Have fun at Anthrocon!
Posted 6 years agoI don't know if anyone who is watching me is going, I know I'm not, but I hope people who are have fun. I obviously love the theme this year. x3
My next con is probably going to be Midwest Furfest this December. I hope it goes better than last year, but I had a good time at FWA this year, and something else may likely change this year at MFF vs last year. Don't want to say what though. ;)

Obligatory shinies journal
Posted 6 years agoI need to get them back to fix up Isle Delfino and undo the work of Bowser Jr.
I need to actually see what it's like from the donator side first before I turn them on for myself. If you really want to give me money though, note me your email and I'll send you an invoice. I'm waiting.

Rabbit Oviposition Day
Posted 6 years agoIt's better than yesterday.
April isn't a particularly good month.

Everything is fine
Posted 6 years agoI love everything and everybody. I love knowing that what I do matters. I love knowing that people care about what I do and don't just hate me for who I am. I love that I'm surrounded by friends who care about me. I love knowing that people who are around me are my friends with my best interest at heart who would never hurt me or anyone else. I love being loved by people. I love everything and everyone. I'm not going anywhere.
As a confession
Posted 6 years agoI really enjoy the concept of video games, the gameplay, the art design, etc, but I'm also really, really terrible at actually playing them.
I can only ever beat the games I do on the lowest difficulty settings, and 100%ing anything is damn near inconceivable. If it's a multiplayer game, winning any matches is a rare treat and 95% of the time is due to my randomly assigned teammates carrying me. I was only able to beat Super Mario Odyssey using assist mode and amiibos. I have never beaten a game from before 1995 without the use of emulator savestates.
I'm sorry. uwu

Posted 6 years agoNot gonna be at TFF, but most likely gonna be at FWA. However, after that i might not do anything until MFF, although there's a chance I'll be at IFC.

Interspecies romance
Posted 6 years agoSo your furry story is over and love comes through in the end and the fox and rabbit (or whoever) are in love! Yay!
Even if series social norms allow this, there's a lot of questions as to how a furry universe actually follows through with this when it comes to, well, reproducing. There appears to be four categories to deal with this.
1) Hybrids - Rabbit + Fox = Rabbox
This seems to be a popular thing for just loose furry characters without an overarching universe (aka fursonas). Couldn't a cross between two different animals be cute?
While it would, it raises problems for a furry society where nearly every character is a "purebred" antrho. If different species could interbreed, wouldn't hybrids be far more common? You'd see characters going around not even knowing what species there are.
If furry species are treated like real-life dog breeds, then there should be more mutts going around. In fact, any "purebred" furries would probably be highly inbred and genetically unstable, like purebred dogs. RL humans don't classify into more than a few races because you don't have humans go around with the same rainbow of features you see in different animal species.
2) Infertility - Rabbit + Fox = Nothing
This is probably the most realistic option, but it has its drawbacks as well. Rabbits and foxes can't reproduce IRL, so why should the anthro versions be able to?
You could compare this to homosexual couples in real life, but this tends to fall apart. Because of human sex distribution, if a human picked a random other human as its mate, there would be roughly a 50% chance of those two humans being able to reproduce. Furry worlds typically have dozens, if not hundreds, of species all living together. Many furry stories don't even reuse a species for more than one major character.
Consider an example world with 50 species, where each furry is paired randomly with another furry for reproduction for life. There's a 1/50 chance of getting another compatible furry, so each couple would have to produce about 100 children to keep the population stable. That's not even taking sex into account!
3) One or the other - Rabbit + Fox = Rabbit OR Fox
One common approach is to just shrug and say that the child of two different species is one of the parent species and none of the other. This is certainly an unrealistic take by itself, but it keeps the enter furry civilization going.
This seems to be the popular out in furry media that brings this topic up. There are actually three subcategories of this based on sex: Either the species of the child is always based on the mother or father (like in Pokémon), the species of the child is based on the parent of the same sex as the child (there's really not a good prominent example of this I can think of), or the species of the child is random between the two parent species (like in Gumball).
4) Something else entirely - Rabbit + Fox = ???
A completely unrealistic option, but one that settles the species matter entirely, is to have species be completely random. Two parents could produce an offspring that looks nothing like either of them.
One prominent example of this in my mind is the Winds of Change universe, where any two furries produce a human (!) child, which then becomes an anthro animal of a random species as they grow older.

What I want in life
Posted 7 years agoI want to do stuff that makes people happy, but not just because it's what they want.
I want to draw something or program something or just come up with some new idea that people look at and it's like "I like this" not "this is what I want".
I wish I knew how to do that though. Making stuff for other people just makes me feel used but on the other hand if I make stuff for myself then it feels like no one cares about it.
Fuck I don't even know how to make friends anymore. How many people are going to even read this?
It seems people only care about me when I do something wrong.
