This journal entry is a list of the terms that you must accept, before requesting a free story commission.

For the purposes of these terms, "you" are referred to as "the commissioner", and the commissioned writer is referred to as "Logan".

Please remember that the story commission is free, so you're getting a free commission.
In return, the following terms aren't unreasonable; just detailed to prevent later problems.

About Cover Images

For Logan to take on a free commission, the commissioner MUST provide an image that Logan can use for the story cover image. You can see examples of these images in Logan's gallery:

Logan can edit the image to suit the format, however, it must be a reasonably high quality illustration to begin.

You must have the necessary usage rights to allow for the image to be used in this way. Logan will link to the artist when the story is posted, if necessary as part of their terms.

The commissioner's cover image will no longer be used in a "filed off" situation (see below), however, Logan may commission a new image which may be somewhat similar (just without uniquely recognisable elements).

Your usage terms for the created stories

All stories that are created as part of free commissions are intended for the commissioner's personal enjoyment, and that of their followers and Logan's followers.

The commissioner may post their commissioned story to their gallery. They can use them as they wish in other locations online, however, they may not use them for any venture that brings in revenue (they can't sell them or use them to earn money). They also can't edit them for sale, e.g. they can't swap out the character names and claim this is not the original work.

They must also credit Logan anywhere you post/use the story, with a link back to FA or similar, clearly stating that Logan Greypaw is the writer.

The commissioner does not have the right to insist that story is removed/deleted from Logan's gallery or similar places. However, you may still request this, and Logan will consider it if it won't cause disruption. In this case, Logan would replace the story with a "filed off" version (see below).

Logan's usage terms for the created stories

Logan will post the stories to his gallery and potentially other places online, and will link to the commissioner where appropriate.

"Filing off" (VERY IMPORTANT)

Logan reserves the right to "file off" the story for his own future use. In this case, he would create another version of the story where he swaps out the character's names and any unique, identifying features in the text. Additionally, Logan would use a different cover image, of a similar design, that removes identifying elements. This would result in a new version of the story that has no connection to the commissioner, and can be used by Logan as-he-sees-fit.

You consent that Logan could then use this new "filed off" version of the text for any purpose, e.g., collected into an anthology volume and sold for financial gain.

Final Notes

Please be sure you read these terms in full; they will be sent to every commissioner, and by requesting a free commission, you're agreeing to them.

Here's a question - are there any fetishes, among those you commonly see on FA and other places, that you just don't "get"?

I want to be extremely clear - this is not an opportunity to suggest which fetishes squick you out, or that you find problematic. I think we all have our kinks, and complaining at other people about theirs in a place like FurAffinity isn't just "pot calling kettle black" so much as "the pot, itself black, in a black-painted room, consisting solely of black objects, black walls, floor and ceiling, in a black-painted house in the centre of a black-painted neighbourhood during a solar eclipse".

Still, I'm curious if there are any fetishes you don't so much dislike; rather you don't really understand them.

For instance, I don't really like vore all that much. However, I kinda get it. In a sense, vore can be an extreme dom/sub thing (to the point where being able to eat prey suggests total dominance over it) and it's a very primal thing. It makes sense. I do, however, like lactation, and I don't think everyone gets that (in my case, I can pinpoint it to an exact moment in my life... But that's a story for another day).

On the other hand, I don't really get nappy/diaper play. I don't hate it, it doesn't disgust me or anything; I just don't really get it. Like, sometimes it comes in part with themes of "infantilisation" and while that isn't my thing, I can understand it to a degree; but often it's not related to that at all. Then again, I also don't find anything sexual in scat, and while the two don't always go together, there's certainly a decent overlap in that Venn diagram, so maybe that's why.

Are there any fetishes or kinks that you just don't get?

I come to you all today with some good news and some bad news (with a little bit of good news).

I'll start with the good news.

This week, I've had some stuff happen in my personal life - there has been a change of circumstances with my day job; I'm going to receive a promotion in the winter, which I need to prepare for immediately (long story that I won't bore you guys with).

The bad news is that this also means I'll be spending more time at work, and that cuts into the time I can dedicate to hobbies like my Patreon.

The sort-of-good news which comes out of this is that I won't be stopping writing stories; I enjoy that far too much. However, it means that I can't, in good faith, run my higher patron tiers that promise a weekly story cadence, as I'm unable to promise that I will definitely post a story a week.

In the future, once things have calmed down, and perhaps if there is more demand for my work as more people notice it, I may open commissions and patron-only stories on a consistent cadence, but I don't have a timetable for that, and I would urge you guys not to wait.

I'll keep the 1$ tier open, in case anyone wishes to patronise as a form of leaving a "tip" for the stories on FA and SF.

Is that all clear? I'm going to try and finish **A Country Coyote** soon for you guys as a matter of priority.

Hi all,

Just wanted to clarify what's going on with "Riding" Hood and Country Coyote.

There's no new "Riding" Hood this week; just part 8 going up on FA and SF, which went out to my patrons a week ago.

However, patrons this week are getting part 1 of my new story, A Country Coyote, and SoFurry/FurAffinity watchers will get that next week.

"Riding" Hood will be completed - I'm going to go back to it next week and probably the week after to wrap it up. After that, it'll be A Country Coyote for however many weeks that takes.

I dunno what it is, but I'm feeling it now.

Earlier today I had The Lion King II playing, because I had to fix up my apartment as it had become a serious mess and I wanted something to listen to that was pleasant but wouldn't distract me from what I was doing.

I wrapped up one of the biggest jobs and sat down for ten minutes and watched a bit of it, and felt something I haven't felt in quite a few years.

The Lion King came out in 1994, so I was still a kid when I watched it at the cinema. It wasn't the first Disney film I ever saw on the big screen, but even so, it had a real effect on me. I watched a great deal of material in the few years after about the production of the movie, eventually getting the VHS and probably watching it enough times over the following 5 years to wear it out.

I wasn't obsessive about it as such; I mean I watched many movies and a great deal of animation when I was a kid, along with reading books like Redwall.

I was still young enough also for the characters from those media to be part of my imaginary make-believe games; I'd go on adventures with Simba, fighting Hyenas and saving the Pridelands. This was before I got older and dealt with that over-active imagination by learning to write down the stuff I imagined, which is more socially acceptable for reasons.

Something was different about this kind of media. I don't even think I can easily describe what it was, but I'll try.

Did anyone else always get a feeling of sadness and melancholy after watching one of those sorts of movies, despite loving the movie while watching it? Not just a climbdown from the emotional high of being engaged with the movie; I mean something else - a kind of sinking, core feeling. It feels like a weird mix of longing, nostalgia and discontentment; like homesickness for somewhere that was never your home.

The movie which used to do this to be the absolute most as a kid was Balto, but The Lion King used to do it too.

As a kid I always assumed this was a hormonal thing. Puberty hit me like a truck, younger than most people, and I had the whole "talk" about how I would feel strong emotions, as real as any emotion, and that they would be confusing, sudden, and not always easy to explain - and that it was due to puberty hormones.

Despite that, this feeling didn't really go away, but it became less frequent, because I don't watch anthro and Disney-style animation all that much these days. I still love animation, but despite how I absolutely adore Cowboy Bebop, it doesn't yield this feeling.

But I felt it today, after watching The Lion King II, of all things, and now I'm feeling pretty low.

Kinda feel like I'm screaming out into the void here, but maybe it'll help. Does anyone else understand this? Or is this just me?

After a bit of work, I've managed to finish the plan on the story series that will start soon, briefly overlapping with Judy Needs It.
It's something I've always wanted to do, and many furry creators have tried their hand at. My version is going to be a bit darker, but I hope you guys will love it!
