Submission Slow-mo mofo
Posted 15 years agoSo my submissions are beginning to trickle to a near stand-still.
Maybe you've noticed, maybe you haven't, but I'm going to say something about it.
It would seem that I'm succumbing to the desires of being a lazy-ass couch potatoe. Gotta catch up on a few games and watch a few movies I've had laying around forever, then I should be back in the full-swing of drawage.
So yeah, not gone, just preoccupied. I still love you guys. ^_^

Posted 16 years agoOctober
Posted 16 years agoAllow me to be a whore for a moment because there is no other way to describe it: October 23rd is my bday.
Now that that's outta the way I can just type whatever comes to mind. I have been playing way too much WoW lately. Though I think on my own terms I've finished a lot of art. 1 per week haha.
I can't really say 'I'm not doing as much as I want to do' because I'm not really feeling artsy lately. I've thought about taking commissions again, if even just sketches, for fun mostly. Then again, like I said in the last journal I'm looking to do an overhaul of the way I go about doing art.
Of little relevance to you, but I want to get it off my chest, work this week blew goats. No, not in the good way FA, we're not talking about anthropomorphic goats. We where supposed to have a new hire, or as they call her 'a part timer', to cover for one of our full-time employees. Needless to say, the young woman did not show up at any point this week, making a bad impression on management (AKA: ME).
In either case I've been feeling restless lately.
I'm happy that the hockey season has started again, unfortunately our closest NHL team is the Canucks, and I think I'd have to travel some 120 or so miles just to see it in person. Luckily we have the next best thing, the WHL :).
Ugh, disjointed and incomplete journal, but I have to leave for work, ta ta.

1: Which picture of yours has the most views?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/820409/ 2085 - I'm a goddamned rockstar :)
2: Which picture of yours has the highest +favorite to view percentage?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2342049/ - I can't believe it, I hvae no idea why this one was liked so much.
3: Which picture of yours is your personal favorite, and why?
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2872754/ - I like this picture because recently I've been pissed off at art. I haven't done anything with nice linework in months, I just kind of belch color onto stuff cause I like coloring but am way too artist emo to care. I know - this is news to you I'm sure, learn from me FA, everytime you hate your art you don't have to make a journal about it lol :). I'm teasing. Anyway, I remember in photography class that pictures tilted slightly to the side are nicer to look at, and in this picture and my most recent one I"m trying to iron out a way to start getting my proportions correct and conceive a way to be more consistent with the way I form faces.
4: Are there any pictures that you are NOT particularly proud of? And if so, why?
Lots of them but I'll just pick from stuff that I'm looking at now so I don't have to try so hard.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2024809/ - feodora is supposed to be hot but she just looks goofy - and sitting next to Orva who does look hot, just ruins the whole picture for me.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1333529/ - lintu just looks bad in this picture, what was I thinking?
5: What aspect of your art would you like to improve, and why?
I would like to improve the settings and forms of my art to be more natural. Less blocky and stiff looking characters. I've even thought about revamping some of the old ones to make them more appealing. With the recent raccoon warrior I"m trying to get away from one color characters, even though I did that because they where a pain in the ass to color in oekaki. I haven't oekaki'd in forever so it's a moot point now.
6: What do you HATE seeing in art? In terms of technical skill, not subject matter.
This question is not right. The correct question is 'what do you hate about art'?. I hate seeing critics in art. Is there any lower life-form when it comes to art? I mean really, I can't draw but I have an opinion about this piece of shit, and now I"m going to tear it apart piece by piece because I took one design class in college and that qualifies as 'lifelong experience with art'.
Give me a break motherfuckers. :)
7: Tag another artist! You have to, because this is an artist-related meme.

Inglourious Basterds
Posted 16 years agoHow many times in your life have you went through a movie and thought 'yup the great part is coming, yup the great part is coming, yup the great part is coming, I'm sure it'll get here soon, any minute now...any minute now' ?
How many times after said movie got over and the instant you saw the first name of the cast and crew you leaned to your partner and said 'wow that movie sucked' ?
Well that's Inglourious Basterds. A completely brain-dead movie, bereft of storyline and action. The movie crawls to a stand still after about 3 minutes, and then expands into multiple different directions, trying to decide if it is an action movie, a serious drama, or some kind of B-rated frollick into the light-gore forest.
I don't know how it's getting good reviews at rottentomatoes.com , and I don't understand the 2 people who decided it was good enough to applaud toward the end.
Hell the guy 2 seats down from me was saying 'brilliant'. A chill went shrieking down my spine, he's right, this is going to be a classic. It's boring, artistic, and full of itself. The art direction and filming is great. What makes a movie good though? It's story right? You won't find a good one in this movie.
I do believe I'm going to try to see Miyazaki's newest (over here at least) "Ponyo" this week'.
Rent inglourious basterds. It wasn't worth the $10 dollars or the 2 1/2 hours.

I got to do something hard
Posted 16 years agoI turn 29 in 2 months. God I'm getting old.
About a decade ago I met a girl that I fell for pretty hard. Keeping a long story short I always wanted to date her, she let me feel her up, and we did shit together, but she'd always date my guy friends and not tell me about it, even when asked point-blank.
What can I say? I was naive and blind. I stopped talking to her after a while.
Fast forward about 4 years and I got into contact with her again. She claimed she had changed and my heart very gently, almost inaudibly gave a hopeful pump. We went out once or twice over the past year, but she was making excuses not to hang out and stuff, and was always busy, but found time to hang out with her friends and be around her ex-boyfriend, all the while telling me that she was very interested over Myspace (which is sad, she lives 5 minutes away from me but I could never get her to go out).
So the hard thing was simply that I'm cutting her out of my life. I mentioned I'm almost 29 because this all just seems so silly at my age. I'm a very honest person for the most part. I often feel that people should just tell the truth instead of hurting other peoples feelings. Y'know, like, slap them in the face before they get too into it.
Anyway, my feelings aren't too badly hurt over this, I've been kind of mentally preparing myself for the final 'fuck you and farewell' thing, and she is on par for the typical reaction. The reaction that gets me to stay on her leash as the guy that makes her feel good about herself so she can go slum around with some other idiots. She's already seemingly hurt that I'm not gonna go see her this weekend, and I'm ignoring all her dumbass messages that she's trying to bait me back with.
TMI FA? Awright, back to drawing things.

A trip, how grande
Posted 16 years agoWell yesterday my brother unexpectedly hit me with 'hey I'm thinking about going to the Seattle Art Museum tommorrow'. I was like 'REALLY!? Man if you do that I'm so taking a vacation day from work'.
Well I took the vacation day so I have tonight off, we actually just got back from our excursion to the art museum. I don't know about art - I've really kind of lost the respect for it, it's so paper-thin on how one piece is more meaningful than the next. I had a great time though :D.
I didn't find anything interesting at the gift shop :( but I did find a cover that sparked my interest http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images.....NL._SS500_.jpg . God I guess I'm weird (present company accepted) but I found this very hot XD.
I also found a new artist to kind of admire and learn from, her name is Lisa Yuskavage http://grammarpolice.net/images/yuskavage.jpg and she did this awesome picture called 'big blonde on the weeds' as well. completely beautiful and one of my favorite pieces from the whole ordeal.
After we hit the art Museum we where about to leave and I saw something across the street, The pike brewing co. WTF I had looked them up online after trying some of their 'kilt lifter', a rather delicious ruby ale, and saw that their place was somewhere in Seattle, but I never thought I'd see it XD. http://www.pikebrewing.com/ Anyway it was hella cool, I got a 2 liter german bottle and filled it up with some of their Pike Tandom double ale. Total score, delicious beer, awesome bottle, great memories XD cause everybody else was too chicken-shit to go down into the bar area to browse their wares.
I hope to be down in seattle again soon, It's an interesting city, though the parking and traffic leave much to be desired.
I got a baseball game at 7, time to sneak in 4 hours of nap time whilst I'm fucked up on some Pike Tandom ale XD.

Future Plans BOM BOM BOM
Posted 16 years agoAllright allright, gawd.
I'm so tired of my characters being so disjointed. Unnamed characters all over the place, no backstories (that I've actually revealed publicly), and no clothing.
Wait, we'll keep the no clothing thing.
Anyway. I'm going to make a chart, put all of my characters on it, + names. Back stories will be revealed later as I create them. The only ones that are mostly finished are Topher, Nexus, Nova, Ember, and Mike's back stories.
This project will probably be the closest I ever get to doing an actual character sheet (which I also should do, omg, I need to quit my job to do this kind of stuff, grarara).
Also, anybody have a good wow alliance guild that raids on the weekends? I have an 80 human paladin, 80 draenei warrior, 80 human Deathknight, and an 80 draenei hunter. I also have a 70 Tauren warrior and 64 tauren shaman. Please, don't look at me like that.

I'm writing meaningful things!
Posted 16 years agoWhenever I write stuff like this, I feel like I should be reading depressing poetry on stage.
~~~~~~
A listless cluster of stars streaking through the atmosphere
the color red cutting deep slits of pain through midnight blue
I am the canvas apon which you paint painful discourse
wretched eyes can watch the sun rise every morning
but my tired heart can faintly palpitate
I can reach, fingers outstretched, toward the warmth of sunrise
but I cannot clutch the essence of life to give it meaning
Love stinks.
~~~~~~~~
Yup, I'm a bundle of joyful emotions, mmhmm.
Shouldn't I be drawing tits?

Yeah random journal is only relevant to me. I hate when that happens.
Oh yeah, this weekend I should plow through some 400 watchers and re-watch and stuff. Sorry for being so lazy. Work has been fun. I've been training new people like crazy and tackling projects with them at the same time. I don't feel like doing shit when I get home D:.

A furrend in need
Posted 16 years agoA person I know from FA needs some help.
kee has outlined the details in her journal here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/841012/
It sounds like she's in a bit of a pinch, and because this particular request isn't one of those 'lol I need a new laptop' causes, I thought it was worth mentioning. Show a little love, get your character drawn and help out ^_^.

It's been a month since we last had a chat?
Posted 16 years agoOh boy oh boy!
Stop reading, this journal will be fairly boring.
Work has slowed down considerably in the past month or so. This makes going in every night very frustrating. I wake up feeling invigorated. I want to draw, I have these ideas. FUCK - I have to go to work. When I get to work there isn't anything going on. I play the 'lol I'm dinking around' game, wishing secretly I was at home drawing.
Gawd. I always knew I'd be working 45 hours a week to make a living at some point. I never really gave a thought to how much time is sacrificed to doing other things in life, such as shopping, dating, dental appointments, movies to watch, people to see, things to do. Then somewhere in the list is 'hobbies'. The very funnest part of all.
I thought about taking a vacation this year...I'm still considering it. A week to just go nucking futs. Go on a road trip, go camping, whatever I may feel like doing. It's lept into my mind to buy some oil and canvas and go out to some secluded place and just paint landscapes. I'm quickly reminded of how boring landscapes are, however, I think I would convert them to alien landscapes.
I had a friend in college who did alien landscapes quite well. As painters go he was very much into abstract presentation. In fact it was his strength, and as such, he yearned to do ultra detailed pictures. Wait I got side-tracked, where was I? Oh yes, vacation. I am also considering going to Furry Fiesta next year to meet up with some buddies and hang out. I will not be selling art. It's a strange and tortured twisting conundrum. The urge to draw so much, the inability to achieve a level you are happy with, a search for perfection, plateau after plateau, endless trying to achieve more than triviality, and progressing so slowly that even when you're tons better, you cannot tell the difference. I understand that artists are drama queens in regards to their own art. Despite all of that I am still contented with what has been achieved so far.
I picked up the Ghostbusters game for my xbox 360. I struggle to say the game is fun. The controls are sloooow, trapping ghosts is a pain in the ass, the graphics are f'ugly. To date, it is the best ghostbusters game ever created. Considering its competition though...
I picked up shellshock 2, which is just bad. I'm only 30 minutes into the game though. I hope to change my mind.
Samurai Champloo complete came out last month on the 30th and I snatched that up this weekend. I haven't quite gotten to it though. I get distracted watching old star trek episodes on youtube, 'the founding of america' history channel series, and the xfiles complete collection. As I said - working full time kind of kills alot of your free time and you must balance between fun things, social things, and health related things. Bleh.
I really wish James Rolf would re-think the angry video game nerd. I think my last favorite review was the transformers one. This latest one about the luigi games, and a few others he's done lately where he goes maybe 2 screens into a game, are quite dissappointing
I think I hate the term 'popcorn movie'. This term has been used to define the transformers 2 movie. I suppose we live in a time when 'being good' isn't to be expected anymore, and we should all just accept that something can be limited to what it can achieve by the shit-factor inherent to it's genre. Nonsense.
I know, I'm sour, I hate everything. That's why my fursona is a fucker. <3

Nonsense.
I know, I'm sour, I hate everything. That's why my fursona is a fucker. <3
Bon-Journal
Posted 16 years agohahahah, awesome title is awesome.
Shut up, it totally is.
I suppose I should make a journal with at least a hint of relevance. This one, however, will be of little or no relevance to anything.
I've been getting into Ruoska lately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CC9SCAh5ZdQ TOUNEN VIEMAA!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV19.....ated&pos=0 ALASIN.
I feel better about art too, but not entirely. I'm like some wounded animal, but my wounds are completely a figment of my imagination.
Work has totally sucked. As management the best a person can ask for is a crew of people who want to work hard (or just work in general). The hardest part of your day should be showing up. However in my situation I've inherited one of the 'legacy' members of the crew. IE, an old fuck that doesn't want to work. I know that makes me a mean fucker. However, when you ask someone nicely, and they don't do it, or every time you turn your back they are finding ways to half-ass the job...it tends to lower your opinion and rub away all of those protective barriers that make you think 'this is an elderly person'.
I finished a book called "war of the flowers' the other day. What a disappointment that was. I've never read a book where the main character did not change at all. Theo Vilmos is a whiney loser at the beginning of the book, and he's a whining loser at the end. The only difference is that the scenery has changed. At almost 700 pages, it's a lot of reading to wind up being anti-climatic. Now I'm reading the oxford book of Science Fiction (or as they call it the fabril). I'm actually looking forward to zooming out of the early 1900's and into the later writing in the book. The first story is thick with old-english, making it a pain to read.

Posted 16 years agoI'm sulking
Posted 16 years agoWell it's official. I'm taking a break from art.
I'm sulking. Something about art is just bringing depressing misery. Let's be realistic for a moment and say it's probably frustrations in real-life, congealing with frustrations about where I stand artistically, and some unforseen misunderstanding of why this or that does not please me.
I drew some stuff today but for the first time in a while I decided not to submit it. I'm an artist and a human being, it's only a matter of time until one feels a tinge of despair when they're trapped in the endless maze of quandaries in regards to their craft.
I draw therefore I am, why does this shit all look the same? why am I doing the same boring poses? Why am I so damned picky?
Please ladies and gents, spare me the sympathy. I'm not emo (*wrists*). Just need to say 'fuck' in my own way in this journal ^_^.
In the meantime, draw me some boobs, I like those :3.

old meme is old
Posted 16 years agoSexual orientation: I'm currently locked in the upright position.
How often do you think about sex: *thinks* I'm a 28 year old male. If you had asked me back when I was 24 I'd say every 20 seconds. Now I think about sex every 5 minutes.
How often do you HAVE sex: I'm not currently having any. I really like this girl, but she doesn't like me. So I need to find one of those first.
Worst sexual experience: First time I ever fucked a girl on the rag. Gettin a wiff was enough to kill my boner, and she stained my sheets D:.
Cybersex? Phone sex?: What about them? Done both. :D
Casual sex: I'm a scorpio - that fucks up casual sex considerably.
What is your favourite masturbation euphemism: Jerkin off haha
Sex toys and related fetish accessories: I have a built in accessory. Fetish? ... furry
Least sexiest body part: Nose, I mean, it's just THERE. You can't do anything with it.
Favorite body type: Short and stacked. HOT
Body hair: Is this asking if I have body hair? Of course I do. I prefer my ladies to have some in the basement ^_^
Monogamy or polygamy?: Isn't the real question 'marriage?'. Polygamy all the way - I will say that modern examples of polygamy are pretty horrible. Usually those guys are raping their own daughters :P sick
Underwear: Yes please wear your sexiest thong. Oh...me? I prefer briefs but I wear boxers. I don't know why.
Pornographic or erotic: Erotic. Erotic focuses on some mental or "close" attribute. Pornography nowaydays isn't even sexy 'Oh hey I'm hockin' a loogie on your vagina, hot right?'. Yeah *barf*
How large is your porn collection?: Medium. I have a stack of playboys and some movies on my computer. I cruise for it every few days or so.
Favorite hair color: Brunettes rock my world.
Kissing or cuddling?: These usually happen at the same time for me. Though I'd say I prefer fingering. What was the question?
Most attractive nationality/ethnicity: wtf? FUCK YOU, girls are hot no matter where they come from. Stupid meme.
Most attractive anthro/furry creature: I'd have to go on a case by case basis. Ladies have this way of making all their individual characters hot. It begs the question of: "why choose just one, when you've got so many choices?".
Most interesting fetishes you've heard of: *ponder* Fetishes tend to be way out of my spectrum of finding 'interesting'. By interesting I assume that this thing means that you are 'into' it. I'd say inflation is pretty interesting - but I have only seen it done in a way that I find sexy maybe once or twice.

Posted 16 years agoIt brings me dooown.
I love that song, It's 'heavy' by collective soul.
Also randomness cause it amuses me :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDcxXfSSBlc
Okay, so like, I've been reading journals of people I watch for some time now. I know what you're thinking. Oh my god he's going to complain about something. Well yes I am. Kind of. See the thing is that I get like 30-50 journals a day.
My biggest complaint is the content of said journals. I mean, ustreams are cool cause there's no other way to let people know. Auctions - cool, it's usually in the title so I can avoid it (not that I don't want to win an auction or two...). However there is a great disturbance in the force. I mild tingling in the bowel section.
This tingling relates to journals that seem to be little more than twitter, only they're in journal format, and they're about inane things. Yes you have a journal, YES THE URGE TO TELL EVERYBODY EVERYTHING is very appealing. Srsly though...c'mon. Some of the things stuffed in my journal box have little relevance to the people reading it.
What am I getting at? Nothing, I am rambling. These are thoughts, discussion, and hypothesizing based on my own twisted format of thinking. Isn't that the point of a journal? Let's get to something more interesting.
Art. I asked you guys last time what you would like to see me draw, and the luke warm response was so underwhelming that I'm lead to believe most where struck by the TL:DR bug way before making it to the end.
The question still stands. What do you find interesting? What characters do you like? Keep in mind I'm not asking for a request, think more in context of just what kind of cheesecake you like. More sexy suits? Alchohal? swingsets? Freckles? Exposed and submissive poses? You're only limited by your imagination.
I have ideas for what I'd like to draw. I always do. That doesn't mean that there aren't way better ideas floating around out there :3

Allright, to be awesome, go listen to this while you read http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpZKmUb6NBk . *snicker*
I started the day off pretty awesome today (having just woke up about an hour ago). I was going to go out and check the mail. I've kept this face-plate of a dvd-rom cover hanging around. Well today I was reminded of why I try not to keep too much junk around. I stepped on it. Oh the faceplate is fine, but it sliced my foot open. I went through the usual song and dance that this evokes when it happens, I jumped around like an idiot going 'ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow' for a few minutes.
It feels better now. I swear to god though, my feet are magnets for pain, one of my favorite past-times is stubbing my toe in the darkness while trying to move around the house. Finding objects that family members have left on the floor, just for me to discover like toe-crushing land-mines.
I got a book by James Randi called 'the faith healers'. I can't wait to read it, but I must say the packing it came in was amusing. It's was wrapped in plastic wrap, like you use to keep your fruit fresh or something. I guess I'm an oddball (and yet, totally normal) because I smelled it. YES, I SMELL THINGS. It's got that musky smell, like it's been sitting in someones grandmothers house for decades D:. This is entirely possible, the book is 20 years old.
I picked up Sam and Max: The complete series which came in the mail today. I also received yu-yu kahusho seasons 1-4. God I love that anime. Unfortunately I can't watch it yet. Today falls into the Bermuda triangle of time allocation. There is none. By the time I'm done typing this out to pass the time it'll be time to be off to work. Today they want us to come in an hour early. I've gotten 4 hours of sleep - this is about average for a night-working person. Mind you, it is quite hilarious the difference between a day crew and a night crew. Our night crew spends every waking minute of the night toiling away. The day crew's idea of work is showing up and struggling to slurp down the first cup of coffee, agonizing over ways to shoot the shit to pass the time, and contemplating their next move on the donut box in an attempt to consume as many as possible (but not come off as a complete cow to their co-workers).
Oh yar, I got the complete Red Dwarf Series. I remember trying to catch as many of these as possible on PBS over 15 years ago. PBS doomed the series though, playing it at all kinds of odd times during the night and switching that time constantly (at least where I lived). I'm currently on Season IV. I love something about the cheesy 'foggy' look of everything. The low-budget look (even if it isn't low budget) is quite cool. I find that kind of production much more appealing than the ultra-realistic high-budget stuff. Though, rest assured, I do enjoy that kind of thing too.

This is kind of more relevant to you guys (I put this at the end so the TL:DR guys have gone away by now). Keese (the Ache) has received quite a good reception. I want to try to make a comic of her having a little fun with link, or some dungeon denizen from the zelda series. Having thoughts about making comics and stuff is always a bummer, cause the idea is cool - even hot, but my execution sucks. I either get bogged down with entertainment that my poor attention-deficit-mind needs to survive, or I just forget that I wanted to do it. Not to mention my experience with drawing an actual comic sucks.
I've thought a few times that I should thin out the characters I'm drawing (and indeed I've tried very hard to lately, which is why there are more themes and less new characters). I want to keep Keese, Nexus and Nova, all of the evil reindeer, and all of the shorties, the hammer sister, the magi koopa, my yoshi (the gold and green one), and the big-breasted blue skunk that has posed with the yoshi. I also want to keep josefin (though she got a good reception to begin with, her last picture was kind of received with all the fury of a luke-warm noodle being fwipped against a wall).
Allright I guess that's a round-about way of leading to a question. What character(s) do I draw that you like?
