On the brighter side of things...
General | Posted 15 years agoAlthough im stuck with a job that pays bad, and practically gives me nothing while the government takes 20% of my paycheck there are good things happening. Atleast I have a job right now, they are incredibly hard to find right now since they have like 100 applicants, it is kind hard to compete with.
Also, searching for jobs online is a really BAD idea. Giving away your personal information so scam artists can find you, such as those employment agencies promising to find you a job. I fell for one of those once, I actually thought they had a decent job for me. I drove like 30 miles down for an appointment. When I got there, I realized it was one of those employment offices where you have to pay them to look for you. The Receptionist asked me to pay them 90 US dollers before the appointment. I said to her "You guys called me down here, I didn't call you. Also, I think what your doing here is pure exploitation of other peoples misfortunes. This office is nothing but a scam, and your just taking money from people and going to do nothing they can't do themselves. " After this little speech, I walked out of the office. The cool thing was though, a few others waiting there got angry when I brought this to their attention and walked out with me.
Anyway, Online job searchs are mostly Fraud. Monster.com, career builder, and all those other places are just trying to market you, they don't give a shit if you get a job or not. These people are vultures, preying on what little money you have left for false hope, they make me sick.
On the brighter side of things, atleast I still have that crappy job. I might as well buckle in and ride it out until things get better. Oh, and I also lost like 50 lbs within the last six months, I feel a whole lot better and maybe I can get my highschool physique back by the end of this year. :3

Etoile Galaxy is back!
General | Posted 15 years agoOoooh yeah, the furry sci-fi goodness is coming back with a vegence.
We kinda went down after I could no longer afford payments on the sim. However, we found a nice fella by the name of Malic who gladly allowed us to use his sim. He builds full-sized star trek ships and they are incredible. He dosen't use the sim for much else, but it runs great.
Currently we are running SFC 2.5, which was developed when we were a Starfox Sim on Second Life. The new RP is still very much star-fox themed, and the SFC combat is very much like a star fox game where you shoot, fire special weapons, boost and barrel roll out of harms way. When our AI 3.0 is complete, we will see some new NPC enemies appearing in our space levels to attack you. You will also have the option to fight for good or evil, depending on what your ship is set to (either FRIENDLY or EVIL). This also means that NPCs can now attack objects of interest or even attack themselves, creating massive meet battles for you to get involved in.
We are currently in the golden age of piracy, directly following the great Ra-Shi war and the Black Paw racial propaganda. The destruction and choas has left space very un-secure, allowing many privateers to make a profit by preying on trade ships. However, now that the conflicts are over the Alliance and other military factions are beginning to step up on security. Will you be ready to tackle the new challenges we have in store for players?
