Laying in bed waiting to pass out is a good time to make a journal summarizing the year I suppose.

2015 will be a year I always remember. Certain events more prolifically than others. It was in this year I operated in my job field for the first time and, to use a worn out phrase, it was awesome.

It was also a year that I experienced loss more great than I could ever prepare myself for. I went out of my mind, and I suspect I'll be recovering from it for a great while.

2015 was a year I was lucky to have as good friends as I do, and they alone are to be credited with pulling me back into a semi realm of sanity. For that I can't express a great enough gesture of gratitude. Thank you hardly seems to scratch the surface, but thank you none the less.

In this year, I realize my priorities in life have shifted. Perhaps they will shift again in the coming years, perhaps not. But, being confined to this island as time continues to drift on by has begun to wear more deeply on me than I imagined. I think i value the idea of being free with a much higher regard. While serving a purpose is certainly still ingrained inside me, perhaps it will be better if I can make my own way, as opposed to sitting on an island and hoping for the chance to. This is a long winded way of saying that I intend to serve my remaining time in the service, and move on.

While it may not sound like much, I can't help but to daydream about living in the back of my truck, spending my time going where I will, where I can, where my friends are.

I think I'm rambling. I didn't mean to make this sound as dramatic as I'm sure I did. Whatever the case, I hope the new year is wonderful to you all.

I seemed to have been completely useless this weekend and haven't drawn a thing.

(This is not for attention or pity, just a farewell to a good friend)

Every day I looked forwards to talking with you. You talked me through the hardest times and I tried to talk you through yours. You helped me grow up, watched and coached me as I faced challenges, you were a consistent reminder of the good people who inhabit this world and a constant source of happiness. I loved you like a brother, and I always will.

And now you're gone.

We always laughed together. I will always remember what a joy it was to chat with you. Right up until your last night we laughed together. A casual conversation about TV and pizza. One that I will never forget.

I hope to god it was painless. I hope to god you had images of your loved ones with you in leu of panic and fear. If there is a lord with any mercy he would've granted a compassionate soul like yours this.

Now there is nothing left but a farewell. I wish I could say it to you, and smile with you one last time. See that you knew you meant the world, not only to me, but to many others. But I have to rely on faith. "have a good night!" Was the last message I left you before you departed on your next adventure, and I have to hope that it and the time we shared, was enough to convey to you what I am about to say.

I hope your next adventure is glorious. You are the best friend I could have hoped for and I will never forget you. I will carry your memory with me in my heart, as will many others, until my last breath. I promise I will strive to be as compassionate as you were. Know that I will smile at the thought of the conversations we had and know that when the time comes I'll happily join you on that next adventure. Until then, stay safe Ben. As always I look forwards to the next time we get to speak.

I have decided to chisel translations of abreviations such as omg and lol into a stone with the purpose of assisting future archeologists in deciphering the mysteries of our culture.

It's all about thinking long term.

Also I will mislead them with chiselings of geese and alien goose girls.

OKAY. I was thinking I want to do something for the holidays. There isn't much I can do, and all i really have to offer are silly doodles.
THAT BEING SAID, here's what I was thinking.

you guys can request things from me. Not for yourself, but rather for someone you'd like to give a drawing to. I'll draw it for you, send you the image (by send I mean digitally... not messing around with shipping), and you can give it to them whenever you please. Specifically I'd like to do watercolors, but I have plenty of media at my disposal. Remember, Im not so great, and I take no responsibility for any awkwardness caused from you giving a doodle to someone, haha.

Okay! If you're interested send me a note of what you'd like to have me draw and any references I may need. I'll determine when (if I get any) I'll have em finished and distributed after I see how interested you guys are.
