So, I'm coming back here because a lot of my business seems to come from this community even though I don't spend much time here. (strange, isn't it?)

I know I kind of....dissapeared last time I was here, so in order to make it up to the people who already asked me for requests, I'll finish those off for you first.

So my teacher wanted to take a look at my work, and all I had on my storage was my newest work, which was all my requests, some sketches for the requests, and my work for my lover.

He looked at me and said "You know NONE of your work here can be used for portfolio, because people are going to think you're a furry, and you'll be laughed out of the portfolio room."

I just kinda blushed and muttered something about requests, then looked away. Found out soon after, furry art is looked down upon even more so than anime and dragons, and I'd only recently gotten into the "style".

After berating myself, I made a decision, I want to do animation and be successful more than anything. After I finish these requests, I'll only do this stuff in my spare time (if I have any) or if I happen to draw a character that is anthromorphic but not considered "furry" by my teachers. This teacher is the first one to have said anything to me about this....

But then again, he's the only one I have that is a current working animator, and not retired.

Despite being sicker than a horse and missing a week of school and 2 days of work, things are finally looking up.

The school had their "Winter Networking Social" which is supposed to be a time to get together, learn some things about the people around you and join a club or two.....in reality it was a bunch of college kids showing up under the promise of free food and a chance to win a netbook. I was part of the latter (I wanted that netbook...oh well. I was 1 number off on the raffle).

Anyways, I get there and remember that I promised Mr. Liles, who not only teaches two of my classes but sponsors for the Unreal Club that I'm in, that I would show up to help represent the Unreal club. I had asked him earlier that week if I could possibly help lead the club, so I looked around for him when I got there.

Not only was he not there, but our club's place almost got thrown out because no one showed up. This was bad because the club (while awesome) did not have school funding and wasn't recognized as an official sponsored "club" yet. I rescued our place, and despite not having fliers or posters, or even a chair to sit on, I squeezed into the corner and gave an on-the-spot presentation of the club via microphone. (Did I mention I have a phobia of public speaking?) I managed to snag us a few more members and a few interested passerbys.

(I also represented the Animation Club, which I am a member of, but I didn't give a speech about it. Why do clubs I join not show up to these things?....)

Not only that, but the guy that is in charge of clubs at the school came over to talk to me about the club. Thinking I was the president, he told me I needed to come in to fill out some paperwork and (get this) we would become an official club with FUNDING.

Surprised, I told him that I wasn't the club president, and I explained the situation and that since I was the only one that showed up I took charge so that we could get more members, he just smiled and told me that that is exactly what club presidents do, and that I had just gotten myself the title. He told me to come in tomorrow and see him in his office to make everything official.

So now...I somehow ended up President of the Unreal club....got it to be a real club....and got it school funding....and (supposedly) doubled it's student count in one night....Just by showing up hoping to get a Netbook and pizza. GO ME :D

So what is the Unreal Club and what is the Unreal Engine?

The Unreal club is a club that teaches students to use the Unreal Development Kit (also known as the Unreal Engine) to make video games in conjunction with 3Ds Max and Maya. We also touch base on the Unity Engine. Both engines are free to download (though your computer better be fairly decent if you want to open them, my laptop can run Unity but not UDK). We take in kids from all majors (I even had a culinary student interested!) And no skill level is required to learn.

If you aren't sure what the Unreal Engine is, look it up online. A lot of professional 3D video games use the engine, including Bioshock 1 and 2, Gears of War, and Mass Effect, among others.

So yeah, I'm excited. That and whatever I had that made me sick is finally calming down. Even though I went to the Social I'm feeling fine, my nose stopped running and I'm not coughing anymore. Hopefully I'll be able to work on Satuday and I'm going to go in to fill out that paperwork tomorrow at school. :3

Found out what it is I have and its kinda gross....

From what I've been told, I guess I got swine flu. I was sporting flu-like symptoms but with heavy respiratory issues (ie: I couldn't breathe worth a damn, felt like my lungs had filled up with wet tennis balls, etc.)

And here I was told that people were just being stupid and that swine flu was milder than most normal flus....fuck that was the worst flu I've ever gotten. Didn't even feel like a flu, felt like pneumonia with 10 hangovers thrown on top.

I'm feeling better today, thank God it didn't last long. I just have some sniffling and some minor throat pains, and a small cough, but nothing like what I did have...jeez...

Man....This really hit me hard in just a couple days. Its hard to breathe and I'm coughing/thowing up every few minutes. I hope it all clears up by Thursday (I don't want to have to go to work when I can barely breathe.)

Sorry for the requests that I've taken. The room is constantly spinning and I keep getting coughing fits (resulting in headaches) this might add some time till I can get them completed. (I've tried drawing a bit, but I keep making really stupid mistakes and can't concentrate).

This is really gonna suck for schoolwork... I hope I don't miss my maya class tomorrow...I don't know that program well enough to miss a class. :C

Wow I got a lot of requests xD I was so surprised. I put myself up on DA for requests all the time and never get any responses....

Anyways, to keep myself organized (and so I don't overbook myself) I'm gonna put up a list of requests I still have to do (people who have already talked to me.)

I havn't been on FA for very long...I'm used to Deviantart lol...

Anyways, I figured I'd give a little intro about myself just so I have a journal to post and don't seem too aloof. I'm actually quite friendly and love to talk/roleplay with people. :)

I'll be 19 in a couple months. I'm currently attending college, on my way to get a bachelors of fine arts in animation. I'm only in my 3rd quarter, so I still have much to learn, but I'm getting there, and I've seen vast improvements since joining. By the time I graduate, I hope to be really good :3.

As for my furry-self....I'm a fox. My fursona is Vix (I have several pics of him in my gallery) but I'm still working on his appearance....he started off as a normal fox and I've been trying to anthro-morphize him, but I'm not having a whole lot of success. My lover is a black dragon. (Which is why you will see a lot of pics of Ryu and Vix around lol).

Oh um, lets see, as far as art goes, I'll do requests for things that aren't too complicated (ie: character sketches, animal sketches, etc) but anything more complicated you have to pay me for. I'm a college student going to an art school...I'm broke. ;)

If you want me to do something I'm open to negotiation (did I mention I'm friendly?) so go right ahead and talk to me :D
