Discord is a good way to keep in contact with a lot of people and a good way to get into a lot of communities as a lot of fandoms and artist have one nowadays. At one point I even contemplated putting up a server for it to work as a portal to my earlier webcomic-related ventures, thinking for it to take over from the old php-forum and gather it all in one place.

But, I've had to come to the realization that I simply cannot keep up with the servers I have already signed up for, and daily I come across new ones that sounds interesting, just for me to remember that I cant keep up with the 5-6 I am already connected to. Yeah, for some it probably does not sound many, but for me, it is.

Problem is that each usually branch out into 10-20 sub forums and whereas not all would be interesting to me, a good deal would be, and with a large membership, new posts sometimes come in as a flood which can be tricky to navigate when you just want to catch up.

This means that I usually leave most servers untouched and unread unless a message is specifially dedicated to me, then I'll stop by, and even then it can be tricky to pick it out.

So, I've made the decision to limit myself on discord to direct talks directly with specific people, or smaller discussion groups, no more adding of servers, and I'll have to evaluate the ones I am already on, but staying there for now.

Its not you, its me, and if you were already wondering why I am not so active around servers I am already on, thats your answer :)

My own holidays went nice and quietly, mostly with family, and now I got the days off between Christmas and New Years Eve to hopefully get even more rest and perhaps even get some closure of various projects of my own, both on this site and beyond

As the cold strengthens its grip on most of the world, do remember that the best way to keep warm is to snuggle up close and personal to a big a big warm bear! 😀

Also, most bears, at least around here, are social by nature, so they are very easy to convince signing up as your heating buddy if you ask nicely! 😁

I wish I could join, but my writing time is so fleeting that I dont need the added pressure and stress of trying to keep up with something I'm more or less sure I cannot complete myself, I'll rather concentrate on writing what I currently have at hand when I find the time.

Has it already been a year?

Yep, I checked, this month its been a year since I entered the community in earnest and started getting all the stuff that had so far been bricked up on my brain out in art and writing.

A year ago the Allround Bear Hogan (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49447868/) got "fleshed out", and since then a lot of things have been happening to me both art- and storywise, good things!

The best part of it all has been the friends I have made made along the way, and even more so those of them whom I've gotten to work on stories and art with over the year that went.

Its been greate working together with all of them, but already now I can see that the year to come will bring even more team-ups with even more friends, and thats in addition to what else I am working on

For once I expect to finish a larger story, hopefully this year, which will finally add more OC-characters to my rooster, not to mention I got lots of artwork commissions written up which will, hopefully, come to life throughout the year.

Its been a great year, here's to many more! :)

So, the progress on my current ongoing, and totally new, story is coming slowly but steadily and first, for me, after I returned to writing, I'm finally able to create and add a host of new characters, fleshing them out as the story progresses.

Its really been nice to touch that creative part again, and I'm looking forward to get to play with them some more, hopefully getting arts done along the way, though odds are I will finish and upload the story before that happens, event though its months into the future :D

Writing is great, designing a setting is great, and creating new characters to fill it even better!

I for sure wish FA would allow for some larger topimages for story-submissions AND make it so you can upload thumbnail and image for stories later without getting a 50x50 thumbnail served...

Getting back to creative writing again last year after being away from it for 10+ years has been some of the best thats happened to me, allowing me to rediscover the joy of coming up with stories as well as giving me a creative outlet I'm been lacking!
Since then the stories I want to tell just seem to line up and I've been slowly delving into new areas of subjects to test my meddle there, for good or bad

My writing has been slowing down over the last couple of months, I find my self with too much around my head, especially workwise, to sit down, even for a short time and enter the propler state of calm and quietness I need to get the words flowing.

I still got most of my, current, main story written out in the back of my head, and I keep fighting off ideas for more short stories, but I'm still lacking the time to get them all down on paper... figuratively speaking.

I'll get back to them eventually, some stories just want to be told, no matter what!

Time to look back and see what the year that went brought has brought artwise.

2022 became the year that I first started using this account for real. I've had it since 2014 so I was able to watch adult art occasionally linked to me by friends, now I've started uploading, faving and following.

2022 also became the year where I started writing again, something I've not done in the last 10+ years due to time-restrains and, apparently, lack of motivation. This year friends (you know who you are!) helped me to get my groove back and, even though I'm time restricted by lack of free time, its been one of the best things happening to me this year. Its not major works, but something I've been enjoying doing.

2022 also was the year where I started commissioning, only been doing so on rare occasions (if counted on one hand I believe I would still have fingers left) over the last good many years, but the comeback to writing brought so many mental images and stories to mind, some (if not most) of them I really wanted to see drawn up. Expect more to come in the future.

So, here on the last hours (I can already hear them preparing the celebration on the other side of the planet) of the year of 2022, I would like to send my thanks and good wishes to the many friends here and around this platform, both old and new, that have kept me company over the year, them having played, talked, joked, RP'ed and inspired me.
