What it is, for those of you who don't like running unknown EXEs (which should be everyone out there!), is a quickly-made applet that will rename all files in a directory to remove the number at the beginning from when you download for FA. Since that makes no sense, a better way of putting it would be changing something like

Normally, my inner monologue doesn't shut off when I fall asleep, it just continues, albeit distorted (in the manner that you can call the rest of the dream a distortion of normal senses). What typically happens that my senses form a typical dream (I call this the narrative), whereas my inner monologue provides running commentary (I call this the metanarrative).
I "exploited a glitch" of sorts in the metanarrative that allowed me to take direct control of the narrative. The first part of this glitch is a form of deja vu, wherein my metanarrative identifies the dream as a "sequel" to a previous one that may or may not have occurred. This time, the thought was so strong, it permeated most of my subconscious, making me realize I was in a dream.
To use a computer exploit metaphor, it was as if I threw off a pointer enough so that it pointed somewhere the software developer did not intend. In this case, the pointer happened to land on MSPA, specifically dream selves.
One minute, I was some random person who wasn't me (the main character from the dream) driving a car in the rain. The next, I was myself standing on the street, wearing a Prospit dreamer's outfit (check the link previously, the gold outfit form the images), in clear weather.
Apparently, being lucid comes with some interesting powers related to the more meta aspects of dreaming. I could totally derail the plot of a dream to focus on some insignificant details and I could warp back to a previous dream that night (possibly to a different night altogether, maybe even an all-original setting). I even had in-dream powers like flying (a classic power of MSPA dreamselves)!
In retrospect, this might have been foreshadowed in an earlier dream where I possessed the limited (in-character) power to alter the dream. One premise of the dream involved a virtual reality that characters (including my avatar) could visit. On my first trip in, I made a dumb joke about there possibly being Digimon there. Even though I found it unrealistic at the time, moments later, I found myself face-to-face with four Punimon. (Although, since I wasn't in control, I ended up creating strange things like Pokemon that obeyed Digimon rules.)
