It seems that furaffinity will be down this weekend. So here's my question: What will you be doing this weekend?
I plan to look for a new job (apprenticeships) and watch Mystery Science Theater 3000. I plan to spend time with my lovely and horribly neglected girlfriend and drink. DRINK. DRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK (well maybe not so much as implied).

Posted 13 years agoHappy Holidays my friends :) I hope that at least a few of you will join me in spirit as I reflect on this past year, the good and the bad, to learn from mistakes, to grow as a person, and to hold on with all urgency to the good times that were had. Without my family, friends, and loved ones I am empty.

I didn't really expect to receive any well-wishes today. I appreciate it.
If you want to know my age. I am now 31. I've been doing this furry thing for like 15 years (and for the record when I started, guys/girls in suits were the farthest thing from my mind; not that I mind, that's just not me).
My personal interest in this fandom spawned from reading redwall books, growing up with disney afternoons, and an early obsession with tits (first tits drawing? When I was 7).
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to visit my parents. Have a good week :)

I'm looking for a new job. I'm not saying i was fired or that I'm quitting. I'm simply looking around to see what else I can get that pays better and isn't graveyard. I'm really tired of working at nights and not having a life.
Right now I'm looking into a job that would increase my annual salary substantially. It has benefits and gives me 2 months off every summer (plus it STILL pays more than my current job).
So I'm pleading with various cosmic powers to be kind to me.
Football season started too. I watch it. I can't help myself. Also hockey season for the WHL started so I'm going to those games too. Plus having a girlfriend that requires attention (she's going to hurt me for saying that).
Blah blah blah.

Hello Dear Friend, We meet again.

First I'd like to say I'm sorry about the delay in opening commissions. I was surprised by a large bill last week from the dentist that somehow got buried in my inbox. It was past due (shiiiiit).
The somewhat bizarre news is that I was involved in a large lawsuit and won 40 dollars! Woot! So the gods are semi-merciful.
The real reason to open any sort of commissions would be trying to give myself some breathing room. That said I switch to 10 hour long shifts at work this week and I will be on vacation for 2 weeks starting on the 22nd of August. It is my hope to accept some commission work in my free time. Both to unwind on and line my piggy bank with.
Thanks to those that have expressed any sort of interest. You guys know how to make a guy smile.
Some totally unrelated news: I'm replaying final fantasy VI. I think the Mysidian Rabbit deserves some kind of cheesecake :). I beat Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Semi-fun-nothing-new. BTW yes nintendo, train tracks ARE worse than sailing on a boat.
I watched RIO the other day. Fuckin loved it, and the music is just my style (got that sound track ya) :D. I have Rango rented but haven't watched it yet.
I have been spending my weekends at ball games. Went to a craft fair down the street this weekend, lots of cool shit there. Our town's historical society (Marysville) leaves much to be desired (they have information of little relevance printed out on printing paper). I think the older folks working there have a lot of passion but need some guidance in helping a community embrace their roots.

Slow art
Posted 14 years agoUpdates on art have been slowing down. I really just don't get much time (even less than before lol I didn't think it was possible).
I'm happy that I still seem to be making some progress with art. Anatomy is pretty much effortless (that doesn't mean it's perfect). Backgrounds are kind of crawling like a slug into some kind of composition that may or may not lead to better things.
I miss doing art really, but what is a guy to do? It's my hobby. I'm grateful to those that enjoy it.
Anywho, until next time kids, expect more stuff - whatever it may be.

2011 Time to change the date in your signatures

No matter how well people may predict events scientifically, or through reasoning, the future always remains uncertain. I tend to take a more sordid stance toward people so believe me when I say that though it is unlikely it is my hope that in the future the human spirit will evolve into something much greater than it is.
We are so confined to our prejudices, our habits, our little holes in the wall that we forget that as a whole, the human race is a creature with a lot of knowledge left to consume, and a lot of wisdom left to gain.
So this year I am going to try to look deep-within and try to change myself. Not becoming a pushover in the process, but searching for an inexplicable thing that can change me for the better. My outlook on life, the way I treat my friends, or just how I handle things in general.
Also: I need to open up commissions already goddamnit. That's an attainable goal at least :)

Closes Eyes
Posted 14 years agoIt's been a while since I've done this, but I will just type out this entire journal with my eyes closed.
Mostly I'm closing them because it was an exceptionally good day. I haven't had a christmas this great for many years. It's really nice to see your parents when they haven't been crawling up your ass all year. I entered a familiar and comfortable place seeing them. In a way a piece of my missing heart which I've stuffed into some pit for so long was renewed.
So yeah I close my eyes to type so I can remember the feeling, and hang onto it.
Alot of things about my life just aren't right. I don't talk about them here. It sounds desperate and forced to confess such things. Frivilous to say them in fact. To be viewed as pathetic is almost worth the pain of not having an ear to listen. If you get my drift. I am rambling though.
I had a very merry christmas. This is my reason for the season.
I should say that I am mindful that as my family rejuvinates me socially, mentally, and spiritually (don't take that out context) that you guys on this art site compel me to push on with my artwork. For that I thank you.

Beat final fantaay 2, honestly not a bright star in the series to me. The story didn't really reel me in at any point. Specifically all the hubub over ultima magic that I didn't use.
Saw a christmas carol with jim carry, enjoyable but give me uncle scrooge over this one any day.
Cataclysm - hmmm boring expansion so far. The lore in wrath was more enjoyable to me.good changes, bad changes, more grinds, meh gear. The shining star in this one is worgen, except the male worgen runanimation, the goofiest shit ever. Goblins are fail for horde, ya'll got screwed.
Got my dad a kindle for christmas, if I keep playing with it I may just steal it.
Lived in my new place for 2 months now, loving it, but I don't have as much money as I used to, expect commission info soon if you desire such a thing.
Things coming up artwise will be: working on heads/orientatoin, faces, anatomy from different angles, backgrounds, and overall composition.
A reindeer picture may happen this weekend - I hope you all have happy holidays.

I celebrated my 30th birthday on the 23rd (last Saturday). I didn't make a journal about it but I'm shamelessly putting this in here :D.
Anyway so I move out today and I guess I should admit it's the first time in my life that I'm moving out (probably adding fuel to the fire that furries live in their parents basement)...however - it's not easy to move out unless you want to live in a shit hole and I made my decision to go to college first which my parents supported by allowing me to live rent free (that sounds like some kind of justification, well it is, because it's embarrassing). I remember making fun of my friends sister for moving out when she was 29 some 12 years ago now.
Sorry Noah - I was a fucking idiot about that.
Anyway - I'll be without internet until next week Saturday.

Posted 15 years agoAllright. I guess to push my bad journal off my front page (it may get deleted) I will write one about me :).
As the last journal said I'm now out and about actively looking for a house to rent. My brother and I went to tour a house todsy, but it was a total dive. Including holes in the wall, uncertainty from the guy selling it wether or not we could get high speed internet, creaky floors, overgrown yard (which they supposedly landscape, and a draft that made the house colder inside than it was outside. Ah I almost forgot that the house smelled like a zoo too.
In more personal news I've been dieting. I hit 244 lbs and said 'oh hell no'. I've lost 17lbs in 14 days. My goal is to lose 40 by the end of the year.
I get a raise at work next month too :) which is good news
Been playing halo reach lately and I'm still considering commissions...thanks to those who are actually interested in such a thing! Ugh tired of typing journal out on phone Imma go now!

Pointless Journal About Nothing
Posted 15 years agoI'm trying to type this journal out and make some point about something, but I stop myself halfway through and delete everything I've typed.
I don't know if it's because of how many things I've seen and done in my life - but the observances and rantings feel empty. Like I'm preaching to the choir almost. I think there used to be a time where I could get on my soap box and cruise to some self-deluded conclusion that fit my personal values.
The more time goes on the harder I find it to do that. I've gained a lot of experience in dealing with people and it seems that the more I learn about other people, the more I a) learn about myself and b) put less value into my own conclusions, because at a given moment I may be shown something that changes my opinion (and in most cases I find that I am not privy to everything that is going on, whether it be a piece of the picture missing which would give insight, or a misunderstanding of what drives others to do what they do).
My grandmother went to the hospital last week due to a stroke. She's doing better now. Maybe I needed to get that off of my chest. A guy called me a bitch ass nigger in l4d2 and it enraged me that a person can act like that over a video game. Maybe that made me want to vent. I'm stuck in a rut trying to love a girl that does not love me back. Maybe the frustration drove me to type this.
Stress and uncertainty will surely lead to the stagnation of my artwork. Though in the case of artwork I pretty much just draw whatever pleases ME. I don't know if that's selfish or the realization that I need to enjoy it because it relieves all of the uncertainty of life for me.
While I'm raving on like a lunatic about things that have been rummaging around in my attic, I really do owe big props to Shaw tonight for letting me vent some anger his way, Thanks bro. I think Lintu spent the whole time obsessing over a Bowser Jr. key-chain :) that helped too cute little dutch person *pinches cheeks*.
Like the good old times, I'm now tired enough for sleep.

A guy called me a bitch ass nigger in l4d2 and it enraged me that a person can act like that over a video game. Maybe that made me want to vent. I'm stuck in a rut trying to love a girl that does not love me back. Maybe the frustration drove me to type this.
Stress and uncertainty will surely lead to the stagnation of my artwork. Though in the case of artwork I pretty much just draw whatever pleases ME. I don't know if that's selfish or the realization that I need to enjoy it because it relieves all of the uncertainty of life for me.
While I'm raving on like a lunatic about things that have been rummaging around in my attic, I really do owe big props to Shaw tonight for letting me vent some anger his way, Thanks bro. I think Lintu spent the whole time obsessing over a Bowser Jr. key-chain :) that helped too cute little dutch person *pinches cheeks*.
Like the good old times, I'm now tired enough for sleep.
