Backlog and 2020 to a close
Posted 4 years agoI really don't have many things to say about this year. Nobody really does.
I'm glad I got 90% of my backlog of arts done, all that remains to upload is the concept art of my personal sona, Rafe Silves.
As mentioned in the previous journal, I have around 8 or so, never before seen concept art pieces of this character, which I consider my genuine representation and closest thing to what I can call "sona".
I'll do my best to space the uploads a tad better, as to avoid "shotgun spam" of artpieces uploaded.
These will also feature a bit more of an in-depth dive as part of the descriptions, behind the inspirations, music, lyrics and even snippets of accompanying character lore alongside them, all of which are inspired and translated / conveyed from my real life experiences onto the "character" or visual representation.
I've often compared Drago as my "Inner Child" representation. An "ideal" to strive for, the naivete and glee.
I guess one can say, with Rafe growing into my main representation (And canonically, Drago's father) I've grown into that role by default.
Typically in western furry culture, both the owner and the character are considered to be one and the same person, we call this "Fursona" and a reflection, projection or avatar of the self, be it with the same name or different as we "see ourselves"
In Kemo culture however, the owner and the character are considered both to be separate people to one another, as such, they are always addressed accordingly, as if you were standing in front of them.
For the Westerners out there, when someone directly engages with them in conversation, praise, compliments or even flirting, they are almost always directed towards the owner, whether or not they are in costume as there is no perceived difference between them.
In kemo culture, the owner's character is often referred towards as a member of their own family, such as their child, or cousin, etc.
Western furs tend to want to have a fursuit character of their own fursona. But sometimes their fursuit will act and be completely different than their human selves. In a way, two personalities for one identity.
To put it simply... I'm in a mix between the Kemo cultural way of things with regards to fursona perceptions, as I've "outgrown" Drago, and now see him as still a very important part of myself that needs to be nurtured and protected, but not inhabited or let at the helm any longer.
Hopefully you'll all enjoy what I'll have to offer in the future with this avenue. If not, I'm sorry.
I do hope you've all had at least some positive moments towards the end of the year or throughout your holidays.

Art Backlog Update
Posted 5 years agoWelcome to December.
Oh my gods. This year has been... something.
Yeah, uhm. Honestly, I don't have anything really positive to say about this year aside from thanking each and every one you, and especially of my close friends and ones whom I deem family, for their continued support.
I have a backlog of artworks that I need to post, preferably by the end of this year. So without further ado, a little breakdown of what's to come:
8 never before seen concept art pieces of Rafe Silves, my genuine representation and closest thing to what I can call "sona"
14 SFW artpieces in which Drago is featured and/or cameo. And another 3 NSFW where Drago is featured.
3 new artpieces of my Synthetic Humanoid, Xavier, all of which are mature/NSFW thematic.
2 Nevrean pieces which feature Shigeko and Joukichi!
And a few misc photos of two very gorgeous Vilous paintings I've attained.
That's about... 30 uploads. Give or take.
Dearest me.
I hope everyone has been.. surviving. And doing better towards the end of this year.
I apologize in advance for the spam of art that will come.

Posted 6 years agoThey worshipped, oh so the Shamans said, the ancient White Wolves, which lived aeons before there were any Eltus. Eventually they came out to the young red bloods in visions or sights from the Forests and bathed in the sun.
Those ancient ones were gone now, lost to the Forest or due to Eltus naivety, to the depths or naught but forgotten; but their dead bodies had shared their knowledge and secrets in dreams to the first shamans which formed a cult that lived to this day. The Wolf Mythos thusly so had a new heartbeat into the great nation of what would later become The Shigu.
This was not a cult, but a way of life, giving in reverence to the Forest saviors which had wrought them blades and bone to protect themselves against the terrors. Until the Golden-Eyed one rose up from the Forest itself, with a mighty White Wolf at Her side, ready to gather the clans before Her in unison in order to bring Talyxians to their knees and sate an otherworldly hunger.
He remembers the Hunger
Aching from previous years;
The same in the past where
They had not fed him
Nine Eltus; He remembers
Nine Humans; From Vetla brought
So that he may; Embody Her
Rain lives in Death
Rain lives in Rafe

wolflumin for the very first time. I feel that this is going to be a magical time..
Honestly, it's quite a scary endeavor. I will not lie. It is the first ever convention of this magnitude I'll be attending, let alone on American soil, 10 thousand kilometers away from home.
I hope to meet as many friends as possible, and if anyone here would like to link up, please yell at me over twitter or telegram via Maplesquid !!

New Year - New Update - Art Dump
Posted 7 years agoHello friends~!
I hope you've all had an overall decent holiday season and New Year's. We're already a week into the new one, and things are somewhat relaxed for me now.
I'm going to start with an apology in advance as I've been a bit busy with uploading all the stuff, festivities and such getting in the way, heh.
So.. I'll be doing a tiny art dump sometime soon, please excuse my clutter.
It'll also have one or two non-vilous things coming up as well, one of which is NSFW, so uh.. sowwy.

Current Projects [Update]
Posted 8 years agoHey there~!
Things have gotten quite busy in the background and IRL as of late, but I'm still going forward and slowly chipping away at writing my Sergal's stories out.
A lot of you, both here and on Telegram, have enjoyed my stand alone test piece work titled Perspective. I may introduce some of Drago's story elements as snippets in the nearby future, perhaps even accompanied by artworks, even if they may be plucked out of the proper timeline.
The current main projects as of now are fleshing out the backstories of my main cast:
1) Drago (there is a Fan-wiki page available here however it still needs a few major tweaks as I've decided on adapting his canon a bit to make it more verosimile, as well as make room for a new supportive character.)
2) Rafe Silves (Father) and Cora (Mother), the parents of my Sergal.
3) Lorn the Talyxian Stalker who's Bio-page has been updated a while back on the fan-wiki, complete with supporting artwork by none other than
Hadishaw ~! If you want to check it out, you can click on this link here
2018 should prove a bit more fruitful in a few regards, sorry I haven't been able to update more frequently.
Lastly I'd like to pose two questions to friends and fans alike:
What would you like to see more of in terms of art from me?
What are some aspects of Vilous Lore that you'd like to read about in the future?

Writing
Posted 8 years agoWoah. What a year it's been so far.
My very first journal, eh.
To keep this short..
I've been inspired by quite a few friends, some new and old, to write stories about my characters and their lives in the world of Vilous.
I'll obviously start with Drago and work my way from there with side characters.
They might even feature other people!
In the meantime, if you'd like to read a short, work-in-progress character biography, you can find Drago's here.
