First view of my Sona
General | Posted 3 years agoMy first commission came in and it looks so good. I was crying last night with how happy I was. I am absolutely going to do more. Will likely commission the same artist for a ref sheet. He is now my banner on here and he looks so good! Also have him as the background on my phone. Wish I had more friends I could show him to because he is so good. Vulp-X did an amazing job.
Books, tea, and affirmation
General | Posted 3 years agoIt was a minor stressful day but the last half was wonderful. I went to a really nice small bookstore in downtown Idaho Falls. I got What Moves The Dead and ordered a nice tea. Sitting there will a small teapot and reading while pouring myself tea was so nice.
Then tonight I got the first sketch for my fursona. The massive wave of affirmation I got. Connecting myself to my very feminine sona. I'm literally in tears right now. I live in a place where I can't let myself be what I truly want to be and having that extension of myself. Looking and being feminine and masculine. Fuck, I don't even have words. Oh my god.
That deep dream of what I want to be, being something I can actually see.

Cold End to January
General | Posted 3 years agoCurrently -25 degrees here. I am glad it's not mud season but this is still very very cold. Got out yesterday though and got to Target. I got a Gengar Squishmallow! He was literally the last they had. I have loved collecting Squishmallows. They are wonderful and also really help on bad days. Getting excited for my wife and I's anniversary trip to Salt Lake at the end of February. It will be the first larger vacation we have had together.
First of the Year
General | Posted 3 years agoGoing to try and post a journal regularly. If only for myself. The year is starting out strong and I very much hope it stays there. After last year I really really need it. Doing a lot more reading and writing this year. Just finished a book called The Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson. That is the pen name of Nick Cutter who wrote The Troop. It is a beautiful novel of a boy growing up in a small town during the 80s and staring a Ghost Hunting club with his uncle. Hard to describe but it is a very sweet novel.
Other book I read so far this year was Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Didn't enjoy that as much. The setting and world building is really good but I felt like the ending was very unsatisfactory. It is Urban Fantasy but wanted to be multiple other things and didn't really stick any of those.
Next on my list to finish is The Sundown Motel by Simone St. James and I'm liking what I've read so far.
