Another year coming to a close! (200 Watchers! :D)
General | Posted a month agoWell, another year is almost at its close, so I deem it necessary to write my once in a blue moon journal! ^^;
To start, I have been getting the hang of getting some new ideas for myself when it comes to drawing, I think i finally see improvement in myself that I'm happy with, but I'll not be satisfied until I'm at a level that has me feel accomplished! Still, I strive to get better, and I will continue to aim higher!
Second, work had nearly completely drained me of all motivation during the latter half of the year! It was a combination of multiple factors that resulted in a rather unsatisfying work life. The Service Manager was moved to another location, my GM was spotty on attendance (due to events that I honestly understand and would've preferred he stay home during it all) and I was left to run the shop by myself with BARELY any of the knowledge needed to run it properly. I got to experience what it's like to be a GM at a shop with poor attendance and an unmotivated work crew! It sucked :D
Atleast, however, they noticed the amount of hell they put me through during the past couple months and actually made up for it in some capacity. Not only was I able to take the entire Christmas week off fully paid, my bonus was upped from 10% of the store's pool to 25%...which was staggering. I was honestly on the idea that I wasn't able to buy any of my family gifts for Christmas, but with the large bonus, I was able to buy EVERYONE exactly what they wanted, which made me feel very happy! I do believe things happen for a reason, and I think the bonus was given to let me follow through with my gift giving! ^^
And, of course for last...
200 Followers was reached about a month or 2 ago...I honestly can't believe how many of you are actually interested in my art. I can't thank you all enough for the support and I'm really happy that you all see something more than just rough sketches of a madman obsessed with certain ideas ^^;
You're all insane and I love you all for it! I'll do my best to keep improving and hopefully continue to make you all happy!
That looks to be it! New Years is a jump, skip, and a hop away. With everything coming to a close soon, I'd like to say Merry Christmas, Happy New year, and I'll see you all in 2026! ^^

A...crazy last couple months
General | Posted 5 months agoWell, another journal! I should really start writing more of these if I'm being honest with myself. ^^;
To start, Yes, I've been profoundly busy the last few months. With summer coming to a close and my birthday passing a month ago, a lot has happened over the course of that time. In the beginning of August, right before I left for my vacation, which I barely get to begin with due to long hours at work and needing money to afford things, my car was attempted at being broken into. While unsuccessful, the thieves decided they'd get their frustrations out and smash every single one of my windows out and damage the sunroof...thanks, you love bunch of individuals. After contact through insurance, and fighting with them over the fact that they've proven their incompetency to order new parts in to fix my car, I ended up having to pay for 75% OF THE DAMN REPAIRS. So much for full coverage and the fact it was all on camera, ehh? ^^;
So, that was several thousand dollars to get everything repaired, and at the same time all that had to get repaired...my struts starting leaking. Cool! Total that with everything I had to order and pay for myself since my insurance said since I already paid for my deductible, I have to pay for everything out of pocket (as if that made any sense whatsoever..) I'm now out $6,500. :D
Thanks Geico, you useless gecko! I hope a bird eats you! So, after dealing with all of this before, during, and AFTER my vacation, I also had to help my sister with getting a new set of tires since she rode hers bald and blew them out on the side of the highway, which also destroyed a rim (Despite me telling her she's in desperate need of tires and that she was not driving safely.)
Then on top of ALL of that, I just found out a couple days ago that my Grandma had stage 4 cancer...and died...I really wish I was told the severity of it sooner...because I never got to say goodbye...I know the last time I spoke with her, it wasn't on the best of terms...but I didn't want her to die thinking that I hated her...I didn't...
So, now I'm waiting for a funeral date to attend, and hopefully I'm accepted there, and whilst I'm waiting I've been working 55+ hr weeks at work to make up for the loss of my savings from all the happenings. So...I've been taking comms. It's gotten to be a bigger list than I ever could've thought...^^;
I'm working with everyone the best I can to make it as good as I can for everyone who comms me. I know I don't have official pricing, but I appreciate everyone who's been requesting them from me and the price points we agree upon! It's been helping a lot more than you all think! I feel like I've finally been improving over the past few months and I'm hoping to get even better in the following.
Till then everyone, thank you for your continued support and interest in my art, it really does mean a lot to me and I hope that I continue to make you all happy with what I make. ^^

BlueSky
General | Posted 10 months agoWell, I figured it'd be time to branch out a bit in terms of where I post, and assuming from what I've been hearing from everyone, I've decided the first place to move to would be BlueSky!
I just got the account set up and I'll be posting a bit here and there on the site, showcasing my artwork over there and maybe even some sneak peaks of other things in the works! I hope to see you there, as well.. ^^

100 Watchers!!
General | Posted a year agoWell...100, huh...heh, funnily enough I don't think I'd ever reach 50, let alone 100 on my first year of posting!
Thanks so much to everyone who's shown interest in my art over the last year. It's been a rough effort, but I've been striving to try to get better everyday. With the new year coming to a close, I can say that I've thoroughly enjoyed the process up to this point, and I hope you all will enjoy the pieces I plan to make moving forward! ^^
You guys rock, and thank you once again!!

General update
General | Posted a year agoHello all! ^^
Man, it's been a while since the last journal update, hasn't it...Well, better now than never I suppose ^^;
To start, I've finally been getting used to the new software. A couple features still agitate me lightly, but for the most part I've been warming myself up to it. Now, with that aside, I do have a couple things about my art that I want to address...namely, the slowed down posting of them. I've been recently at odds ends with my job, and with a promotion coupled with a new boss (Whom I honestly don't like), I've been at work longer than normal, now that my hours have been increased from an average of 40hrs a week to roughly 50-55hrs a week. Usually, by the time I get home, I'm pretty exhausted and don't do much else other than take a shower, feed my pet, and relax in bed with the odd message here and there with my friend.
HOWEVER, that being said, I've never skimped out of drawing every day, but I've been breaking up my artwork in small bursts, taking it one part at a time as to not overload myself with extra work by the time I'm home. I love doing art, and I don't plan on stopping, but I have notably slowed down a bit to get used to everything.
And one last thing...commissions...I've been considering them the past month or so whether or not I should start them up, the only issue...is confidence. I personally think my art is not good enough to be sold to people, which is why i've been very apprehensive about the idea. Though a couple friends have assured me they would be interested in them...I'm still on the fence. Who knows, maybe I'll plan to open them soon (Considering my bills have gone up). But till then, I'll still just think about the option.
Well, that's it for now. Thanks to everyone who's shown interest in my art over the past few months, I really appreciate all the favs and watches, and I hope to continue making things that you can enjoy ^^

New start?
General | Posted 2 years agoHello all, back for another Journal...2 months later ^^;
Okay, to start I'll say this...my next pieces of art might be a little on the shoddy side.
I recently went through the long overdue task of upgrading my PC. My HDD's went kaplooey and my processor was failing to meet the demands of what I am looking for...So that and $1400 later...I got it all upgraded. Hello SSD ^^
Now there was a problem with this though...I used Corel Painter 2019 for all of my artwork, and what I got used to over the course of the past few months getting into drawing and art again. But with the new motherboard and SSD's...the transfer didnt quite go as I'd wanted. I lost access to my Art software, and contacting the company to let them know was met with a staunch "No" to get my software back. So...I did the only thing I could and bought the latest Corel Painter...$500 down the drain...^^;
So now I'm faced with the new task of learning the updated software...which i will say...has some quirks that I'll need to get used to and most importantly, need to memorize. So please, bear with me as I try to navigate through the new software as I move forward with it.
With that out of the way though, I am excited to see what new things I can achieve with it. Hopefully it'll all be for the better ^^
Take care everyone, I'll be back to posting hopefully here soon ^^

My Journey
General | Posted 2 years agoWell, let's begin as such.I haven't really considered the fact that any point in my life I would be making this kind of art. I've always lurked on this website for years on end, but never once in my life did I consider engaging like this.
It's been a slow burn to get used to, and I haven't really been doing it long. I've really only started getting more into it since November of 2023, where I promised myself to engage in some type of art activity every single day, no matter how big or small. My art is still rudimentary at best, but I'm hoping to improve as time goes on, and I guess this platform can help catalogue and document my progression...or regression XD
I hope what you see with time moving forward is good, and hopefully I'll meet some nice people along the way ^^.
