Amazingly, I managed to get the next piece of the animation within a decent amount of time. Pretty much the day after I submitted the last one. Why haven't I uploaded it?

Because FA has decided not to allow Flash uploads. The new animation keeps getting a Fatal Error, and I tested it with the last one which did the same thing, so it's not a file issue, it's the site being a shit. So, next bit of the animation is on hold until i can actually upload it. Sorry. Gives me time to work on further chapters.

I rarely advertise when I stream because to be honest I don't think many people give a shit about it, but given that in the past there was still a relatively steady flow of people entering then running away, it didn't seem important. Now though it seems the only way people can find your streams on Picarto is if there's a ton of people watching at the time, or you get a paid account. For some reason, I'm 100% against the idea that someone should pay money just for a chance for someone to find their content. It's like when you apply for a job and they insist you pay a non-refundable deposit before you can get an interview. Shady as fuck.

Regardless, I'm working on my comic assets still, but I've got a few old models that have been retired. They're functionally ok, rigged and everything, but a little crap. I also want to learn a bit of animation, so I've decided to see how far I can get with an animated porn flash. On one hand, it doesn't look great. On the other, I've learned a ton of stuff already that I plan to carry over to the stuff I'm supposed to be working on. Who knows, if this one goes well, I might do this kind of thing more often.

The stream is starting at about 2030 GMT. No idea how long it'll go on for. Until I lose interest, or have to go to bed because I have an early start tomorrow. A few hours at least!

Yeah, I know I don't often post journals, but had to get this off my chest.

Something needs to be done on this site about buying and selling. Like give it a dedicated section so you can see latest submissions, and latest selling as different areas. If artists want to sell stuff, more power to them, but it's getting to the point where it's more YCH submissions endlessly repeated than actual art.

For example, it's a weekday around noon as I'm writing this. I checked my notifications, and there were 14 submissions and 5 journals. 13 of those submissions were YCH that I've seen many times because they keep getting spammed. Going to the homepage, 15 out of 27 submissions were selling. As I say, buying and selling should be in it's own section. The only time a YCH post should be visible is when the completed thing has been drawn, otherwise it's hardly any better than spam emails in your inbox.

I've been working on this comic thing, and have realised there's some dissonance between the 3d scenery/environments and drawn characters, and each page is taking a lot of time and effort to make, Now, this thing needs regular updates when it launches, so I figured I'd test out doing the whole thing in 3d but rendered to look drawn or cartoony. So, I'm working on learning that and building characters in Blender.

So that's what I'm doing now!

So, the plan was to be more active online and do frequent releases on the Flash things. Then things started to happen to the point that I haven't even opened Flash in a few weeks.

I will be continuing when I have time, but I've kind of hit the last few months of being a student, and the sheer amount of coursework has taken a massive shit on pretty much all my plans. Unfortunately, this has also coincided with a portion of the game development which should have actual gameplay elements and frame-by-frame animation, which takes forever to do.

So for now, I'm concentrating on my coursework and doing little bits here and there as and when I have time. So sorry for the absence.

Hi, I'll try to avoid sob-stories and stuff like that to encourage people to give me money or that kind of thing. I don't believe in getting hand-outs and would prefer to work for whatever, so there's that. This is not a mis-management of money issue, it's more of a broke student trying to find a job but not getting any for longer than anticipated and now I have to quickly earn a bit of cash to not get crippled completely with bank charges.
