoice you to keep everything organized. So include your paypal when noting for a commission.
✎ All payments will be marked with "goods or services" with "no shipping/address needed".
Refunds
✎ A full refund is only given if I terminate the commission or if it's been less than 48 hours after I've received payment.
✎ If the commission has been started then you will not receive a full refund. You will only receive a refund for the amount I've not yet completed.
How to Order
✎ Check for commission openings (via journal, submission, or other public announcement).
✎ Note me with "commission" in the title.
✎ Include the type of commission you'd like, your visual ref(s), and basic information of what you want.
✎ For traditional refs, I require the commissioner to supply hex codes for color accuracy.
✎ If a specific pose is requested, please provide as clear and concise description or picture reference of the pose as possible.
*Added Note*
Although you can re-post commissioned images into you’re gallery. You are not permitted to use my artwork for commercial use such as: t-shirts, badges, buttons, etc. However, if it is for personal use, such as a single printing of a commissioned image for yourself (or a friend it was commissioned for) IS allowed.
With all this being said, IF these rules are broken or ignored this could lead to a temp. blacklisting from commissioning me and if further offenses occur it will result in permanent blacklisting.

Drawing Commissions with Perspective
Posted 10 years agoBeen like a month since I actually spoke aside from posting submissions. So in light of that I wanted to take about a serious subject, perspective. Particularly with commissions, and I know that it doesn't seem like a huge deal but to us artists, perspective is a very important part of the drawing.
Perspective is what makes a picture look cool, or unique, or stylish. Without perspective all drawings would just look pretty well the same. No special poses, all would be side or front or back. There'd be no 3/4th views or down or up camera shots. I say all of this to basically just illustrate the differences between what I call 'flat' images and dynamic images. I don't draw a whole lot of particularly dynamic poses, and that would be since a lot of my art is commission work - I don't get asked for a lot of dynamic posings. Not that I'm complaining, because dynamic poses are harder to draw, more challenging.
But there's a fair reason behind why I don't charge a separate price for waistshots as apposed for full body on my commission guide. By not charging you the difference that gives me artist freedom to draw the characters in poses that fall under what you've described for me, and using the means I'd like. Which does mean that when commissioning me you are at the understanding that I don't have to draw your characters completely full body. If the image sees fit or I don't like the way the legs/feet look in the perspective drawn I simply don't have to draw them.
And I'm not the only artist who does this I'm certain. But understand we do this with a good reason - to make the overall image look better we may cut off some minor parts that in a 'photograph' might not even be shown. Especially with a lot of perspective in play, if you adjusted the characters too much then it would throw the image off.
Just thought I'd give a little tid-bit of info about me and my habits.

I figured its about time I give you another update on my life and the crazy stuff that's been going on. It's been since the 7th since I last spoke about what all have been going on so I figured I should.
Life has gotten better by a fair bit. I'm feeling a bit less stressed and feeling better about the art I'm getting done. Still working on picking up the pace so I can actually start the "Cosplay Challenge" (drawing challenge), if you don't know what I'm talking about you should read the comments on this journal. That aside bills have been being covered pretty good, so that's a little less stress. Although my husband is still not getting the hours he really needs, he is working and does get paid enough to cover his bills. My roomie is switching to 12 hour shifts at her job (nursing home, she's a CNA), so she'll work less days and have more days off but still same amount of hours. (Plus good overtime if she gets called in or anything. Whoop.) And overall everything seems to be doing pretty good.
We got a new car, or well new to us, but it's been treated well and looks and drives like it's pretty well brand new. It's a Susuki XL7, it's an SUV. All wheel drive. 2007 model, only has 114,000 miles, so really nice. And we got a pretty good deal on it, something affordable for us right now. My roomie took over payments on the bug (because they were less and my husband couldn't cover both) but in turn this will help her build a credit - which up until now she didn't have. So awesome. Win win. And we have a much more dependable car/suv and it's just awesome.
Overall there's been a bit of disputes here at home (but usually over the wrong tone being used and us being easily offended by one another) so really nothing major. All things that get settled pretty quickly or within a few hours. Over all doing well I think.
Thank you guys, for your support, and your help, suggestion, prayers, good wishes, and just for being there. You mean so much to me. ;w; I'll try to keep you updated on anything important or major as well as increase my work speed along the way~

[Car Review Sort-of] Don't Buy a Bug
Posted 10 years agoThis is not a rant on Volkswagen, just some annoying features you should know before you buy a VOLKSWAGEN 'NEW' BEETLE (1997-2010) [I believe those are the correct years]
I do not claim to know a lot about cars; nor a lot about Volkswagen, this is just my experience with a 1999 model
Okay now that you all have been warned at the top, I will begin.
The 'new' beetle as they call them was come to be known as the standard bug for many years. Although well recieved (as I've seen a lot around during my lifetime) these little buggers came with a lot of issues that neither me nor my husband knew when purchasing a used one.
Ours is a yellow 1999 new beetle, (that's the model name, it is by no means new pfft), which came a bit messed up because the previous owner (before the one who sold it to us) ran it through a fence and messed up the back bumper among other things. The poor car as been treated well in our car and has been fixed time and time again. Still there are problems that come with these things that are manufactured faults. So not caused by the fence or any other incidence.
The biggest and worst problem these bugs have is they devour coolant. And I use devour lightly here, I mean these cars consume coolant like a kid does candy on halloween night. I mean it's BAD. And really they are well known for this fault. Sadly neither me nor my husband did our research and are paying the price for this one. Which is costly and terrible.
The second biggest problem they are known for is burning oil. For any of you non-car savvy people like me, this means that you constantly need to put oil in the thing. Which is very bad and quite costly. Running a car low on oil will tear it up.
There are other problems as well, mostly being the design of the back pillars leaving huge blind spots that cause issues backing up. Minimal visibly = more fender benders. *sighs* There's more still yet, the back seats are comfortable though if you are a bigger individual or happen to have long legs, then sitting behind the driving will be quite uncomfortable. Especially if they happen to have long legs as well. Still not all as we continue on, those of you die-hard automatic users or those of you who haven't learned how to drive stick - DON'T buy a bug. The automatics are terrible from what I hear and have so little horsepower/torque in comparison. It just isn't worth buying. Upon all these other issues to be aware of the whole car is made very cheaply, so plastic. Which breaks off way too easily, if you live in a town that has pot holes (like mine) or you drive a lot of gravel paths or sloped drive ways - don't get the bug. Please. I beg you, don't. The dash is another crazy story, the dash in these cars are huge and uncomfortably so. It serves no purpose as the glove box is far too small to fit anything in it! Gloves are about the only thing that will fit in them! You'd think with the dash as huge as it is surely beneath the hood is spacious, right? Wrong! These cars are so compacted that it's darn near impossible to do simple swap outs without taking the whole thing apart! Like holy crap? Really? Why did you make this car like this? The backs are hatchbacks and while I'm not the biggest fan ever off them, this is one of the WORST hatchbacks I've ever seen. Very little fits properly into it. I mean geez.
Now to any of you who have read my entire review, I hope it serves you well. And PLEASE be smart when buying a car (I've learned my lesson), ALWAYS look up reviews, videos, and anything that has to do with the car if you are dead set on it. It will save you so much problems later!

Posted 10 years agoSo whilst I'm working on wrapping up my overdue queue of commission work, which is being cut down and getting near done everyday, I've been racking my brain to figure out what I should do next as far as commissions go. Themes or what sort of slots I should take on, etc. I've not gotten any real ideas thus far, minus perhaps taking some suggestions for daily themes or a month theme.
I really would like to do another draw-a-day challenges like I did back in.. Sept/Oct? I think it was September. That was really enjoyable and challenging. It helped me quite a bit I think.
But I'm not sure how I should do about it really. Hmm. So I wanted to hear your guys suggestions on it all. I'm not opening up for slots right now, and not until my queue is empty. But I want a solid idea or two on what I should do before then.
I'm open to any suggestions, and all really. My only stipulation for all of this is that they be SFW suggestions, some blood and gore is okay. And romantic themes are fine. But heavily sexual themes would not be considered all that. I do want to keep all of my commissions on this account (and in general) clean and SFW.

Posted 10 years agoI'm just one of the luckiest peeps in the world I swear;
but night before last my ear was sore and when I awoke yesterday it was painfully sore and felt like an ear infection/inflammation.
Which I'd say I'm right considering my step-dad also had one, or rather two just a day or so before me. and he has it in both ears.
So I called the health department and have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 10:20am so yay.
Hopefully we'll get this sorted out because it is seriously a pain to deal with. Both figuratively and literally.
Though I will say i'm thankful, I haven't had an ear infection in about 3-4 years now.
And prior to that not in 3 or so years either. When I was a little kid I got them all the time, like at least 3-4 times a year for several years. Pfft.Sign the petition to rid FA of the adult ads

I personally haven't had this issue yet myself but I don't want to either!
Seems these outside ads are causing a lot of issues particularly these Adult Ads which a lot are turning out to be porn or really graphic!

Posted 10 years agoOkay, so I wanted to explain just a bit - I have a friend (not my roomie) that is married and has been married to this guy for about two and a half years. Now as much as I love her, and respect her as a friend, she doesn't always make the best decisions and she can be a bit rash. The man she married started out being fine, the first six months to a year were pretty good. He treated her well-okay, but since then it's changed. And drastically. Seems every other time, if not every time, I hear from her now she's talking about something that's gone wrong and different things.
Now I don't know the guy very well, and yeah he's been decent when around me, but there's probably a reason for that. You know, she's one of my best friends, you don't show your ass when you're around your wife's best friends unless you want to get it beat. Simple fact, it seems. And he's smart enough not to physically try and abuse her, God if she didn't get him for it, than me and my roomie would. Telling you, no one messes with our friends. Pfft.
Still this guy belittles her, is constantly putting her down and making her feel worthless. Blaming her for his shortcomings and telling her she's the one that needs the change. The only one that needs to change. That everything is her fault and that's why their marriage has went down hill. Constantly demanding she be a perfect little 1950s housewife that tends to his every demand and keeps the house spotless. Now you might know me or my friends particularly well but we'll put it this way: None of us were raised to be perfect little housewives - we were raised to be independent. Needless to say being a perfect housewife, a quiet tends to the husband's whim, kind of wife, is about the further-est thing from the way we are. Now I still cook and do clean, but my husband knows if I'm busy (art/work) then he can fix himself something to eat. He can ask me politely if he wants me to make him something, but he never demands I do. I respect that. My friend's husband tells her constantly she BETTER have cleaned this, or BETTER have food ready. And constantly tells her she doesn't do anything, but she's constantly doing everything he asks.
This is just nuts to me, bizarre that she would tolerate these actions and his terrible actions towards her.
He has throw things at her before, including a coffee cup, who the F throws a coffee cup with coffee in it at someone? Like what the hell? Upon telling her she's pretty well worthless and good for nothing - she has found evidence that he might be sleeping around. AKA condoms hidden in her car that he takes to work, with some missing from the pack that she didn't know existed until a day or two ago. Now there's a lot more into this story that I won't go over because it's more personal and not my place.
But guys, please tell me, what would you do in her position? I'm a supportive friend and I've explained to her that it's no way to be treated, and no way to live. As has my roomie/bestie - still our friend insists she loves him and can't just.. leave him. But by his actions, his words, and everything - he doesn't love her. This is not a mutual thing anymore.

Posted 10 years agoI apologize for not being around much today,
Yesterday I was making myself some food and I pulled out some leftovers that smelled... Questionable.
Well, I figured it'd be alright not remembering that I made it nearly six days ago,
And I felt unwell promptly after eating it, but this morning I woke up at six thirty.
And between then and twelve I got sick five times... Among other things.
Still not completely well but getting there. I believe I got food poisoning from those leftovers.
So... Anything questionable in the fridge, I will not eat. It's not worth it.And now I know, thank you all for explaining!
Posted 10 years agoMy last journal asked for explanation of what the Iron Artist challenge was, as I've seen it around a lot and never could understand how or what you were supposed to do. But I pretty well get it now.
It's like most challenges to complete art within a certain time limit with a large quantity of slots; often it's to challenge the artist to complete quality faster and better for a cheaper price as to give commissioners a good deal.
And this all makes sense to me, I've done something similar to this before I believe.
My 30 day challenge went smoothly, though the Iron Artist slots are more like 25-50 Slots in 30 days or less. Which would be sort of cool and crazy to accomplish.
Was thinking of doing something similar in the future but I wanted to see what sort of guidelines or expectations there were I needed to follow. Etc. If I were to do Iron Artist slots, what would you want me offer? Sketches? Flats? Cell? Soft? Icons? Etc.
(As a note this wouldn't be this month or even next month; Though maybe in July and August.)

Posted 10 years agoSo my friend/sister/roomie arc-n-thea and I have decided to do a Fantasy RP, which I've never actually done a true fantasy based RP. She's written out the beginning to the tale with a character already made and ready. My problem is I don't have a character yet. I've been roleplaying for a long time now (eh we'll say for eleven years) and I typically use canines, and some felines whilst RPing. Which led to a comment by my friend that maybe I should branch out to another species - so I'm racking my brain and coming up short on this.
So please, suggest ideas to me.

I'm going to use several characters in this RP, but I need a main one, one that will stick throughout the course of the story. I'm thinking she'll be a hired hand on a ship that picks up Whitlock (beginning plot pfft). Life just keeps getting worse, and I have no flipping clue as to why. It always seems like when it rains, it pours.
So what's going on now? Well, still the tv (we've only had for a year) is broken, with no way of fixing. My husband is still without a job (and not for lack of trying). And after spending $160 something on two new tires for my truck; today it decided that something was going to fudge up on it - which according to my husband and his uncle (who know a fair amount about cars) says my truck is going to die on me. Which is to be expected I guess, since ya know, it's got 199000 miles or something on it. But it couldn't have picked a worse time to screw up;
backed up on art; no other form of income;
barely managing bills; trying to save up to fix the house (and haven't managed to save ANY for it);
husband is umeployed; best friend/roomie is stressed and works full time;
and now this?
The only dependable form of transportation I have/had - and it's not going to be for much longer.
I don't even know what to do anymore;
This year has been off to a rotten start; and I'm running out of options...
For the up-tenth time this year, I've wanted to just curl up in a ball and just cry. This year has sucked worse than most years, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better for me.
Life just keeps getting worse, and I have no flipping clue as to why. It always seems like when it rains, it pours.

(Another) Life Update
Posted 10 years agoSomewhat of a continuation of this, but not exactly.
Okay, so some things have gotten better, and some not so much better.
Recently every time I've started to work on commissions something has come up and stopped me. Life, family, friend, or something has come up. Or taken up more of my time than I intended. I am making progress still, just.. not as much as I wish I were. :/ Which is upsetting me to say the very least.
On the plus side, my husband did manage to get food stamps, which is helping quite a bit. Taking some stress off of me and my roomie as far as money goes. So that is a good thing. Probably the best thing out of the recent time.
/still/ it seems like with every good thing is another bad. :/ But I'll get to that in a minute.
Still no luck on my husband getting a job, so that sucks. My truck's front tires are.. REALLY bad so I have to get them replaced to tomorrow. Which is taking money from our christmas fund that we'll have to replace before then. D: Which sucks. Bah.
My family's good, my husband's is doing mostly alright considering, my roomie's family is doing well - so that's all pluses. So that's another good thing.
One of my (and my roomie's) friends is having so many problems. And I've always been a pretty easy person to talk to. So she's come to me A LOT in the past week. Like.. counting today? I've seen her like 4 days out of this 'past' week (monday to now) And all of it's pretty well about her relationship with her husband. Which I and everyone else has told her that she deserves better. So.. that's a thing. *sighs*
Another issue arose today, which my roomie doesn't know about yet. But I figure she'll either see this journal or I'll explain when she gets home from work. But for no particular reason our (or rather her, it's in the main room) TV, which is an Emerson 39" HDTV, has just died. It is just barely over and year, and it just.. stopped working. To be exact, my other friend (with the relationship probs) was watching something on it and it just turned off. No, actually it just acted like someone unplugged it and it won't come back on. Not for anything. ;^; which means another thing on many to be replaced and for my best friend (roomie) to be stressed about.
Which I hate, because when she stresses then I stress more, and I can't be of much help. And it makes me feel useless.. because as of late I've just /felt completely useless/ I mean I haven't been able to contribute more than barely managing to pay the bills (water, electric, internet) - and other than that.. nothing. Which is making me stress a lot more than I should be. I just.. sort o want to curl up in the corner and cry. /Because maybe that would help/ for like five minutes and then I'd just go back to being stressed as the reminder of being an adult would sink back in.
Can I just.. like go back to kindergarden? Drink juice boxes and take naps? Please.. someone make me a five year old again, when life was easy and the biggest problem in my world was not getting to stay up as late as I wanted to...
