Fuck I'm super hyped for this. Mawaru-Penguindrum is like 90% of why I chose a penguin as my fursona in the first place so this is really exciting to me.

Posted 8 years agoOnce upon a time there was a guy named Frederick. He was 16 years old and lived in Bavaria.
He was drafted into the military so he skipped the country and went to the USA where he cut hair for a living.
Then the Gold Rush started, so Frederick decided to head out to the newly formed town of Seattle and buy a restaurant with the money he had saved from barbering. The restaurant was a success, and as more mining towns in the Pacific Northwest were formed, Frederick expanded his business.
Does this sound like a man you'd want as president of the United States? Wait, let me tell you his last name.
Trump.
Frederick Trump is the grandfather of Donald Trump. Donald, who never did anything in his life worth anything, rode his grandfather's coat-tails all the way to the White House.
For every unsuccessful person who rises to fame there's a very successful person who took them there. Paris Hilton rode her hotel-founding grandfather Conrad Hilton. Kim Kardashian rode her lawyer father Robert Kardashian.
And that's the number one problem with society: That bad people are allowed to live because of inheritance. People should not be allowed to just inherit things that they don't deserve.

Greek Miffology
Posted 8 years agoYeah, I don't have any Bible stories right now so have some Greek myth instead.
Once upon a time there was an island called Crete which was ruled over by a king named Minos. Said king was also pretty crazy.
Minos at least realized that an island would need the protection of the sea god Poseidon, so he prayed to him for his favor. Poseidon sent him a bull with the instructions that he sacrifice it, but Minos was too lazy and never did.
He didn't seem to realize that this made Poseidon angry, so Poseidon cursed Minos's wife to fall madly in love with the bull. They then did the nasty and the queen gave birth to a half-human, half-bull monster called the Minotaur (which isn't actually a taur).
To protect his people from the Minotaur, Minos sent word out seeking the master craftsman Daedalus. Daedalus was known at the time for being the smartest person alive. He came to Crete to aid the king, bringing along his son Icarus. Icarus couldn't do anything impressive himself so he just served as his father's assistant.
Anyways, Daedalus built an inescapable maze called the Labyrinth, but for some reason he gave a way to escape it to the hero Theseus (who hated Minos for what I assume is a good reason), who went ahead and killed the Minotaur. This made Minos angry for some reason and he had Daedalus and Icarus imprisoned.
Daedalus, using his genius, fashioned wings for himself and Icarus out of feathers and wax with which they could escape their island prison.
You know how this goes from here, Icarus doesn't listen to Daedalus's warnings, flies too close to the sun, melts the wax on his wings, and plummets into the sea and drowns.
The moral of the story? If you ride through life on your father's success make sure you know that and don't try to go being your own person.
Next time: How Zeus invented gender just to piss off a single person.
