Life With A Werewolf is updated
General | Posted 2 weeks agoThe new update is here:
https://www.writing.com/main/books/.....Werewolfs-Cold
A lighthearted one. I've been down for about a week and a half now with an illness. Probably the new COVID strain going around or something. Either way, you can guess the inspiration for this one. Well, part of it anyway.
Hope you enjoy.

A couple things...
General | Posted a month agoWorking on the Finale for "Unwelcomed Neighbors" now. That plot arch in "Life With A Werewolf" will be posted, probably monday or so next week. Afterwards, there's going to be a few fluff pieces while I work on the final piece, an arch I'm tentatively titling "Coda".
Once that's done, I'll move the stories to here slowly while getting the stories recorded and put on Audible as well as compiled on Kindle if you prefer that. I'll also be able to work on other shorts and things, as well as my next episodic story thing. Still piecing that one together, really.
So, yeah. That's what I've been up to lately. This is mainly to tell everyone that the next post will be delayed a day or three, and that the final is coming soon.

About my werewolf story...
General | Posted a month agoWow, this thing has been running for several years now.
That was always the intention, though. To have a cool little werewolf thing anyone could read on the side. That whenever (if ever) my books became really popular there would be this thing for people to discover. I originally was going to do slice of life stories. A literal blog of someone living with a werewolf. The adventures were supposed to be individual one-off things sprinkled in on occasion. No one demanded more adventures, I just grew addicted to writing them.
Times have changed, I suppose. I have more than 3 years of this blog up (4 in November) and I'm starting to get a little exhaustion with it.
There are two roads ahead of me on this: I could discontinue it completely, cap it off and call it a day. Or, I could start building the adventures into bigger adventures and just release larger books involving my strange werewolf pack. Something that would be fun to pick up and listen to or read, but nothing that would be a weekly episodic release as it has been for these past several years.
I'm torn as to the avenue to take in this.
Continuing the blog as normal isn't really an option. It's just me kicking a can down the road about a decision that needs to be made. It's not quite a wall-banger yet, but it's swinging wildly enough to get to that point. And there are points where the updates are getting in the way of other things that I do in my life, work on my current novel, The Hunters comes to mind.
If anyone has a different idea, I'm willing to listen. As of now, I'm torn with what to do with it. End it completely, just make them books already, or quit telling stories and start giving slice of life blog posts that could be funny but would more than likely just be weird. Who knows?
Thanks everyone.

I'm considering a cameo in the current LWAW plot arc
General | Posted 2 months agoWhat I'm considering is this:
Jason, in a desperate attempt to handle things, contacts an old friend from his military days. Finds out that friend is a mythical.
If anyone wants their character to be that mythical, note me. We'll discuss.
This would be a one off event and I currently have no plans in using said character in the future.
So, like I said, if you'd like your character to be that guy/gal, note me. Thanks!

My writing routine seems to be getting back on track. I'm attributing burnout, as well as changes in my nutrition and just general life stuff getting in the way. Seems to be getting back on track now, though.

Writing Interrupted
General | Posted 3 months agoHere's where I've been the past several weeks, lol.
My writing for these past couple of weeks has dried up to a trickle. I post a weird post on Substack the other day that any other time I’d have probably just deleted. But, I guess it’s at least something out there.
I have chronic back pain. Over the holidays, I allowed myself to gain about 5 pounds. Those five pounds have exacerbated my back, to the point where most days trying to create the simplest of things is a literal fight. It’s fun to create when everything is working. But my brain at this point is fighting through a fog of pain, not excruciating pain or anything mind you, but just enough where concentrating is a chore.
I’ll go to the chiropractor as soon as I’m able. I got more pads for my TENS unit on the way. Hopefully that’ll get things fixed soon and I’m able to concentrate more and get things actually written.
I promise I haven't given up. My goal is still to be more interactive on here, to post more stories on my writing.com profile, and to get my manuscript out to agents by March the absolute latest. But right now, it's just hard to concentrate.

General | Posted 4 months agoDo you appreciate emotional ques in stories? Scene descriptions and adjectives that use language to help deliver a bigger emotional gut punch?
Far too often I'm seeing books and stories without any of that language present. So I'm having a "am I so out of touch?" moment.
