My characters

I’m Miikan.
I’ve been in the fandom longer than I can remember, and I’m a bit of a nerd. I’m so much of a nerd that all my OC’s and my sona are tied into the D&D world I made, most of them can be found (and will be found) by my players.
So all backstories, all the “lore” and all other things have ties to my D&D world. Its name is Grezzia and the main capital is Haven. I do want to write everything down, and give an explanation what all of my OC’s mean to me, cause every single one of them I made myself has a meaning to me. And most of the adopts their personality can be tied to me one way or another.
One thing about my D&D world: portalmancy is the main gimmick of it. Making portals between worlds. Scrying to the other worlds so you don’t end up somewhere underground or in hostile areas. Meaning my players could have characters from any piece of media, or even make their own worlds. That’s why I have OC’s originating from basically everywhere.
Height: 1,98m (6' 6")
A white anthro wolf with icey blue details/highlights and heterochromia. He is a very promising apprentice portalmancer. Best conjurer in class. He has a natural feel for it, and makes the most stable portals. He met his girlfriend Quis a while ago, and has been in a loving relationship since then. He is introverted, but everyone who gets past his initial shyness will find out everything about all that he knows, if they’re interested in it. He has a couple of friends in Haven, notably Miikan. They met in the library and have started talking because of similar ideas they had.
Everything I aspired to be eventually. But eventually I fall short of him. He is successful in both life and love, and is helping everyone the best he can. He’s often portrayed with a lab coat, cause I always wanted to be working in a laboratory or something sciency. If life hadn’t dealt me the cards I’ve been given, I would probably be on his level of importance in real life as he is in my world.

Maybe because she is Nemo from an alternate timeline. Or is Nemo an alternate of her? Whatever the case is, the universes they live in are practically the same, but everyone is the opposite gender.
What if I was the opposite gender, what if I made different choices in my life. Would I still be me? Would I still be on this site? What if I did finish my studies, what if I did go into the medical field, what if…

She is a red fox, a bit standard but cute. She’s another portalmancer, but she’s more of the emotional aspect behind portalmancy. Why do you want to go there, what’s the purpose of this portal. Nemo will make the best portals, but Quis knows where they need to go. She will most likely first sit someone down and analyse them, before analysing where the portal must go. She is the best scryer of her class, and was bound to work together with Nemo. Reluctant at first, she eventually started to enjoy his company, how awkward it could be. She’s an extrovert, and asked Nemo out on date first. She’ll usually take the lead in any social situation, and will drag Nemo anywhere she wants. She has a lot of friends, but she can rely most on Sasha and Huan.
I played a bit with the names. For if I am nobody (Nemo), the opposite of me is somebody (Quis) Social until it almost becomes annoying, daring, and not afraid of doing something she hasn’t done before. She’ll jump right into any situation. She’s empathic, amazing with people and can make friends in a heartbeat. I could learn some things from her. She’s usually dressed casual because she’s going relaxed trough life. I’m constantly stressed so to speak.

A half-elven explorer, who has been travelling the worlds for a couple of years. He always comes back to Haven, cause it’s where he grew up. He’s been known to go to various worlds and document the wildlife and especially plants, trying to find ways to make helpful potions out of them. He works closely with the owners of Haven’s pet store, supplying information about exotic animals they can observe so they can wild shape into them. Lately, he’s been visiting one specific tavern in haven, cause of a certain someone who works there.
For some godforsaken reason my brain played a cruel trick on me. Even though I do not like change, new places and new things, I do like to explore. Taking a different route home, going down an alley to look at something that caught my eye, or just not using GPS when walking somewhere so I take different ways to get there. And somehow I find myself staring at something special along the way. Like a mural, some beautiful scenery or just some pretty dope architecture. If I had any artistic bone in my body, I would constantly have a booklet with me in which I would make sketches.

A mouse tavern girl. She loves to make the “for you, it’s on the mouse” joke, and makes it at least 10 times per day. Which takes a chunk out of her pay, because giving out free drinks isn’t always appreciated by her boss. She is flirtatious, but would quickly be taken aback by someone who would flirt back. She is warming up to one adventurer tough, who has been visiting regularly.
Well, my insecurity in relationships for starters, dressed as the type of girl I’d love to ask out on a date, but was too cowardly for to do. She’s usually dressed goth because that was (and to be frankly still is) my type. Always believing loved ones would leave her, she has become very shy towards any potentials.

A rabbitfolk with white fur, black hair and black markings. He hops around various worlds, looking for people who need to escape their situation, but have no idea how to get out. A smuggler, so to speak, but he never asks for money from the people he saves. He even makes sure they can get their lives started in Haven, providing them with contacts and matching their abilities to jobs where help is wanted. In cases he can’t find them a good start, he will keep looking with them and provide a modest living. Because of his world hopping and smuggling, he is wanted in various worlds, which makes him very cautious. In one of his adventures, he saved Sasha, and she has fallen for him.
I love travelling (to an extent), and I’ll be one of the first to say “sure” to a street performer asking for “a hand from a big strong guy”. I try to help anyone and everyone, even if it means getting weird looks or being opposed. It does however frequently lead to me being emotionally hurt, or drained, or worse obliterated. But I keep doing it, because that’s how I am.

A calico chubby tabaxi. After being raised by a noble family as a servant for their kids, she almost was sacrificed for their dark lord. After being rescued by an angel (who slaughtered the family) she travelled her world, looking to bring justice in it. After she lost hope in that world, Haru found her and brought her back to Haven. She is forever grateful, and even fell in love with him. Now she works as a servant for the ruler of Haven, having the most experience in that line of work. She still has her tome from the other world on her always, and will use it to protect anyone.
You know the line “good soldiers follow orders”? Yeah, I will do that. I will aim to please a lot of people (it’s different than helping, cause that’s usually both getting something out of it), following any order. I have been emotionally manipulated by so many people who took advantage of this, so I tried breaking free of it (the noble family). This however made me timid, mistrusting, and scared of this world. All the good interactions I have had with people (online and IRL) are getting me to find hope again tough, but it’s going to take a while.

A human from Earth, finding himself transported to Haven after some sort of cosmic coincidence. His curiosity and creativity makes him a very interesting member of the tinkerers guild. He is still trying to get back to Earth, but he’s a lot more interested in what’s going on in Haven. Life is about the journey anyways, so why not enjoy it a bit. Whenever Huan comes to visit him, it makes his day. And he’s working together with Nemo to make portable portals. If he’d get the chance to go on an adventure, he’d gladly take it. For not all those who wander are lost.
He is my self-insert in my world. He’s not an all-powerful ruler, an epic level wizard or anyone of importance. He’s just him, doing what he loves to do, tinkering away. The main question I asked myself was: what would I do when transported into a fantasy world. And my answer was: simple. I’d try to survive, and keep a low profile.

A pandaren warrior turned cleric, she came from Azeroth. After leading an adventurous youth, she grew tired of all the drama that was going on in the world. You can slay only so many world threatening creatures before getting bored of it. So she found her way to Haven after some experimenting with some wormhole generators. She found out that Haven is also sort-of a failsafe for teleports gone wrong. With enough items and gold on her, she laid down her shield and joined the clerics, eventually joining the keepers of the dreams. An order devoted to Yumir, one of the gods of dreams and prophecies. She kept her interest in tinkering from Azeroth, and sometimes goes to the tinkerer’s guild for advice and to experiment, teaching and learning. But mostly to see Miikan.

This may sound kinda weird, but Huan is just everything I would love to look for in a partner. Tall, protective, inventive, tall, serene, healing, comforting, but also helpful. Did I mention tall? To be fair, those are a lot of things I’m looking for. But she’s also “a dream”. I know I probably won’t find everything in one person, I thought I did a couple of times, but I was proven wrong again and again.

One of the royal guards, Marcus has worked his way up to where he is now. He has the scars to prove he’s worthy of being there, but still will doubt himself immensely. Nella Lightforge, the queen of Haven, reassures him on the daily he’s doing a great job. He frequently gets assigned sentry duty in the castle, together with Dominik. Which caused him to get a boost in confidence, and find a good friend.
Since I am on the spectrum, I’ve always been different. And since I’ve always been different, and I grew up in a place where the average IQ was below room temperature on a winter’s day, I was bullied. Relentlessly. And not only by the kids. Which manifested in trauma. Which is reflected in Marcus’ design. Almost every scar (sometimes a group of scars) and every location of them has a meaning. It feels like I’m gonna use him to process some of my trauma, and I must thank

Once a soldier from a different world, Tormin had not much to do. The world was at peace. And then he heard the news a battlefield was formed. A place where you could go wild, score points for whatever god you followed, and could battle against others. A marvelous training ground too. So now he resides there most of the time, teaching others certain techniques and just having the time of his life.
I had anger issues as a kid, I was violent, I was wild. I had an emo phase. Now my emotions are very much under control, but it’s still a memory I bear. I have hurt people, unintentionally. And I hope to never do that again.

Found near graveyards, Maveth follows the god Icthlarin. Making sure the dead get their last rites, and making sure they are guided by Icthlarin to their final destiny. They can hop in and out of the spirit plane, guarding the souls until it’s time for them to move on. They have met Gabriella so many times, and sometimes work together. The one consoling the family, the other consoling the soul.
It sounds weird to write it that way, but I always had a connection with the mystical and the spiritual. Not proficient enough to hear or see spirits, but spiritual enough to believe it’s out there and feel things.

Mommy Tanaka runs a bakery in Haven. She puts a lot of care in the bread and the pastries she makes, making them the best ones in all of Haven. She is known to experiment, so not every cookie or pastry is… suitable for every person shall we say? From weird ingredients to straight up infusing food with magic, she will ask what ails you, and try to make your day better with something. And she will go far for the people she likes, experimenting until she finds exactly what you need. Whatever it is. But will also care for herself when needed.
I will do whatever I can for the people I care about, often going above and beyond what others would do. But I also sometimes just stop doing everything for others and take a bit of time for myself. Too bad those moments are few and far between, which makes it so I often experience social burnout ^.^”

She’s very fun to be around, and you wouldn’t even know she was nobility unless the topic came up. She faintly smells like vanilla, and loves to chat.

BATCUBUS, and I just really wanted to get something from them. According to the creator she’s very soft and jiggly, like the puddings she’s inspired on.

The second royal guard of the pair. He is usually assigned sentry duty with Marcus, something the queen does to boost Marcus’s confidence. Even though Marcus doesn’t know it, Dominik knows she does it. And he tries to boost Marcus’ confidence in the most subtle of ways, faking not seeing things that Marcus spots then, making jokes, being the best friend he can be. He’s still young for a red dragon, so his skills aren’t that honed yet, but he’ll use his strength to protect the kingdom as good as he can. His friends live there.

scrofasus, he is… Well, my protectiveness. And the strength needed to protect the ones I care about. I’ve always been someone who would stand in the way of an assailant so someone else wouldn’t get hurt. A bit of a meat shield, but I can take a punch. When being a camp leader, I have taken punches from kids so other leaders wouldn’t get hurt, and I’ve stept in between many physical conflicts.

mollymilk. A rough adopt, but she was too adorable not to get. If I need to tie something from me to her, she’d be my willingness to prove myself. And I have proven myself a lot already. When the diagnose of my tism hit, the researchers told my mother I would never be able to drive, cook, have friends or get a job. JOKE’S ON THEM, cause I have proven myself time and time again. I might have taken longer to do it, but at least I’m not rocking back and forth somewhere in a corner, like they thought I’d be doing.

She appeared in haven one day, camera in hand and a recipe book in her bag. She was making pictures for her food blog, but somehow ended up in haven. With her extensive knowledge of the culinary arts, it didn’t take long for her to be noticed by Nella. Someone with Orc heritage does like to eat, and royalty likes to eat well.

Moonyartt. If I needed to give her one of my traits, it’s definitely my love for cooking and baking. People say I make the best cookies, and whenever I like the taste of something I try when I’m out, I’ll try (and usually succeed) making it at home, and even making it better. I’m not saying I would be a great chef, but I do know my way around the kitchen.

She was sewn together by a mad scientist who wanted to see if he could create someone extraordinary. The neck of a famous cabaret singer, the legs of a great runner, the body of a model… She came out a bit different than he hoped. Muscles lose strength, and the brain doesn’t recognize the potential of everything when it is added on without precautionary measures. She did retain the singing voice, and can be found performing in the theatre.

She is a paladin, because some third rank god believes in her and is trying to get her to spread the word of his religion. She does not want anything to do with that. Nemo is an extension of me, my hopes and dreams.Everything I aspired to be eventually. But eventually I fall short of him. Quis, the opposite of Nemo.She is a red fox, a bit standard but cute. She’s another portalmancer, but she’s more of the emotional aspect behind portalmancy. Why do you want to go there, what’s the purpose of this portal. Nemo will make the best portals, but Quis knows where they need to go. She will most likely first sit someone down and analyse them, before analysing where the portal must go. She is the best scryer of her class, and was bound to work together with Nemo. Reluctant at first, she eventually started to enjoy his company, how awkward it could be. She’s an extrovert, and asked Nemo out on date first. She’ll usually take the lead in any social situation, and will drag Nemo anywhere she wants. She has a lot of friends, but she can rely most on Sasha and Huan.

Quis is the opposite of what I am.I played a bit with the names. For if I am nobody (Nemo), the opposite of me is somebody (Quis) Social until it almost becomes annoying, daring, and not afraid of doing something she hasn’t done before. She’ll jump right into any situation. She’s empathic, amazing with people and can make friends in a heartbeat. I could learn some things from her. She’s usually dressed casual because she’s going relaxed trough life. I’m constantly stressed so to speak.

Garreth Pintarc, the explorer.A half-elven explorer, who has been travelling the worlds for a couple of years. He always comes back to Haven, cause it’s where he grew up. He’s been known to go to various worlds and document the wildlife and especially plants, trying to find ways to make helpful potions out of them. He works closely with the owners of Haven’s pet store, supplying information about exotic animals they can observe so they can wild shape into them. Lately, he’s been visiting one specific tavern in haven, cause of a certain someone who works there.
Meaning to me:
Garreth is my wanderlust and sense of wonder.For some godforsaken reason my brain played a cruel trick on me. Even though I do not like change, new places and new things, I do like to explore. Taking a different route home, going down an alley to look at something that caught my eye, or just not using GPS when walking somewhere so I take different ways to get there. And somehow I find myself staring at something special along the way. Like a mural, some beautiful scenery or just some pretty dope architecture. If I had any artistic bone in my body, I would constantly have a booklet with me in which I would make sketches.

Haru, smuggler with a big heart.A rabbitfolk with white fur, black hair and black markings. He hops around various worlds, looking for people who need to escape their situation, but have no idea how to get out. A smuggler, so to speak, but he never asks for money from the people he saves. He even makes sure they can get their lives started in Haven, providing them with contacts and matching their abilities to jobs where help is wanted. In cases he can’t find them a good start, he will keep looking with them and provide a modest living. Because of his world hopping and smuggling, he is wanted in various worlds, which makes him very cautious. In one of his adventures, he saved Sasha, and she has fallen for him.
Meaning to me:
Haru is some of my good traits, but exaggerated.I love travelling (to an extent), and I’ll be one of the first to say “sure” to a street performer asking for “a hand from a big strong guy”. I try to help anyone and everyone, even if it means getting weird looks or being opposed. It does however frequently lead to me being emotionally hurt, or drained, or worse obliterated. But I keep doing it, because that’s how I am.

Sasha, the timid servant.A calico chubby tabaxi. After being raised by a noble family as a servant for their kids, she almost was sacrificed for their dark lord. After being rescued by an angel (who slaughtered the family) she travelled her world, looking to bring justice in it. After she lost hope in that world, Haru found her and brought her back to Haven. She is forever grateful, and even fell in love with him. Now she works as a servant for the ruler of Haven, having the most experience in that line of work. She still has her tome from the other world on her always, and will use it to protect anyone.
Meaning to me:
Sasha is some of my flaws, not always exaggerated.You know the line “good soldiers follow orders”? Yeah, I will do that. I will aim to please a lot of people (it’s different than helping, cause that’s usually both getting something out of it), following any order. I have been emotionally manipulated by so many people who took advantage of this, so I tried breaking free of it (the noble family). This however made me timid, mistrusting, and scared of this world. All the good interactions I have had with people (online and IRL) are getting me to find hope again tough, but it’s going to take a while.

Life is about the journey anyways, so why not enjoy it a bit. Whenever Huan comes to visit him, it makes his day. And he’s working together with Nemo to make portable portals. If he’d get the chance to go on an adventure, he’d gladly take it. For not all those who wander are lost.

You can slay only so many world threatening creatures before getting bored of it. So she found her way to Haven after some experimenting with some wormhole generators. She found out that Haven is also sort-of a failsafe for teleports gone wrong. With enough items and gold on her, she laid down her shield and joined the clerics, eventually joining the keepers of the dreams. An order devoted to Yumir, one of the gods of dreams and prophecies. She kept her interest in tinkering from Azeroth, and sometimes goes to the tinkerer’s guild for advice and to experiment, teaching and learning. But mostly to see Miikan.

The reluctant paladin.When you believe in a god, you become a cleric. When a god believes in you, you become a paladin. She is a paladin, because some third rank god believes in her and is trying to get her to spread the word of his religion. She does not want anything to do with that. She’d rather stay in Haven and live a normal life. The god is trying his damned best to persuade her though.

The astrologist.In the library there’s a section dedicated to the stars. She has written at least half of the books in there, and corrected a quarter of them. She knows anything about the constellations and any major astronomical event that has been, and can pretty accurately predict when the next one will be.
Meaning to me:
A mystery adopt by Racerdragon. She’s just my fascination with the stars and the universe. How small and insignificant we all are in the grand scheme of things, but also how important we can be.References:

Epilogue
This may be a lot of words, and I am certain a lot won’t be read, but I just needed to put everything on paper. I always give any OC I make meaning. Even if it’s just “it’s these parts of me.” And just having something I could give my players if they asked for it.
