General | Posted 9 years agoFUCK MAN! I've not felt this good about my art in years! once I stopped fretting, trying to fit in and just went with what felt right I'm so pumped up for a big project!
I've got a big idea for my new avatar Joey... not a comic, I can never keep a consistency up for comic art but there was a certain series of hyperphalic artworks from back in the day (Danny's Alone Time) that what was responsible for quite a large spike in my watcher base back then.
And like Hollywood I'm gonna try repeat that success by treading over old ground and doing the same thing again.
I'm planning on doing a sort of short story to accompany a specific year in Joey's life starting at 18 and then jumping a few years at a time to check in on his progress.
unlike Danny's alone Time I'm going to have the entire thing finished BEFORE posting any of it so there's no eventual drift off and burn out... HOPEFULLY!
... oh and by the way, there'll never be a chapter 2 of Danny's alone time. IT'S DEAD. Danny's dead, Nikki's dead, Kai's dead, Andy's dead, they all died in a fire.

New Projects
General | Posted 10 years agookay, I am going to be starting work on a few things that I'm very excited about.
firstly, I've changed jobs now and I'm now a supervisor in a café, instead of slogging it at night time shifts at a gay bar.
secondly, expect to hear more news about my new band; Damage 69, in due time (I'll be under the stage name; Skot Damage).
things are coming along slower because our guitarists grandmother has sadly passed away and he needs time with his family.
next, with this down-time, me and fellow bandmate, Ed Havocc, are writing a fan comic set after the events of fairly famous
Marvel Comic's Series; Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, in where, now bored of his now, empty universe, finds a way to travel to the DC universe (or at least our own interpretation of a DC universe) where he goes to track down the character he's based off... Deathstroke, along the way running into the likes of the Suicide Squad, John Constantine (possibly the justice league dark), Batman and even the Joker.
next, a little comic I want to get going on my own, about a super-heroine named Amazonian (a 7 foot, 18 year old, muscular goth girl who can grow up to twice her own size in both height and musculature) and a reluctant anti-hero; Mister Fixit (a trench coat wearing, trigger happy, Masked Bounty Hunter). I don't want this to be a 'porn FMG comic', no mary-sue, wish fulfilment, sex crazed, muscle goddess. a genuine, fun super hero comic with good old, golden age, comic campiness, believable character arcs and humorous self-awareness. I want to have a female super-heroine that doesn't look like a fucking page 3 girl basically in Amazonian, and an anti-hero that's sort of Deathstroke, karl ruprecht kroenen and erron black all rolled into one in Mister Fixit.
that's about it for what I want to work on, I'm working on a teaser/test cover of 'Amazonian and Mister Fixit' (working title) to sort of show character designs, and also set the mood of the possible series :)

-I'm going to try remain semi-active on here.
-my patreon is going to receive a MASSIVE overhaul when I get the chance. no more rewards, just if you feel like it, drop in whatever you can.
-I'm going to draw what I want, when I want. no requests, no commissions. too much stress and anxiety came from an overwhelming fear of letting people down, and I can't cope with that anymore.
-my time is limited. between a new job bartending at a local gay bar, working on stuff with my new band; Your Funeral, working on 2 books (one written by myself, and another as a project with my girlfriend) and coursework for my sound engineering and music producing course (however, that means I may learn to produce my own solo tracks and release them to be listened to here). so uploads may be highly irregular or erratic.
-I also have a lot going on over the summer, going to download fest, comicon, half a dozen weddings/family events.
I want to keep drawing, and I'm SORT OF getting back into the swing of drawing the things I love, and I also want to be able to share that work.

this is very difficult to talk about so I ask that you be understanding.
I haven't been able to draw as of late, especially a lot of the sexual stuff I've been asked to draw. things have not been good, at all.
a few weeks ago, my girlfriend was sexually assaulted while away at uni by her flatmate's 'boyfriend'. my head has not been in the right place to draw ANYTHING sexual in the slightest, all I've wanted to do is keep her safe. it took some convincing to get her to go to the police and tell her mother, but she has and it's being investigated.
I honestly don't know if I can continue like this, things are hard at home. money problems keep on mounting and I'm just at my wits end. if I didn't have my girlfriend I'd have probably done something stupid by now, the only thing stopping me is knowing that she needs me now more than ever.
I hope you all understand this and I've loved my time on this site and as part of the fandom as a whole, but right now, drawing this kind of thing just feels toxic. it feels wrong to me now and I can't even explain why.
I'll see how things go over the next month or so but as of right now, consider both this page, my deviantART and my patreon all about ready to be closed.
I'll miss everyone and I hope the few people I also have on facebook will please keep this to themselves and never speak of it there to me, and act as if I never said this.

money problems and delays

I've had alot of shit to deal with the last week. sorting money out so I'm not starving, dealing with bureaucratic, government bullshit and multiple doctor's visits for counselling, physiotherapy, cancer after care, dermatology appointments, STD check and pretty much every check you can think of T^T

I already had a thing for female bodybuilders... and scouring the internet I cam across a Character called 'Tetsuko', it was from there I followed some stuff back to the tetsuko origin comic by David C. Matthews and fell in love with muscle growth and everything just spread out from there.
so what were you guys' first experiences with muscle fetish art? I'd love a fun discussion :)

I'm not charging for these requests, this is a challenge to myself, as well as a way to create a bit of publicity for my patreon campaign. General | Posted 11 years agoso let's face it, most artists that use patreon are of a much higher caliber in terms of skill, they're amazing artists who've had probably alot better tutelage and more time to perfect their craft. so I have to think of what exactly I could offer to warrant a patreon subscription.
I hate it myself when artwork is fenced off behind it, so obviously I wouldn't be doing that. I post my artwork here and that's the end of it, all my artwork comes here. so perhaps simply offering, I suppose, constant free requests to patreon funders could be an incentive, or perhaps requests from patreon subscribers (or whatever they're called) take top priority? but requests would continue regardless? maybe even just an increased output of artwork in general?
And it's not as if artwork is the only thing I do, there's my youtube review show; the insomniac coffee cheapskate game review, which with regular funding could be advanced and improved since I would have time to. and some of the time could go towards getting my game project off the ground which so far has remained stuck in dev hell with only myself as lead artist/writer/creative director, and 2 of my friends with one as web designer/level designer/promotional advisor and the other as programmer (no copy/pasted unity bullshit either!).
so let me know if this would be enough to warrant one, or if you have any other suggestions that I could implement to make one more viable.

I honestly don't even know where to begin it's been that long. to those who still remember me I guess I have explaining to do.
no other way to put it, I fell on bad times and I'll explain all in due time. but first I ask that anyone who I owe artwork to reminds me on this journal, and anyone who never got a completed commission from me will get their artwork and a refund for this.
My name is Conor, Lyca to most on here though.
as some of you might remember, last time I was on here I was never in a good emotional state, and things got worse and worse.
me and my ex-boyfriend broke up after alot going wrong, I lost where I was living and had to move in with my dad and step mother. I've never told anyone this but at a young age, I had cancer and beat it, but around this time it returned (probably brought on by my excessive smoking). depression hit, shitty circumstance after shitty circumstance. I couldn't bring myself to even pick up a pencil to draw ANYTHING (I haven't even drawn more than a 5 minute doodle in a long time).
I wanted to, but couldn't bring myself to do it. there didn't seem like much of a point. a string of short lived relationships with arseholes only soured my already fragile emotional state (not a good idea putting myself through them in hindsight). got a great job and ended up getting laid off due to lack of hours to go round.
but things are looking up, I've met a girl, we've been dating for 7 months and I can't even picture my life without her now. I'm so in love.
I want to make it clear, I've beaten my cancer again and I'm fine :) and trying to hold a positive stance for the future, I want to make things up to people and start from where I left off. the one good thing I can take from losing my job is that I have plenty of time for me and what I want to do right now is draw. EDIT 2: I've just checked my messages and noticed my dissappearance seemed to worry a few of you, I can only apologise for any worry I've caused and should've explained I'd be taking a leave of absence from FA before hand.
EDIT 3 (Last edit I swear): FA will also be the only furry site I will be posting to now (no more inkbunny and SoFurry) can't be arsed posting to multiple sites (none furry art will be posted over on DA just like old times, and MAY make it's way onto here should I see fit X3). also, I've had the idea for a while now to draw Lyca in the opposite sex, so don't be surprised by a pic of him sporting tits, even wider hips and a distinct lack of his 'package' in the near future, don't worry, it's not an ACTUAL re-design/permenant gender re-assignment. just something I wanna play around with XD
